Cheap, nice when modified, rwd, compact, different. Would have gotten an rx-7 but they have no backseat.

I have yet to own one but may look at one tomorrow 1500 bucks, lowered, rims, tortion bar, reliable reputation, rear wheel drive, small, handles, and potential to get bad as hell.

I wanted a RWD Japanese car which was very light and still current to put a V8 into. That and it was a cheap shell.

Other options at the time were a FC, and MK3

no idea kinda like it was fate...originally i wasn't too into cars and just wanted a cheap 00/01 sentra as a nice daily driver. then i saw a 93 hatch in a gas station for sale...i loved the way it looked...and i remembered seeing it in initial d...(thought it was a 180sx) and started researching and getting into it more. the car got sold but i found a better s14 for cheaper and in great condition and i couldn't pass up. it was my first car and i still love it.

it's also a plus that it's rwd and lightweight, as well as being pretty rare and looks good. also i'm not sure if people know what it is since the car came debadged (just the 240sx on trunk)

i was borrowing a 240 while my accord was in the body shop and i fell in love with how it handled and its cool sporty look. its decent on gas and was loads quicker than my accord. i called the guy who i was borrowing it from and asked how much he wanted. $2000 for a 93 with 84k! auto, bit not for too much longer!

I got my first 240 because it was cheap and I liked the way it handledi bought my second 240 because it was cheap and was mechanically sound unlike my first. I bought my third 240 because it was cheap and came with an rb20 but then had to sell my second because I had an explorer and 2 240's and couldn't afford to have 3 cars. I bought my 4th because the body on my 3rd 240 was crap so i needed a good shell for the rb20. so now im left with an unfinished money pit and an explorer

You know what, I pray everyday and try to remember what was it that led me to buy my 240sx. I swear I want to remember so bad, no joke.

Funny thing, when I was a freshman at high school all I could think of was getting a Civic I didn't really care for cars back then neither know much about them. I didn't even know Civics were FWD, now I reflect on those times and tell myself

Yay 700th post!!!!!

Because they have no cup holders, sike, cuz they are CWD Correct Wheel Drive, They can be faster then more or less anything with the same motor ie 2jz 240 faster then 2jz supra, and chicks dig them, well sometimes, ok maybe once in a while.

when i first started looking for cars i never noticed the 240sx... first saw an s14 in a carlot; it "wasnt for sale" but rather was destined for ebay and im not really that into bidding on cars...

then my uncle remembers an old coworker who had one; seafoam green coupe with a blown motor.... also at a dealer, who wanted 1800 for it

after seeing that car just sitting there i knew i wanted one... looked endlessly for one, and finally found my car which i thought was so clean when i bought it and different.

needless to say, its definately overplayed, and theres more and more issues everytime i fix something..

still love it since its my first car and i couldnt justify selling something i spent so much time and money on; but i should've went with an ae86 or an e30 bmw...... lot less around (nice ones anyways) and then perhaps i would have a more unique car

I popped my FC and I wanted either a S13 coupe, a N/A SW20 to do a 5th gen 3S swap, or an EG hatch. I found the S13 first. The rest is history...

I wanted a skyline since I can remember. Then when I was looking at getting a first car I wanted a 280z or 240z.They are mostly cars in my area that seemed to have gotten dumped on or are unaffordable.I was warned against getting a RWD car because I could lose it in the rain and roads blow here in Norfolk. So I got a lightly abused 99 civic SI.I still was pissed I couldn't get the car I wanted. About 6months after I had my first car, I was talking at a party about maybe getting a 240sx project and a guy overheard me and the next day I had a 240sx for $500.
