i do wish he could work on it more but at this point, i'll take what i can get, you see with this guy, i know i'll have a nice ride when it's done, he's an artist, perfectionist, and one of my best friends dads, if it was anyone else, i would be on the floor rolling around acting like a two year old but i have alot of respect for this guy so it's cool!

Thanks for all the kind words, it really helps me stay focus on the project, It's hard putting most of your money in something you know you won't get to drive for another 3-5 years(from start to finish)......so thanks again!

I spoke to BN sports yesterday, i got them to sell me their inverted hatch, they said it's still in the iffy stage, think he said they only had 10 made(or ten sent over) they don't know if they want to mass produce it yet... I think there's a few knock offs here in the states, but not sure, i hope to have it by late next week!

now for you that have been following along, you know i like to draw on my pics, just to get an idea......so here's one of the pic above, i tilted the windshield back and made my vents...........i think we will end up with something like this........i know it's very porsche but i like it, i will have a intercooler in the middle and other coolers in the other vents(oil, ect...) to make them functional

keep it up, but sadly i must say that you have invested too much money into this project for the level of satisfaction you were aiming for.

other things could make you more happy, and you would money left over.

you could have built a 9 sec supra. or a twin turbo dodge viper gary javo style,or a early model lamborghini diablo SV - twin turbo !?

but dont let me stop you. these are just my ideas. I just hope you are satisfied when its done.

This has been like a 2 year build! I figured this thing was long since done.

Glad to see it's still coming along though, this is going to be a beastly car when it's finished.

i see what you're saying and i agree, but you're missing one thing, i didn't have all that money at one time, i saved.....spent.....saved....spent, so it hasn't seem like i've spent that much.......but after 5 years, i've spent alot!!..lol

no....he doesn't give me any ETA....but i knew thats how he did it before i took it to him so...

...that would be alot more money!!....it would be cool and different but no, i wouldn't, too much time and money.

....well if he didn't take a year off to finish that other car, i think it would of been close if not done already, thing you have to remember is i work at two resturants and a fast food place so, even if he worked on it every day......don't think i could keep up with the bill

Its not so much that i love the kit or anything but its builds like this that make me love my car and want to be original. I respect the time, money, and everything put into this build. If your going to do something you might as well do it right, its your car and you want to make it look as good in your eyes as possible because no one else's opion really matters when it comes to your car.

I respect your bodyman so much, hes doing an amazing job. i wish he was working on my car but i know i couldnt afford him.

I love seeing any progress thats made on your car, keep it coming and dont rush it, just keep up the quality and detail you've pretty much became famous on nico for.

i know you have learned alot from watching this guy work. but it seems like you are timid even to sand something. i know you work alot, but 10min here and there is not too much.

he is amazing but any one can sand a little to help out the body guy.

it sort of seems like he cuts one thing, then fiberglasses it, then eats then goes home, or something of that nature.

once againg i'm not saying anything bad about him or his work, but i would hate to pay someone their rate to sand some glass.

This is an amazing build like everyone says. I agrre a bit on the sanding part but you are way to busy with other stuff to do that. Its so interesting to watch this (thanks for the pictures) to see how its done. Every update makes me want to take my body work to the next level like this just watching the kit evolve is amazing.

Look at the composition I feel like trying some thing like he does on a much much smaller scale like maybe a lip or skirts. I don't doubt they will be rough but putting in the time and effort like this guy I think its possible.

Anyway gettingaway from being sidetracked...Great job I like the ideas you have. Remember this is your project so you make it what you want at the end of the day your driving it. I admire your perseverance (sp?) in sticking with it. I like it was said before might have been throwing a fit now seeing as how its hard to wait a week for a part to come in.

Good luck to you sir I can't wait to see this. You know your going to have to go on a nation wide tour with this.

you have a good point but when he's up at the shop, i'm at work......he's only up there on the weekends, he has another job, it was something he couldn't pass up, but it has nothing to do with bodywork......he has told me stories where he let the customer work on their own car and he had to go back over it ......so not sure if that would work out.

Looks sick.

I lost track of this thread for a while but looks like it has resurfaced

It's too bad that the front bumper fit is so terrible... Looks like nothing lines up properly. I know that fiberglass is like that, and the guy is doing a great job, but it would be so much easier if everything fit right from the start.

I'm sure fiberglass is easier to work with than urethane though... Plus, painting urethane is retardedly difficult. Many body shops have no idea what they are doing, and the finish ends up falling off after less than a month

Hope you get some more pics up after this weekend!

The inverted hatch is nice but would look much better in that picture if painted black, IMO.

Wow, i really thought this woulda been done by now lol, but it looks pretty good so far. I really dont feel the doors, and how the front fenders just drop into a 90 degree angle to the door, and the windows and all that, but if you wanted the vents, theres not much you can do

I really think you should add some color and texture contrast though, because without any body lines it just looks wierd. The inverted hatch makes one HELL of a difference in the rear, so that really saves you there

And the front before you modded it reminds me of a miata

but good luck finishing, keep us updated

ok guys.....just got the inverted hatch in yesterday...looks pretty good, well made, I'm going to the shop tomarrow to put it on myself, then i'll snap a few pics...........sorry i haven't been on for awhile, my body mans son has been home from the AIR FORCE, he's my best friends so been hanging with him alot.

ok so i have a secret...............my first import was a 94 acura integra, i loved that thing....it was fun, kinda fell in love with the whole acura/honda scene.........but at the same time, i wanted a 240sx hatch....so thats where i'm at today. In 2000 a car came out that i wanted so bad but at the time, i couldn't afford it...........i just had my integra, and when i bought the 240sx, i wanted a 350z too.......and as you know i bought one.....I found a really good deal on that car i've always wanted(in 2000)...so i flew to cali, and picked it up and drove back to il..............can you guess what car it is??...i've gave you a few clues, i will post the pics of the hatch on car and pics of the new car tomarrow...

with what you have planned and what you've done so far, you should put together a portfolio for the car and try to get sponsorships. offset the cost and speed up the build.

this is taking too long and costing too much $

s2000?? I love this build. I remember reading it when you first started, I think it was before I even joined the forum. I can't wait to see more pictures of the inverted hatch, the only ones you can really find are of the ones in the magazine. Make sure you take pictures of it at several different angles. Good luck, keep it going. Oh and when you get this thing on a magazine cover make sure you represent Nico!!!

Dude that is going to be one insane 240 when you finish it. Nice S2k too. I miss mine. I had a '00 blk/blk/red, but sold it shortly after I got married in '05 and then bought the S14.
