still cant find my camera, so i took my mom's hers is better anyways.

to start heres some better pics of the subframe^ just begging for ES bushings

heres a good pic of the temp sensor pipe as well

i spent a little time cleaning all the dirt and crap off of the passenger side axle and paint it with rust eliminating semi gloss blackpreppedpaintedthe paint (and the primer im using on certain underbody areas)

one of the parts i was waiting for came in, 100 square feet of fatmat sound deadening materialeverything in the interior is getting covered with this stuff for a nice quiet ride.

i took a little bit of time working on the underbody then. i cut off the the driver side tow hook that always interferes with the muffler. VV

i didnt get any pics of the underside progress since every time i was under there i was trying to push ahead. basically i sanded down the under side of the spare tire area and surrounding area. the drill with wire wheel attachment worked the best especially on spots were a spray on under coating was used. . its coming along and i sprayed a rust converter on the rear exhaust hanger thing. after i get everything cleaned up i'll wash it down and wipe it with paint thinner then coat with the truck bed liner.

heres a shot of my work area setup complete with flood light

also check out the camaro build im gonna update that in the morning. its my bed time now

thanks man, glad your enjoying the pics. i wanted to get more progress done today, but i got done at 4pm and not only was it overcast and getting dark soon, it was raining . it's really pissing me off, every day i've had off in the past 2 weeks (2 days total) its been raining and i couldnt get anything done. all that got done today was the rlca's and uprights got taken to have the bushings and ball joints removed. i stopped by before they closed and they still weren't ready yet they'll be ready tomorrow but i work all day, so my dad will be picking em up and i'll clean em up and put the new bushings in on saturday

got a few pics for ya nothing special. i didnt get over to wok on my car til 5ish and of course it was dark. before going over there i stopped to pick up my uprights and rlca's that were having the bushings pressed out. i get there and they're sitting by the door with a tag on them that says "no luck" and nothing was removed. i took them over to another amish shop and they'll try and let me know tomorrow if they can do it or not. then i got a phone call from fedex to inform me that they tried to deliver my pineapple bushings and no one was home to sign. they'll try to deliver them 2 more days before i can pick them up . i did manage to stretch a long *** hose over to my car and thoroughly wash and scrub the underside. it was freezing cold and took forever, but its worth it. tomorrow im giving it a good coat of xo rust black before brushing on the truck bed liner. i didnt get any underside pics since it was dripping wet, but heres a few i snapped for ya.

my suspension bits (mad thanks to didderson for the brohan hook up on the price)

one of the front strut top hats has a wobble since it was in an accident, so im gonig to rent a spring compressor and remove the bad tophat to install one from my stock suspension. sorry for the pics, some got an odd fuzziness to them and i have no idea why.

heres another pics for you, and nicely cleaned up fuel pump cover piecey

i work a double tomorrow, but the game plan at this point is to head over after work, even thoguh it'll be dark, and spray on the xo rust and start the bed lining. after the bed lining is complete, i'll be vacuuming and cleaning the interior before installing the fatmat. after the fat mat is down i'll install the rear interior pieces and install the battery box and tri brace after the carpet is down. after the battery box and brace are in i can reinstall the gas tank and rear subframe. i pretty much have to do everything in this order since one thing HAS to get done before the next can get done, its like dominoes. thats the breakdown of the next couple days. i'm going to pull as many late nights as i have to to get this done cuz i want to drive it asap.......plus my dad said it has to be done before it snows

it looks like my updates arent good enough to get comments , jk, but right now they arent cuz its been slow going. i have thursday off all day to get some work done, but it started to snow today a little, so now i'm in overdrive to at least get this to a point where it can be pushed into the garage, so i got someone to cover my shift tomorrow so i have 2 days off in a row to go to town. first thing on my list tomorrow is to pick up my rlca's and uprights. i got a call from miller's saying they were done and they got everything out. i couldnt pick em up today thoguh since i was at work. i'm also gonna contact fedex and try to pick up my subframe bushings since they keep trying to deliver them when no one is home

Looking good WC... I managed to sell my maroon shell so I've got quite the update coming for my build... Should be nice once I get everything done. You don't happen to have any extra set of s13 ruca's laying around do ya? I need a set...

I've also been trying to figure out if I should buy my forged piston's right now or finish the suspension work that it needs.... I'm workin in the same condition's so I feel ya with the flood light and cold weather. Sucks! I hate Indiana and not havin a garage!

heres a nice little update for everyone with plenty of pics. i started the day by picking up my p2m parts from ups.3 inch gasket for "cat"es pineapple subframe bushings

next i went and picked up my rlcas and upright from the machine shop that pressed all the bushings out of them.

the first thing to do then was to show the old ball joints who's boss. i secured it in the vice then my brother took the oxy acetylene torch to it as i gently caressed it with the bfh. and finally the semi-finished product, just waiting to be cleaned up, painted and have new ball joints installed

i also had the upright to deal with. while i had everything apart i figured i'd just remove the last 4 bolts holding the hub on and take off the dust shield, instead of being ghetto and cutting it it. sounds easy enough right? wrong! after the bolts were removed it took the jaws of life to get the bearing and hub separated from the upright. uprights how they were when i picked em up4 bolts removedthe rest was just a big mess of fighting until it got to this point

i have more pics of the process, but i didnt want to put em all up since i'll be doing a dust shield removal how to, and i dont want to out the same pics up twice.

the other main project was trimming the sub frame bushing sleeves since they were a little too long.pretty easy just measure, cut, repeat until they are all satisfactory

finally ti,e to install them

on the list for tomorrow is sanding and painting the rlcas and uprights and installing the es bushings in those. i'm also gonna spend more time actually under the car and possibly ever get the sub frame reassembled. giggty giggty goo, stick around.

Those sub frame bushing's look really good! How much were they and where'd ya get em? lol i need to do this on my car since mine are all wore out. I have the same issue with my ball joint's in my rlca's 2. Did you just pick up oem replacement's for those? How long did it take you to get the ball joints out once you had the torch on it? I'll be doing the same thing before my 5 lug swap goes onto my red shell... I'm in the process of swapping suspension's, hub assembly's and brakes around between my red and maroon s13's...

well to answer all your questions, the bushings are ES pineapple bushings that came from p2m. as far as price...heres a link!http://phase2motorsports.store....htmlthe rear ball joints are front ball joints for a b12 sentra. they fit perfectly and are better then b13 joints. advanced auto had a part number for s13 rear ball joints but the s13 ones are $40 a piece and the b12 ones were $52 for the pair. it didnt take long at all to get the old ones out.i was being careful with the first one and hitting it lightly. with the second one i went ape**** and 2 hard blows was all it took. but keep in mind the heat was from a heavy duty oxy acetylene torch not a dinky little propane one. the shop that pressed out the bushings tried to do the ball joint, but it was in so tight it woudl have bent the rlca, so this wouldnt have been possible without lots of heat. i'm uploading some pics and will have another update shortly

Thats an interesting bit of info. Ive never heard about issues with the S13 ball joints. Whats the difference between the two?

oo i forgot did you ask if your using the type x rear spoiler hatch?

if your red hatch didnt have a spoiler and is solid i might be interested in it eventually... no rush i got plans to do some paint touch ups in the spring and they did a crappy job on my rear hatch the last time....

same with the piggy bumper lol if and when you want to get rid of either of those ill take em off your hands

i think i'll be using the red hatch to mount the spoiler on. i could swap the black hatch on but i dont feel like splicing all the wires for defroster and brake light stuff. i'd sell my black hatch for real cheap, its already got holes for type x wing

bumpers all you though, let me know when you want it, im trading my spare pignose carpet for a chuki bumper
