I had wanted an S13 hatch as my first car for at least a bunch of years. Ever since seeing them on the road and also in Gran Turismo 3, that was the car I wanted. I remember the 95 or 96 180SX in GT3 with the Kouki tails and wanted that one (I think I thought it was a 240 or the game said it was a 240 or something), and eventually when I started looking I found out they didn't come like that in North America, but the Zenki tails were still pretty good.
Then some years later I started to get more serious about a car from a friend of mine getting an Integra. I knew Integras were cheap and I thought they were good cars (2nd and 3rd gen). I was looking for a 2nd gen and they were pretty cheap. After a bit I just got kinda giddy and started searching for Skylines and actually found some cheap ones. GT-S models going for like 5 or 6 K, and then I actually saw some GT-R's for 7-9 K which really got my attention. That was pretty much out of my budget but after I saw those prices for that car I just couldn't look at any other car the same again. I didn't feel the same way about the S13 as I used to, although I definitely still liked it.
So I didn't get a Skyline because it was too much. Then soon after that my bro emailed me this S14 Zenki 240 for sale and I just fell in love with it. 5-speed, good miles, awesome look to it. I never really knew that much about the S14s until around then -- I mean I knew they existed and knew about the Silvia S14s in Japan but didn't really think about it. I thought the car looked amazing and I knew it was solid. Unfortunately that 240 had been sold so I kept looking until I found mine. My 95 LE is my first car.
And btw, since then my love for the S13 has returned. I do like the S14 better but everytime I see an S13 I get all excited. I saw a pignose hatch at a used car dealer a while ago and I felt like I just had to have it. Eventually I'll get an S13, but I'm loving my S14 right now and will likely get more in the future too.
