sr is lighter just put a sr in a friends car an it now sits like 4 inches higher than befor

There should be an ID tag on the center cartridge. It SHOULD look something like this:

I am a 300zx owner but thinking about going 240sx, I would most likely get a junker and do an SR swap. I live in south fl, its hot and AC is a must. So if an engine comes with a compressor what is needed? and if it doesn't have a compressor what is the best way to get a/c?

You can use the KA compressor from what I understand. Speaking of AC, I need to a** that now I am moving to south Florida.

Electrical question. Got some glowshift gauges (I know they aren't Defi or any of those other $200+ ones but they work), they work really well aside from my oil pressure showing that I have a drop in pressure whenever I use anything electrical (Brakes ((the lights im guessing)), windows, headlights)

Question: Is it ground related? We thought it was so we moved the ground from the motor mount to the intake manifold and I still have the same issue. Maybe its an issue with where the power is coming from (i.e. not enough)?

Also, are the dash clusters known to go out? Mine reads almost twice the speed about 80% of the time and my odometer rarely moves.

90% of the time your engine will come with the compressor and cut A/C lines. All you need to to is just get your lines that are in the car and the cut sr lines welded and there you bo you have A/C. The stock A/C lines will not line up right with the Sr compressor. Make sure you ask your local shop or whoever you get your motor from if it has A/C most times they get several in at once and most of the engines will have A/C

Quick question. Can I run an s14 SR stock smic bov on my s13 sr smic?
I just picked up an s13 smic but it doesn't have its bov, but I would like to retain the stock placement of the bov.
Thanks

Hello does anybody know if an IACV from a 90 sohc ka24e will work on a 92 ka24de? I know that s13 and s14 ka24de motors do not have compatible IACV's, but im not sure if the incompatibility applies to s13's with different engines.

I have purchased a 1991 240sx with a blown Ka24e and it comes with an uninstalled Ka24de with 90,000km's from a 93 donor car both standard transmission, now the questions

there was a step by step how to on this swap and it made it seem like it could be done in a fairly short amount of time,

Question 1: Is it a straight swap? like will all of the wiring from the Ka24e work with the Ka24de

Question 2: The blown engine comes with 550cc fuel injectors are those transferable to the Ka24e I have read that they dont fit because the twin cam uses a different fuel injectors just wanted to get more input

Question 3: blown ka24e has a injen cold air intake, is it transferable to the de with some cuts if necessary?

Question 4: I do not want to remove the air conditioning but the Ka24de did not come with a compressor, the DIY on swapping the engines said " Step 4. Remove A/C lines. You will have to get custom lines made if you want to keep A/C, OR make a custom bracket for your SOHC compressor to adapt to the new motor." Has anyone else done this and kept the A/C? if so let me know what you did

Here are some pictures of the car it was bought for 2500 with the new engine, no rust all undercoated but It needs to be painted, Im going to get it done black coilovers and change the tail lights to stock or kouki Whats your input?

not a bad car on qustion 1 not sure but i dont think it is a stright swap some wires are diffrent best to get a de harness an ecu. an number 2 the injectors will not fit i hace a sohc motor layn around they are not the same an number 3 it will fit but you will have to cut it down a bit where it gose on tb cause it will be to long an as for number 4 i dont know i just take the ac off i live in mo it only gets to 105 at most round here so i just take sun roof off lol.
