It made my sub hit much harder and now it has a much cleaner sound its really nice, and doing the doors made those speakers louder. And doing the mounting shelf for the back speakers and the fender well under it made those much clearer.
Armstec_S13 wrote:Will do, gonna need it, ls2 swap goin in and I know that exhaust is gonna be loud as fluck.
Most definitely. I didn't realize how much quieter it made my exhaust until I got into my friend Jimmy's car today, and they used to be equally as loud, and now I can barely hear myself think after being used to my car. I cant wait till I have my full trunk interior back in.... that will help a lot.

It really is the same stuff. I think I may get some of that carpet insulation too. I see that helping a good bit.

Just wait until it gets hot outside. When you car bakes in the sun it will heat up, smell, and slide off vertical panels.

There's a reason why sound deadening is more expensive, it does what it supposed to. This stuff is designed to go on the outside of your house where there is ventilation and the smell is never an issue. Trapped inside a car in 90-100 degree weather, good luck on that one.

I don't live on a frying pan so it won't bother me. Besides, the trunk lid I bought had dynamat on the back of it and IT fell down. I took it off and have a better plan for that

maybe, but the roof has a headliner to kinda help with that. your car isn't going to get as hot as a heat gun. Which was posted...

ah I see, but IF there's a little tar smell, I'd deal with it. It's a 240 not a Rolls Royce. A bangin system or being able to talk to the other person in the car is worth it.

Yea, it is.

Hey does anyone happen to notice in s13's with aftermarket exhausts, the noise gets louder when there's more ppl in the car than compared just by your self?

Haha, I thinks it's just because when you are alone your not trying to talk to anyone so you dont notice how much of a disruption it actually is. When you are trying to talk to one of the other ocupants of the car is when you actually realize how loud it really is. Thats my theory...

Actually I don't usually talk it just sounds like its getting louder. My car has the oddest tone to it so it might be the that note its humming, you know.

I ill drive around at 1500 in first and its not loud but like a very low hum its enough to set of some car alarms. and like im just thinking wtf, sensitive... but Ive had it happen several times now.

and same applies in the car at around 3000 rpms the noise in the cabin is almost completely gone, after 3000 rpms it will get a little louder but not to much. at certain points still after it will be very loud and then not loud. its just so odd.

Think i should install a resonator... LOL the thing im most concerned about is the cabin noise first. And i need to find a way to do it so that's why im following this thread so closely. hehe

I would put a resonator on it, but the things in this thread are really good ways do decrease cabin noise and vibrations. I wanna take that paint stuff and do under my car, but I'm wondering if rubber under coating will work the same.

Yeah my SR is way quieter than my old KA.

theres a little metal clip that holds the lever its right behind the handle, get a screwdriver or pliers and just push it out.

I'm going to try this in my 300zx, in the summer with the tops off the road noise gets unbearable at times. So i'm going to give this a try threw the whole car and see what happens.

okay so finally got the subframe and everything put back together last night and went for a drive for the first time with the peel and seal stuff too...well i have mixed feelings. yes the road noise is significantly less and the car feels more solid (no rattling) and my s***ty sound system now sounds decent.

BUT it seems my exhaust sound actually sounds got deeper a little bit louder... mayb ill just put the silencer back in for daily driving.

Thats so wierd that it would do that. Maybe put some insolation in that hole in your trunk on the exhaust side.

I know deadener will help eliminate sound on the higher end of the spectrum. But low tones still penetrate, but hearing the exhaust will be kinda defined in a way. Since a lot of the other noise is cut out.
