Good thing you undercoat, looks pretty clean under there. What's all the red paint (?) around the oil drain plug?
Ya, the oil spraying has really kept the undercarriage in good shape. I'm pretty happy about the overall condition under there, given the winters and salt use around here.
As for the red paint, I'm actually not sure. I get my oil changed regularly at the dealership (quick change drive through, no appointment), so next time I go, I'll ask them.
(Before anyone asks, the dealership price for oil changes turns out to be less than what I would pay at 90% of the quick lube/garages out there. I've compared).
FYI, I was going to write about the ride difference when I posted the pics, but had to sign off.
OK, there is a difference, but it's hard to describe.
The difference is not earth shattering like some posters have alluded to. For example, It doesn't corner like a Porsche 911 or anything like that.
The best way to describe it that the ride has settled down and become more stable. It feels more controlled and tighter, but not any stiffer or harsh.
I've always found the ride to be a little jittery, that it took time to settle down after hitting a bump for example.
The missing link seems to have reduced that feeling quite a bit, and and it rides much more civilized.
It also seems to lean less going around corners. Again, not earth shattering, but definitely noticeable.
I'm actually not sure how it does what it does, but for the price, the initial result is positive.
The only thing that worries me (slightly) is that I don't know if it creates any higher stress points in other areas of the suspension, resulting in what may be premature wear in other areas. I guess time will tell.
Hope this answers your question.
