It's late right now so I can't go check but I'll look tomorrow before I go to work and post here to let you know if I have that problem or not. If I do I'll take a pic or two and post it for you. The MAF does stick up and probably touches the hood liner but unless there's some real serious vibration I don't think it will rub too bad. We'll know more tomorrow!

My black Injen for 6mt V6 and Stillen wings came in today, unfortunately I was already gone to work... Hopefully I can get up early tomorrow and install before coming to work.

Then I need to find a place to paint my wings!

There is slight hood rubbing but nothing serious. I put electrical tape around it so it shouldn't cause any damage.

if you guy look at that thread/OP closely, he has a 2.5SL Sedan... from what I've read the coupes havent had much of an issue aside from the 2.5 6MT coupe and the fitment issue on it... But i guess thos that have it already will have better knowledge to chime in with

Yeah, I've got the 2.5 w/ CVT and there is definitely a spot where you can see that it's rubbing. Putting electrical tape over the MAF connector should get rid of the sharp(er) edges and minimize the risk of tearing a hole but I've gone over 1000 miles with the Injen on so far and it doesn't seem to do much more than leave a smudge. Still, I will be putting electrical tape over the connector tonight before I leave work because it does look like with enough time it may tear a hole in there.

It's still a good deal and worth it to do this upgrade IMO!

The 3.5 6-Spd looks like it has plenty of clearance.

17 freakin degrees outside, my hands are numb and after a half a pot of coffee, the Injen is installed! The Injen combined with the Stillen exhaust sounds great! You can definatley feel a difference in power and it just growls when in Idle. Funny thing is, after I took it for a test drive, I rev'd it a couple of times before shutting her down. When I came into the house, my wife asked me if I had my bike out. I just looked at her loving ly and played dumb and said, "No sweetheart, I was just working on the car is all". I guess she'll figure it out when she takes my car out for a drive. Wheels and a drop is next on the list!

That's why I decided to go with the Fujita. No risk of rubbing with the MAF positioned on the side rather than on the top. ^_^

Did you recieve your Fujita yet? I'm wondering how the quality is. I may be selling/returning my INJEN, I think the quality of it is a joke. I could have made one as good with some exhaust pipe, torch, and a welder.

So i may think about going with Fujita as well

Where exactly is it rubbing again? I'm assuming since the MAF is on the top, it's rubbing on the hood liner? Can someone confirm this?

Ok so it clears the 3.5 models but it's rubbing on the 2.5s...Well that sucks. I know I would be annoyed if it were happening to me. Can't they just take a little section out of the hood liner so it clears it?

Yeah, I got it and installed it. Ordered it on Monday, the 21st and received it on Wednesday, the 23rd for 169 on ebay. Installed it in about a half-hour. Sounds nice and definite power gains. MAF placement is defenitely much better with no rubbing (kinda hard to rub when it's on the side of the intake). I'm very happy with the purchase, even thought it didn't come with a heat shield, which, in my opinion, would only marginally mitigate the heat from the transmission.

That sucks man,... I just popped open my hood and saw that there was no rubbing so I guess I'm good. Sucks for you guys with the 2.5 though..

Yeah, but it's like someone else said, a little electrical tape should minimize the effect. If it causes any real damage do you think Injen is liable? I'll make a stink about it if they are!!

lols minimize doesnt make much a difference it still damges it in the end well this sucks for us 2.5 guys cudda sworn when i ordered it people were saying it was just a problem for the mt cars n the cvt wud clear

well say tihs on page 1 of the forum "Also regarding 2.5 MT intakes. We have worked with one of our customers and we may have come up with a fix for the 2.5 MT that will make the intake fit. I don't want to say exactly what it is yet because we are doing some testing still but I will let you know ASAP." from kyle lol hope he wasnt refering to puttin a peice of tape on it

I put on the electrical tape just in case. I have a 3.5 and according to others it shouldn't be a problem for me. I was not concerned about the damage it might do to the hood but the damage it might do to the MAF. So if was everyone (even the 3.5 owners) I would just put the electrical tape just in case. Maybe I am just anal about it lol.
