OK, just wanted to be sure you and others realized this shifting option on the Rogue, can't disagree with your logic.exeunt wrote:Yes I know that, but when I've got such a cool paddle shifter somewhere on the wheel, I'd much rather use it than going all the way back down to the shifter in the middle of a turn. Having my hands on or close to the wheel gives me better control of the car while I'm turning, it would just be nice to have the shifter available to me so that I can make the change without searching for the paddle or going down to the shifter.
I don't think the S model has the light on the cargo hatch like the SL. On your dome lights front and rear check the switch on the light itself on my SL the switch has 3 options, off, on all the time (or till it times out), or on when any door opens. Maybe the S has this option.ajapersuasia wrote:I have the S model AWD and I really think its ridiculous that I dont have a light in the rear cargo area. I would even be happy with the cabin lights remaining on while the rear door was open. I know its an S model but please! Basic lighting for unloading groceries should not be a luxury!
Really really really stupid. Unless there is a light back there that I cant find and then... Im really stupid.
All in all, I do love my Rogue so far.
I kind of prefer this; the hatch is lighter weight and has fewer parts to break/come loose/make noise and fewer seals that could fail. If suppose if it was a simple hinged glass that wasn't power and slid in and out it wouldn't add that much weight but then the hinges would prove unsightly. If it was a power glass it would add a lot of cost because it would need to be able to slide yet still have the defrost wires in it, not to mention the rear end wouldn't be nearly as good looking because it has to be a shape allowing the glass to slide down into the hatch. I really love the light weight and easy handling of the hatch as it is, and how clean and unique it looks with its curvature and no extra hinges and widgets sticking out.rogueish wrote:I wish the back glass would open independantly. That way you could just pop it open drop something in or take something out.And the stuff everybody else said.
Our Expedition had this and it was convenient. Not electric or sliding or anything. Wasn't noticeable at all when you looked at it really. Turn the handle one way and the whole hatch opens, turn it the other way and just the glass opened.EddNog wrote:

Just my $0.02; I don't find it difficult at all to open the hatch to drop something in, plus I always keep the privacy cover shut all the time so I'd still need to open the hatch even if the glass could open, in order to roll the privacy cover back for dropping the item in.

Just curious is your rogue an AWD. I have not experienced the 75-80 mph lack of power/"working hard" sensation if anything it was too easy to run over 80 in my rogue on a recent roadtrip to Boone NC. This was with 2 adults and a generous amount of cargo for the week. Also my mpg on the trip was 25- 28 mpg. I have about 2000 miles on mine maybe yours needs a little more time to break-in.amr40509 wrote:The car is the wife's -- but the thing I'd like to see is a bit more power. It feels good around town... but out on the highway it feels like it's working pretty hard at 75-80mph. When you get up to highway speeds it sucks the gas too at only 22-23mpg. A bit more motor would probably actually help this as it wouldn't have to work as hard.
Her's is an AWD and just passed 2000 miles also.Ticmxman wrote:
