so i raised my car yesterday, front end is fine but the back end is still pretty low and for the first time since i put coilovers i acutally scraped by back end while driving to work today.

I went full hight on the front and back but it doesn't seem that way, i was thinking of taking my subs out to see if that would make a difference but i don't know this is gay

sounds like your subs might be the problem, extra weight in the trunk will cause your car sit lower in the back

I'm thinking of grabbing a set of these. Can a total idiot install these with the instructions provided? I'm on a tight budget, need to get these installed ASAP as well. I'm in Canada and the temperatures are around freezing at this time of the year. I'm guessing this wouldn't be enjoyable in this weather?

Mine didn't come with instructions, and as far as I can tell, I didn't screw it up royally. ;)

I made a review on the new cartridges, 20% less valved than the default settings from the manufacturer. Overall the 20% less valved is a lot street friendlier and better. Thread: ac-bc-racing-br-coilovers-revew-part-ii-t527712.html

I am going for the HellaFlush look and was wondering if you guys were all able to go as low as you wanted with the front coilovers? I know I talked to one person and he is barely tucked with 20s and his fronts are maxed out.

By the way 19x9.5 +35 are the new wheels!!!

I finally got my BC Coilovers and I've gotta say, I LOVE EM!! The ride is smooth and it handles like a dream. Has anyone adjusted the front camber yet? I'm thinking about adjusting -2.

I installed some 2nd hand coilovers with 10k miles on my A/C.

The front right spring sounds like it snags when I'm turning the wheel when I first pull out. It makes a "ding" sound followed by a short vibration. It only happens once and when I first start driving. Any ideas what that might be? Should I be concerned?

Also the rears used to make a creaking noise every once in a while, but it seems to have stopped.

My ride has been very bouncy, so I stiffened the damping on the front ones (5 clicks from full stiff). I would like to stiffen the rears, and I can see the damper knob at the top. It's very difficult to reach with the car on the ground, so I may use my jack to lift the car up to adjust it soon.

From what I can see of the knob on the rears, it doesn't appear to show which direction does what. Which direction do I turn it to go full stiff: clockwise or counter-clockwise? I'll count off about 5 clicks from there.

Turning the dampening knob to the right always increases stiffness.

I've got mine adjusted but the shop did it for me when they were cutting my lower mount. The most negative I could make them has been around -1.2. Good luck getting to -2 and if you do please fill me in!

The shop was only able to get my front camber to -1.4 which is better then the way it was before, perfect. No rubbing at all but I do plan on getting the rear fenders rolled. Right now i have about 1/8" clearance from the inner rear fender to the tire.

Some people with these coils say they have a smooth ride.

My ride is rougher than a limewire p0rn flick. Seriously bouncy. I stiffened up the dampening, but now I just get pushed out of my seat when hitting bumps. I have smacked my head on the roof plenty of times.

I do drive quite fast however. The roads out here can get pretty bad in areas. Even on a stiff ride, I managed to slam the bottom of the car at the bottom of a hill at about 120. That was not pleasant.

Softening the dampening turns my car into a boat.

I'm not that low, about 1" clearance front and back. Running 225/40/19 tires.

Any suggestions? EDIT: Besides slowing down - my ride still sucks when driving like a snail.

People have ordered the BC racing coil overs with 20% less valved in the rear, which makes them softer apparently. Search for it.

I personally got sick of the BC lack of quality.

I replaced the rear with my Eibach and stock shocks. Made quite a difference.

I'm also getting some "clunking" and "pinging" from the front when navigating tight turns at very low speeds.

Did a bit of research, Mazdaspeed3 guys have been getting the same problem, and apparently solved it with this bearing:

I ordered a set, I'll update if it helps.

Back to your question, Funkee, I would sell the BC's and get Tien's :frown:

I read up on those. It looks promising - I bet it will take care of the twangs and clangs. I bet you need to do an alignment since you need to take down the whole assembly to get these in. I might consider putting these in when I eventually do a tire rotation. Let me know if you fix the noise. I have the same problem, and it has been getting worse.

I have no complaints about my BC's at all. The pre-load is set perfect, plus I am as low as I can be.

Cool, how long have you had them for?

Mine probably started acting up after 1 - 1.5 years
