I just installed the intake, but I'm having a problem with it. The MAF senor cable does not even touch the hood liner, but the heat shield is pressed pretty tightly against the fuse box, battery cage and the battery cables. I'm worried about it cutting some of the wires from the battery, so anybody else had this problem and have a fix for it? I tried pushing the filter past the stop, but it won't budge. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Calm down forum police ......It's only my first post......anyway I wasn't sure which thread that should be posted in. I will just start a new thread next time.

but on the other hand a simple pm would have sufficed.

sorry for offending anyone.

does anyone know about this??? i want to put it to rest and switch it if it's a bad thing, or just leave it and not worry that i'll be harming anything.
Hey man, the CCV box is removed so I don't quite understand your questions. What 'lobes'? If you want send me a pic so I can see what you're talking about.

And Drootz... as far as I know, this isn't CARB approved yet. However, when I ordered it I was told it should be CARB approved soon. Had no timeline as to when though.

To all those with "mismatched" heat shields:

After numerous calls and emails back and forth with Injen, we have confirmed their production issues with the black and polished intakes, and corresponding heat shields.

ALL Injen intakes, regardless of color ordered, are designed to come with a polished head shield. My understanding is that on occasion Injen has done some special orders with a matching black heat shield for black intakes at an additional cost and time delay.

Due to some issues with personnel and quality control, some heat shields were coated black, and (as you all well know by this thread), were arbitrarily packed and shipped without concern of matching colors.

So those of you with the black heat shields, that is an upgrade from Injen, those with a polished heat shield, the kit came as it was intended. We have checked our existing inventory, and will update our web descriptions, as to not confuse folks in the future.

Feel free to contact anyone here at STILLEN with any additional concerns, and we apologize for the confusion/issues with these Injen intakes.

Thats kind of sad... I didnt know that there would be a "lottery" aspect of getting matching parts... i guess its not stillen's fault, but what a gyp out of Injen... lemme guess, if i pay extra they can make it so it wont rub on the hood too? im dissapointed

I think PM's between members about trading shields would be a good idea if you guys want to swap.

Thats fixed. Now it rubs against the fuse box and battery/computer support, lol.

See that the MAF sensor adapter is angled forward and doesn't stick straight up anymore?

But the heat shield hits the fuse box, and I think its eventually going to scrape a hole in it.

The other side of the heat shield hits the support for the battery/computer.

I installed my intake today and what a difference it made. Now it sounds like there is a pissed off little motor inside the engine bay now and all of the power is unleashed especially at 5000rpm man it sounds wicked i love it. The little VQ motor is awesome and it sounds better than my last ride and it was a six liter V8 and I had a K&N CAI on it, and the only thing it increased was gas consumption but enough about that I love the car and my intake. Thanks everyone for going in on the intake deal thank you kyle for getting the deal situated also. I am gonna go burn up the road now later everyone.

You mean there was a lottery and I actually won??? I never win anything.

Black intake + Black heat shield =

And by the way, I love the forum and the organized group buy. I probably wouldn't started any mods yet if it wasn't for you guys. Can't wait for the springs! Awww ... I just broke my nicoclub posting virginity
