Wind noise. Not the kind that others have described that may be tires, roof rack, or leak around hatch door. I don't have wind noise at all with windows closed. Rather, when the rear passenger windows are open, it's like there is a change in air pressure that is not only loud but actually affects the pressure on the ear drum. It seems like the whole car is vibrating and it is not just loud, it actually hurts the ears! Haven't figured out the cause yet, but am wondering if the windows flex or something when they are open. It is so loud that it makes it impossible to open the rear windows at speeds over 20 mph. It also makes me real glad I got the moonroof. One good thing is that there isn't too much wind blowing in from the front windows when open, at least not for the front passengers. Plenty for the back, though. I bought the car in the winter and it never occurred to me to open the windows and look for noise or vibration. Now I wish I had. I like fresh air rather than air conditioning when the ambient air isn't too hot. So I regret that we can't open the windows now that Spring has sprung!

This is going to become a common complaint as more automakers follow the "form follows function" edict in their design. Something as simple as the design of the outside rearview mirrors can greatly effect interior wind noise. Be careful of add-on accessories. They can cause a lot of noise.

Mine are all very minor. I could probably go on all day why I love this thing. Actually, many of the things I like about it are things some of you DON'T like about it.

I have to agree with the people who noted artist and song title don't display together...or at least rotate...on the Bose display. You have to scan through the display button manually to read everything.

The 12V plug up front is a fake cigarette lighter. They could have put a simple cap on there tied to the thing so you just flipped it open and it stayed right there so you could flip it back into place when you were done. That's how my Beetle was. But no...They put in something you actually have to store somewhere while you're charging your cell phone or plugging in your portable GPS.

The lack of locking gas cap, but I can always get one myself.

The only other thing I can think of...The eye to thread the tow hook into is behind the license plate...you'd have to remove the plate to use it. When my sales rep was giving me the big tour of my new Rogue, he couldn't find it and was getting really frustrated. While he got the manual out, I got under the car.

Me: "Found it!"

Him: "Where is it?"

Me: "Behind the license plate."

Him: "So you'd have to remove the license plate to use it?"

Me: "Yep."

Him: "Well THAT sucks!"

I guess one doesn't expect a sales rep to say that about their product...but he HAD already made the sale.

Mostly this is a great car, possibly outstanding for the price. My nag list:

- window and lock switches aren't lit at night- larger blind spots than I am used to but nothing that a *real* shoulder check can't fix.- heated side mirrors for the folks in northern USA (standard in Canada fortunately)

I had an '02 Altima and the engine decided to ingest a loose screw from the intake tract. I won't go into great detail but the dealer was fair with me so I ended up buying another Nissan.

It came down to an '08 Altima SL or an '08 Rogue SL AWD (no leather but everything else), I let my wife pick and she decided on the Rogue. However before I made the final decision I put an Altima side by side with the Rogue we ended up with, it was a wash on price -- payments would have been exactly the same for either.

So for even money in the Rogue (which is based on the Sentra) I lost the following that would have been included on the Alitma:

LeatherDual Zone Automatic Climate ControlBetter Bose stereo (more speakers)Push Button StarterFront up/down 1 touch windowsKey-fob activated front windowsRemote opening gas flapMore drivers/passenger room (subjective but to me the Altima felt larger)Telescoping wheelSide Mirror integrated turn signalsPassenger 1 touch up/down windowAuto-on headlights

I think thats it. So from a cost perspective you give up quite a bit to gain AWD.

Having said all that I don't regret buying the Rogue at all, I very much enjoy the car and I feel that we made a good choice. We also traded in my Wife's minivan as well so this is now our only car so it makes much more sense as a single vehicle.

You will be happy to know that Nissan has made significant changes to the QR25DE as compared to the one in your Altima.

- Gone is the dual path intake manifold and the troublesome butterfly screws.- More compression, same power (maybe a bit more if you account for the new SAE ratings)- Smoother. At least I think so. This may be partly due to the new balancer system.

-Different color LED display on the radio. It's difficult to see in the direct sunlight.-Brighter or different color lights on climate control knobs. I can never tell if they are on or off when wearing sunglasses-Lighted window controls. I've actually thought about adding some LEDs in it while I try to see if I can hack the auto up/down window feature since the mine didn't include the auto up.( I used to own an eclipse that only had the down feature but you could very easily hack it into doing auto up)-Daytime running lights

Well I just have had my Rogue a week, and have discovered the back window wind syndrome. Never thought to open the back windows in testing cars. Like the previous poster stated...it is not just a wind noise, it creates some sonic pulse frequency that does physically hurt your eardrums and give you a headache. It is so bad I thought my back tires had when flat and pulled over to check.

My noise occurs just over 40mph with either or both rear windows completely down. It stops if windows are only down 2 inches. When windows in rear are down and this occurs...by opening moonroof or front windows lessens it considerably as I think it changes the air flow dynamics that create this "wind pulse monster"

I called the Nissan Customer Service number for North America at the suggestion of the dealers service dept manager. He knew exactly what I was talking about and said it happens in some of there other cars, but does not know the physical reason.

Nissan Customer Service noted problem but said they had not had other complaints. So for all of you that are as annoyed at this as I am and want a fix.... call 1-800-NISSAN1 which is North American Nissan CS Hotline.

Power of the people!! Please call.

I hope some Nissan decision makers read these forum threads. So far, I have to say I really like the Rogue, but I am baffled by some odd exclusions:

- lack of iPod integration. Seriously, shouldn't any 2008 model include a USB connector for an MP3 player? Aux jacks may have cut it as an interim measure but for new models this could be integrated for very little extra money.

- auto headlights. If not light-sensing units, at least kill the lights when the car is shut off and the driver's door opens. Even my Toyota from 1985 had this feature.

- better steering wheel audio controls. See the Mazda 3 for how to get this right - volume is the first thing that should come to hand, followed by track up/down and MUTE! Input source? Leave it off the steering wheel - it's less used and easy to change with the right hand.

- power outlets. An outlet at the bottom of the storage console, underneath the removable bin? How convenient. Put one in the cargo area. For any utility vehicle this should be mandatory.

zesty2b and kev410 almost said it, but the one thing I can think of that I do not like about my Rogue (that hasn't already been said) is the cross-wind noise when the windows are up. If I hit 80mph, and if there is any cross-wind at all, then I get this horrible screeching whistle from the passenger side window.

Aside from this, my only gripes about it are things I can fix myself.

Actually, our SLAWD is better than most for the rear window drumming. In fact, it is known that this pulsing in some cars at some speeds will actually blow out some fixed windows. I agree, it is extremely uncomfortable.

You can alleviate the drumming/pulsing by cracking a front window some.

Side window deflectors (when they become available in the States) will help some, also.

You bring up a design/comfort feature I'd like to see Nissan adopt: Flip-open rear quarter windows. Those little panel-windows at the back would be great for that. It'd be even better if they took the swoop out, making those panels larger for better viz, and offering the flip hinges.

There a few things I would add. The speedometer goes to 160 so about half of it is wasted. I'd also like to see a second 12V plug - there is room to the right of the dash one.

There's one at the bottom of your center console, so that makes two. Unless you mean you wanted to see a second one on the dashboard itself?

Mine doesn't have a 12V outlet in the console. It only has a plug seal. If you pull the seal, there's just an empty hole where the 12V outlet would have been, had Nissan put it there.

Probably... I guess my car wasn't worthy of the $7.98 it would have taken to put in the 2nd outlet. I was just saying that wrtmac might not have one in the console either, but I wasn't very clear on it. Hey, wrtmac! You got an S or an SL?

Interesting. Are you certain?

According to the copy of the window sticker there are two outlets included in the base feature list.

If there really is no power port there, better check with your dealer.

I'm actually very disappointed these days.

I admit, I was wooed by the shiny new paint and the pretty interior and the salesman knew this was my first "new car" purchase on my own, so I got conned.

I feel like I'm driving a very nice... well, nothing. I have the S model, and I have no vanity mirrors, and no light in the cargo area. Things I SHOULD have checked before I sealed the deal, but seriously... I didn't know these were options! I had a piece of **** Blazer as my first car and it had mirrors and a light, so WTF. I can live without lighting on my window switches, but its kind of annoying when I have to fumble around in the dark on the road.

Rides good, gas is good, feels good... I don't know. It just feels empty.

I learned the hard way sometime back to go ahead and spend the extra cash and get some of the extras that will make you happy in the long run.

! love my Rogue except I miss from my MDX -

1) auto headlights2) being able to see miles left until out of gas and mpg and trip miles all at the same time without pushing a button - it is annoying that it flashes when you are almost out of gas - well - I guess that is a good thing...

I do not like how hot the dash over the speedometer gets. I am sure there is a solution to that. I use my sunshield when I park and keep it in the garage but when it is 95 degrees and the sun comes in even while just driving, it heats up that smooth part and radiates in my face.

I did find cool solution to the middle compartment. I will take a pic and post.

I am positive. There is only one.

I just grabbed my window sticker to verify one or two, and all it says is "12-Volt DC Power Outlet"

The second one is in the center compartment. Take out the basket and there it is!

Base S models do not come with 'dual' 12V plugs. SL's get a second one in the centre console storage area.

This is mentioned on both the Nissan Canada and USA websites (see Interior section):
12-volt DC power outlet - STwo 12-volt DC power outlets - SL
http://www.nissanusa.com/rogue/specifications.html
Two 12-volt power outlets (one outlet for S)

Owned the Rogue now almost 4 months and just turned 4,000 miles on her.

A few things I'm not happy about, but they're just nits.

1. The heater seems to always be on comming out of the dashboard vents. I close them now.2. Blink spot. Car does have a bad one but Nissan compensates with huge rear view mirrors that work nicely.3. Windshield wipers - first, having two sizes is a pain when replacing, but more of a nuisance is the the line of the pax windshield wiper (outer edge line) is right in front of the drivers face.4. It aint a Jeep.

I can live with these nits.

Solid points I like ...

Hauled kayaks, bikes and a small jon boat with no problems.

Good accelaration for a 4-cyl. Nice handling. Comfortable ride. Especially on long distances.

Awesome sterio.

Better than expected gas milage.

I have an S - so there is no 12v in the console. That seems like a weird place to put one, I'd have located it so a rear seat passenger could use it.By the way - just went on a 4000 mile trip and with the standard seats, it was very comfortable.
