Better is a Z32 (larger, more pistons). Both use the backing plates so the difficulty is the same.

Another Noob question:
Do all J30's have a VLSD?...or was it an option? Also, If I am swapping into an S13, I should be looking for one without ABS...right?

You see how the first one is just like blocks? Well the second two have projectors, but they are placed differently. I prefer the middle ones where the projector is centered.

So what is the middle one? Japanese? Usdm? And how much for a set of them, nothing special just stock
First link is aftermarket crappy lights.
Second pic are USDM headlights.
Third pic are European headlights.
(I think :) )

Haaa yeah I did some research, I guess the centered projectors are us, off center proj. is japan and euro. Other IS crappy haaa

Okay so I'm still looking at this kouki, pretty sure i'm going to get it. Trading my '90 auto s13 + 4k :)
I'll start a thread when I get it :)

So I'm in cali, LA area and I want to fix the cosmetics of the kouki first. I WANT THE REAR VALANCES!!! WHERE are they sold?
As well as the kouki jdm wing. and is a 3 piece wing? or 1 big plastic piece?

I'm not really sure if they all came with LSD, but I think they did. You can get one from ABS or not, it just depends on how much "plug and play" you want. Just jack it up, put it in neutral, spin one drive wheel. If the other drive wheel spins in the same direction, you've got a limited slip diff on your hands. Check half shafts, make sure they are the same bolt pattern.

With enough money, anything is possible, but that is a HUGE project. The fact that you are even asking usually signifies it's out of your skill range.

Hey got a quick question!
I know the s14 booster fits into a s13, but i was wondering if all i have to do is relocate the vacuum line to the other side of the booster, and will the s13 master just bolt and slide right on?

S13 master will fit right on. IIRC, yes, just the vacuum line.

I'm finally starting to put money into my car now that i have some cash in my pocket and i am looking at redoing the Brakes, Struts, Coilovers, suspension, etc.

What kind of Brake system should i look at?
- Brembos seem way to crazy for me and im not looking to make it a track car just a really fun daily driver that i can mess around in
- what is a good place to get roters and would slotted and cross drilled make drifting too difficult?

Struts
- do i need these if i get Coilovers or do they work the same way?
- if they go separately then what would a could strut company be?

Coilovers
- i know i want fully threaded Coilovers but what company would be good?

Suspension
- the sway bars are important and mt friend was telling me about white-field being a good company?
-would lowering the car help with sway?

yes i apologize for all the questions but im just really starting out and i want to do everything on my own, so that i can learn about all of this. but as of right now i have a bone stock 98 240sx and she needs a lot of work.

thanks

Brakes- the best bang for your buck is a 300zx (Z32) conversion. Drilled and slotted rotors will have no bearing whatsoever on drifting.

If you get coilovers, you completely remove your stock struts and springs.
If you want a strut/spring combo, you'd look into something like KYB AGX struts, and Eibach Sportline springs.

Coilovers- Company? Take your pic, you more or less get what you pay for. Tein has been around forever. The lower the spring rate number, the softer the ride.

White-line sway bars (I think that's the name of the company) makes a good set of sway bars.
Lowering the car doesn't really have the same effect as changing sway bars.

98 240 eh? Post some pics!

And yeah, Those z32 brakes are the best deal? Are they the same as the r32 brakes?

I dont believe those sides are aftermarket... when i see '97 koukis those sides seem to be pretty standard so im thinking maybe jdm but dont take my work for it i am kind of a n00b.

There's a lot of things that could probably be done at 200k. All your bushings are probably due, along with suspension dampers. Ball joints, tie rod ends, valve cover gasket, front and rear main seals, clutch (if it hasn't been done yet). Any original hoses are probably due, etc.

Is there an easier way to move or spin my rotor button so i can line it up at tdc on cylinder 1 than taking the distributor cap off and turning the motor till it lines up? I am trying to do it myself and getting in and out of car and trying over and over isnt working well...

Okay i cant delete my questions in this thread i guess? In that case i will answer it.
YES, there is a much easier way, called the right way. Apply 27mm socket to front main pulley and spin clockwise. Sorry i didnt look hard enough for answers before posting the first time, its sometimes hard when you don't know the correct search queries.

the reason i ask is because each one has their own part number and have different prices yet they have the same specs at autozone

is it true that using a aftermarket clutch for daily driving won't last as long as a stock type one?

Usually yes. They are meant to be grippy not last forever. A Nissan OEM replacement is a good idea, so is Exedy or Spec stage one.
