My daughter has a 2009 Rogue - 125,000 miles.

She said the last 3 times she tried to fill up with gas, her fuel gauge only shows 3/4 full.
I assume the fuel gauge is going bad and the only way to fix it is to change the fuel pump. Is this the most likely assumption?
At 125,000 miles, I guess I have nothing to lose - (kill 2 birds with 1 stone), then she should be good for another 100,000 miles.

I looked at O'Reilys , Auto Zone, and Rock Auto. Prices range from $150 to $430.
I am thinking about getting the Delphi on RockAuto for $240, or should I get Delphi or Spectra for $340 at AutoZone?

I am thinking if there is another problem 5 years down the road, it would be easier to deal with if I spent an extra $100 at Autozone, with a lifetime warranty.

Is Delphi a good brand? What about Spectra?

The older first generation always had a problem with the fuel display. My 2009 had been missing the first orange bar for a full tank for a decade since new.

It finally came back after using some fuel/injector cleaners, use the one’s with the PEA additive.

It might come back for awhile, go away. Who knows.
I assume you’re missing more bars. Mine comes and goes. At least I see it at times. :rotfl

Back in the day, people were changing their fuel pumps 2-3 times under warranty and it still didn’t fix it. Which is why I never got it done, and just lived with that one missing orange bar. :inout:

OK, if it is as simple as a missing bar...might not be worth changing...

How long do Rogue fuel pumps tend to last these days?
with my other cars, it tend to go out around 140,000 to 200,000 miles, which is why i was thinking - "nothing to lose by changing it now".

Sounds like one of the floats is stuck. The gen2 Rogues have saddle tanks with the fuel pump and one sender on the passenger side, another sender on a crossover wire on the driver side. The senders are wired in parallel to produce an "average" voltage. If one is stuck then you'll get partial movement at one or both ends of the dash gauge. I very much doubt there's any problem with the gauge itself, those are as reliable as dirt under your feet. I've never seen one go bad on a gen2.

Nice to know, but the OP has an '09, which I hesitate to point out, is a 1st gen model.

2008 and most times does not read full after fillup. I just use the odometer and refill between 180-200 mi.

My bad, thought it said a '14. Guess I've had a longer day than I thought. 'Night all.
