Stillen gave me the privilege to install the first set of their hood dampners. I will shoot pics of the finished product tomorrow

LOL.. enjoy your night.. no one doubts your passion..

Thanks for coming down and spending some time beating us up for you and your fellow Altima owners.. it truly is nice getting to chat with enthusiasts.. and gets us fired up..

LOL.. you did NICO proud.. first words out of Blakes mouth was "soo.. let's talk about the new products you guys need to develop.. "

It was honestly a refreshing take on things.. the more you're excited, the easier it is to get everyone excited and on board to develop the parts you guys want to see.. :D

Right, so you want to make sure to install the top brackets catch ball facing outward. I installed it facing inward and couldn't figure out why it was hitting the back of the engine bay. This is why we read the instructions throughly

So here they are

Do not install the top bracket ball this way (facing inward), this is how i messed up at first

Install it this way, it works much better

Also, this is the lower bracket installed

I'm not going to do a full install write up because the Stillen instructions explain it well

Yup they are as simple as unscrewing the original bolts and screwing them back in with the Stillen brackets connected. Really only took me about 20 min. But i switched the upper brackets as i said before, so i had to redo them The should be in production early next week

I felt the same. but then i thought of a scenario, lets say you strip down your gf's pant, would you prefer shes wearing a granny panty or a thong???

Yeah yeah, I agree. Can you throw in a set of Vinyl Stillen stickers to put on the side of the dampeners? That would look hot!

wow so you didn't have to drill any holes? my heart stopped at least 10 times when I was drilling holes for my redline hood dampers.

Btw, your dampers are upside down

dunno if it matters but mine are mounted like this, as shown in the instructions:

Yea the Stillen instructions show it mounted with the gas (thick) side down. It shouldn't really matter. I used to have a set of Redline quicklifts on my Eclipse. The Redline kit requires you to have rivets, rivet gun, drills, bits, all kinds of stuff 70% of people don't have. Which means you will have to spend more money and buy them. Not to mention the install process of drilling holes through your body to install the brackets by rivet. Stillen's requires you to remove 2 bolts per side, 4 bolts total. Stillen's takes 20 min and almost no mechanical skill to install. Redlines takes over an hour and you have to know you way around many tools. IMHO. Stillen > Redline. Also the production set of Stillen's hood dampners might have the logo or something to distinguish them. Can't say for sure though.

Wow, stillen ones sound much more user friendly. How much do they cost?

Yeah I did spend a good hour installing the redlines. The redlines look better IMO :P

definetly redline looks nicer, but stillen seems alot easier to install, just that i wish it wasnt that stock looking... i want something other then black and atleast have the stillen logo or SOMETHING haha

price im assuming isnt cheap... id have to hope for a group buy!

The pricing should be in the $110-140 price range, judging on their other sets. Also i just got word that Stillen will be testing out the logo on Monday to see how they turn out
