Cool, I've got to do that! Adding it never crossed my mind. I was wondering why mine didn't have one either.

Hmmm... I bought a keyless remote because i think mine took a s***. Can't wait to get it on Friday because i have no spare key. lol. http://www.ebay.com/itm/320404111026?ss ... 1497.l2649

Also, I bought those self- do it yourself a/c cans because i don't have cold air coming through the vents. Used up the can today, told my dad what i did and he called stupid because there's a leak which he wasn't descriptive about. -_____- so there goes my $39.99. Hopefully the leak isn't that bad and last me a couple months?

My PF AC needs a can every spring. There's a substantial refund if you return the empty can with 60 (IIRC) days.

Changed my engine oil and filter and replaced the oil drain plug with a magnetic one, greased the driveshaft, and topped off the washer fluid.

Out: Mobil 1 0W-40 in use for 5,258 miles + Mobil 1 M1-110 oil filter
In: Valvoline NextGen MaxLife 5W-30 + Purolator PL14610 oil filter
Grease: Valvoline DuraBlend
Washer fluid: Rain-X Green (in case anybody really wants to know :gapteeth:)
TC SPORTLINE MAGNETIC OIL DRAIN PLUG (eBay)

Since the lower oil pan is steel, it was a little hassle getting the magnetic oil drain plug actually in the hole since it kept sticking to the edges of it. It came with some aluminum washer, but I replaced it with an OEM copper crush washer.

0 w 30? how'd that run . I also did oil Castrol 5W-30 Wix Filter. Also installed my magnetic plug. Rain-x green is the only thing that goes in my reservoir.

I used 0W-40, not 0W-30. It ran fine, nothing odd to report, which is all you can hope for really. Oil was slightly red tinted when draining and light shining through the stream, which I believe indicates it did some cleaning (not sure, will do some research later). I'd certainly hope so, since M1 0W-40 has a very stout additive package; after all it has many Euro manufacturer specifications and thus it has to meet stringent standards.

It's a nudibranch, specifically Dendronotus albus. The executive summary is that nudibranchs are snails without a shell. Most of the stuff on top with the yellow tips is their gills. There are two things on the left that look different, they are their rhinophores (smelling organ). If you really want to learn more http://slugsite.tierranet.com/

Been over a year..fellas I posted over a year ago...I've got a 2007 Pathfinder..long story somewhat short, after buying pre-owned with 47000 miles I got the extended warranty to 100,000 miles. After buying in August of 2010, around April of 2011 I noticed abnormal excessive white smoke on start up...having leak down test, and eventually a year later a oil consumption test... The dealership finally acknowledge that the engine was leaking oil (I think it was bad valve seals or engine was just shot).... Either way, I got a call today after brining the car back like 8 times...that they are replacing my engine with what the service rep called a new engine...I'm thinking...great, a new engine..but I know there are still some concerns...can anyone help with the types of questions I should ask about the engine replacement?

While I do believe (maybe more like pray) this will solve my issue...I know while the news was positive, there is always a deeper level of questioning that needs to occur...any assistance would be so helpful.

Thanks,
CBUS

Good to hear Nissan will be replacing your engine on their dime, that can be quite a hassle!

I don't think you'll need to ask about anything really, the dealer should know what they're doing. :gotme

New NGK iridium IX plugs. Found my mechanic used a mixed set of plugs last time I had him do it. NGKs and E3s?? Time for a new mechanic!

Installed new black slotted and cross drilled rotors, Adaptive One ceramic pads and test fitted the QX56 rims I had machined. Can't wait for the General Grabber rubber!!!

Don't take this as a personal dig, it's just a thought on my part but: I don't understand with today's gas prices why so many of you still run premium gas in your Pathy's/QX4's.
I've been running 87 Octane regular gas for years with no loss of mileage or performance.
Every once in a while, just to see if there is a difference, I'll run a tank of mid-range (89 Octane), and it runs the same.
The only thing I can think of is that here in Canada, we don't put Ethanol in the regular gas.
Now, there are some stations (Independents) that carry 10% ethanol gas as an option, but most of the "normal" gas stations don't have it.
BTW, I was in the states 2 weeks ago and noticed all regular gas was 10% ethanol. Is it mandated?
Maybe that makes a difference in performance?? Thoughts?

As for what I did today: I gave it a thorough wash and vacuum, and started to wax it, but it got too hot.
I'll have to finish later on a cooler day.

Cheers. :bigthumb:

Hmmmm.

I buy my gas at Esso 95% of the time (Speed pass and Aeroplan points), and haven't noticed anything about ethanol in their gas. Nothing on the pumps that I've seen. I'll check next time I go though.
I also stop once in a while at Shell or Petro-Can, and don't recall seeing any labels on the pumps re ethanol there either.
Regardless, I've run regular for years now and the truck has been just fine.
Happy motoring. :dblthumb:

In the US they mix that crap in our gas thanks to our countries leader. If you live by the beach or a body of water you can luck out and find it without because it will hurt marine engines. I get better MPG when I don't use the mix.
