I'm definitely in if there's a group buy for these!

C'mon Kyle or Josh...Can you please work your magic

Good god....that price is outrageous!

I paid $100 for mine. Its $120 straight from redline, and this is the elite version. There's a cheaper version for about $75. Its powder coated black instead of chrome.

I even bought a rivet gun and it totalled less than that!

But hey....good luck with sales.

Whoa Whoa. I said judging by there other sets. On the other cars sets for sale on Stillens website they average about that. These could be considerably less. Keep your panties in a bunch guys... Also with the cost of the Redline hood damnpners + rivet gun + rivets + drill + drill bits + over an hour of install. I'm sure you can see the price even out.

I'm not at the office, I don't have the final pricing, but the other kit we have for the Mustang is $75, I would imagine it would be in that ballpark.

We do carry some TEIN dampers for the Z's and G's that run for $140.. perhaps that's the confusion.

Like I mentioned before, I'll get it up on the web first part of next week.

I'm not trying to kill sales or anything, but that claim is just plain ridiculous.

Tools can be reused. The money you invest in making your life easier, can't.

The redline kit came with all the mounting hardware you need (rivets included). You just need the drill and rivet gun.

But hey, if you guys are willing to pay more to save 30 minutes of your life, then go for it.

I personally think it makes more sense to invest in the tools and spend a little more time on the installation.

edit:$75 is more like it!

I still can't justify spending 75 or 100 dollars on something that holds a hood open. I'm sry guys..

man, i have never used a rivet gun nor plan on using one in the future. i don't even have a friend that owns one so I can borrow it. IMO plug-n-plug is easier and I'd be willing to pay for the simplicity of design.

JUST to add, spike those redlines are hotness though

You can when your hood prop rod holder snaps and starts dangling in your engine bay....also, I've had a few close calls with the hood slamming on my head because the prop rod is so poorly designed, that the wind could blow the hood further open and lift the prop rod out of place.

So....$100 on hood lifts? Or $100+ for stitches on your head.

HAHAA, totally reminds of a story of a friend who was helping his GF change a headlight bulb in the dark with a small flashlight (not an altima) the hood fell on his head 3 times in the process...he was pissed. Poor guy

Shift_Altima, I think that's the same for any aftermarket part, either it matters to you or it doesn't. We understand that completely.

The hood prop can be a nightmare when performing installs, or anything requiring access to the engine bay, and sometimes plays even more havoc with people other than you using it (outside mechanics, friends, whoever, etc.) that are not familiar with your hood prop setup, and love to try to play "find the hole" with the stick.

It just allows for easy, unobstructed access to the engine bay, and simple unlatch-done operation of the hood.

Well ofcourse for a car enthusiast who enjoys modifying his car.. this can be great. Especially if u go show off ur car at car shows and have the hood open. The dampers look really good if you do that. But for me to go throw them on and have a stock engine with an intake (ooohh!!) it's just not worth it. But obviously to each his own. I'd prefer spending money on something like a drop or sway bar

i understand the prop rod thing, i was working around the grill...trying to remove it, almost hit the prop rod out of the hood by bumping it a few times, god it scared me.

Well where would you spend your money if you already had a drop and sway bar?

LOL.. well hopefully you'll take us up on our turbo kit being built right now..

You've made a good point.. I'll work on STILLEN throwing in the hood dampers for free with your turbo order.. you know you'd have to show off the engine then..

that's fair right?

Fair enough. Or how about you trhow in the turbo kit with the dampner order either way.. I've got a LONNNGGG while before forced induction. I'm glad it's on its way though. When I hit 50-60k and im really starting to get bored of my car then forced induction will work well. I should be commuting \to school next semester about 60 miles a day 5 days a week.. so 50-60 shouldnt take long. But seriously.. consider the free turbo kit with the dampner purchase

I'm not the guy dealing with the bottom line.. in my eyes that sounds like an awesome plan... altima's would rule the streets.

damn.. 60 miles a day.. I respect your pain.. I'm at about 45 and it's rough.. 59K on an '04 G35.. and with the most awesome part, premium gas, that was a nice $3.71/gallon filling up tonight.. WTF??

Wait a minute..Stop the Press! Did I read that right? Stillen is coming out with a turbo for the coupe. I'm sure that is only for the 6MT coupes but how about us Lame-O's that bought it with the CVT? Since the CVT can only handle up to (i think) 300hp IS there anything in the "works" for that? Oh please say that you do! If so..Stillen is the Shiz-nits!!!

The kit he was referring too is the one being developed for the 2.5. Their 2.5 is a CVT. As far as the CVT goes, Stillen has also received word from Nissan Engineers that the CVT can hold up to around 380hp.

Dude, these are nice but I can't justify spending 75 on them since like someone else already put it, all they do is, 'hold up the hood'.

I hate the hod rod prop just as much as the next guy but we need a special nico group buy before they become available to the 'general public' at a very reduced price.
