Mcheddadi: No worries.
Hi, I am wondering if you can assist me with wheel set up?I have 2009 altima sedan base model. I understand most factory offset is +38.

I am wondering if the 18x8.5 offset +30 and tire set up is 235/35-18.The tires+wheel set up will stick out 18 mm (0.7'') farther. I haven't seen 07-09 Altima Sedan with +30 offset but that why I asked you if you think that is very possible to do this. I am wondering how many mm will clear front and rear if the fender is roll and pull a decent flare? Wondering if your tire+wheel size even your offset would fit the sedan if the fender rolled as well? Do you recommend to roll front and rear fenders with offset +29 to +30?

Thanks, I love your car, the stance look mean with those BC coilover and Advan. Beautiful car.

hehe yes, I was the first one with the BC coilovers. I had the first batch of the coilovers, which they only made few at the time.

It sounds like you did not preload the front or rear correctly/enough. The rotating spring is perfectly fine as its a MacPherson strut.

You can always contact BC Racing, they will guide you to fixing your problem. i.e preloading
Loop,

Sorry for the delayed response. Ok, so how do i fix the preload issue? I know you said contact BC, but they seem to be busy everytime I call.

ThanksIzzy

Izzy,

I have good luck with emailing them. Give them 24-48 hours to reply back.

From Mike @ BC Racing

The proper way to set preload

-Loosen both lock rings under the spring (spring seat ring (top) and spring lock ring (bottom)) so that the spring is loose and can move up and down slightly.

-Tighten up the spring seat ring so that the spring is snug, but do not tighten it down past simply holding the spring snug, this will be "0" preload.

-Now bring the bottom lock ring up so that it is just touching the spring seat ring, but do not tighten to lock, you will be moving the spring seat ring next.

-Now tighten up the spring seat ring so that you are now preloading (compressing) the spring.

-Measure the distance between the bottom ring and the top ring as you are tightening, once there is a 5mm gap between the two rings, you have 5mm of preload on the spring.

-Tighten up the lock ring to lock your preload in place

-Repeat for all 4 corners.

Resetting preload on independent rear

Raise the back of the vehicle and secure it with a jack stand

Once secure use a jack under the lower mount and raise it enough to get the lower mount bolt out easily

Loosen the lower lock ring on the coilover and slide the lower mount out from its mounting point

Remove the jack, at this point the spring should be loose in the bucket

While you are here be sure that the lock ring and spring seat rings are tight

Use another jack under the bucket seat to make the spring fit snug

Measure the distance from the center of the hub to the fender

Raise jack 1/4" creating the preload on the spring

Scroll the lower mount of the strut up so that its level with its mounting bolt, slide the bolt through it and tighten

At this point you should have the spring preloaded 1/4"

so i have been following this thread for a while and i'm pretty set on getting these, i was just curious on how much i would be expecting to pay to get these installed. im not car savvy and just started getting into modding, so i don't wanna mess it up, but definitely wanna learn this stuff. any suggestion on where to get them installed? (like local shop/les schwabs or etc) planning on going all out with endlinks and stb and rsb as well..

thanks for any info..

ps. been learning a lot from everyone here, appreciate any advice

OK,..So I was got the coilovers yesterday and I'm excited as hell to get em installed. So I re-read this post and see that a couple of guys are having problems with the rear camber. Has this been address / solved?

For the guys who have the coilovers, did you need to get adjustable rear camber arms like the SPC Performance 72050 or not? I just don't want to have my car on the lift only to find out I need them.

Loop, did you have to get them for yours or no?

There are no adjustable camber for the rear. I am not sure if any parts have came out to make it adjustable but from what I know there is none.

You do not need anything extra to install them. I also highly suggest getting spacers for the rear if you are going to go low because you rear wheel will get tuck in. I have 20mm spacer for the rear and the lip of my wheel is flush with fender, so I am slightly tuck in. 25mm will make it fully flush in the rear and 5mm front makes it flush as well.

You will have to roll your fenders also if you do that.

Hey Everyone, Travis from SPC here. I know there has been some question about the 72050- The rear arm WILL work on a 02-06, as far we know it does not work on a 07-10 Altima. If you have anymore questions feel free to drop me a line - tcozzie(at)specprod.com

Well I got the coils installed last Friday and no camber issues what so ever! I love it! I didn't mess with the height and pretty much installed it right out of the box. Alignment is spot on and camber is perfect

First... Pics.

Second, what are your overall driving impressions? If I find that I've blown a stock shock now which is causing my rattling noise (see my thread), I'm definately not replacing the OEM and moving to these and will sell the Eibach's.

Third: what are your settings on them now?

okay, i'm not sure if its the same link as mcheddadi since i click on his SPC link and it doesn't work... i was on their site and if you click 2007 - 2009 altima it gives you part number 72055 for rear camber adjustment bolts... is anyone able to confirm this works?

I apologize for the long delay in response. For pics all I have are the pics that I've posted on facebook. Too lazy really to find my camera to take overall pics.
My overall impression about the coilovers is simply amazing. Def. a better, stiffer, controlled ride. Not as bouncy as before with the eibachs. As for settings, I have them set 13F/12R but I do a lot of highway driving so settings will differ from coupe to coupe and people's preferences.

Here's some pics of my coupe entering my driveway. There's only like a half inch lip going into the garage but there is a dip id the driveway going into it. It's probably why the front end drop looks so exaggerated.

And here's some pics with mine and surman's coupe (on Eibachs) when he came over the other weekend. The cigarettes packs will give you an idea of the drop height between the two coupes.

Loop or Dangeris,

I went to a shop today and the owner stated my front struts are installed incorrectly. He stated "where you adjust the front damper, the front camber plate is straight front to back and should be left to right." The area where you have the four bolts which you cannot reach or adjust due to the small gap like the picture you (Loop) have under the Front Camber adjustment paragraph. Is this true? If so how can i rotate the plate so it is sideways (left to right)?

Thanks in advance

Mike

Front camber adjustments: Definitely a bonus feature! I have not tried this, which I will need to do because of my aggressive wheel setup I have. In order to do this, you are going to have to do it before hand because you have very limited access when it’s installed. Here is a picture of what I mean:

Installed my front two last night and it was pretty straight forward. I didn't adjust the height, I left them how they came. I took it out for a test drive and these things are stiff. I felt every single bump on the road.

That's true bruh. I talked to Tim 5 minutes ago. The car is going to be by Tomorrow, but I wont be able to pick it up till next weekend. I got an emergency call from the city of Santa Monica that they need some work done ASAP and it has to be nights because they don't want traffic. Pickey bastards :slap: . The contract has been done.

Quick question for the people who have the coilovers and the racingline front stut bar, did you have any issues with the fitting?

I just got my strut bar, but am having issues with the threading on the last hole not being long enough for the nut after the putting the racingline bracket on.

any help would be great, thanks!

been waiting to put it on for weeks!!!

I'm about to order these coilovers and they said I can get any spring rate I want. I don't know much about this so could someone tell what would be the best spring rate. I live in NY so the roads are not the best and I want a comfortable ride. Thanks

I only have the front two installed right now and I have them set to the softest setting and I feel that they are soft and smooth yet still handle better than the eibachs did.

So after reading this over and over and looking up info on it Im still not certain on whether or not they make any products to adjust the rear camber with or without coilovers on the coupe. Any info or feedback thanks

Spc has the camber bolts which will have your rear cambers into spec. Other than the rear camber... Everything else is within spec

I want to look into replacing the entire camber arm. I dont like those bolts at all. I dont want to drill out my rear control arm just to put some bolts in there. Id rather either wait until a adjustable camber arm comes out or get the stock one modified to be adjustable which may be the direction I go if something doesnt come out soon.
