Dynomat is made out of the same exact material and it been used for years and I have never heard anyone saying anything about the stuff smelling like tar.

Yeah, like I said the only time I smelt something was when I zoned out and left the heat gun on one spot for a whole minute almost and it burnt it. haha... Gotta love A.D.D.

The stuff at my local lowes isn't the same as yours. I meant to take a pic before a ripped it open, but it's made by Grace or something like that. It's $30 for 50ftx9in. It doesn't have the metal backing, it looks like some kind of synthetic plastic stuff. I don't know if it works as well as the stuff you're using.

i don't think its AS thick but its close. Im just doing the inside of panels mainly. for the actual metl Im going to use dynamat.

Also, for anyone whos still for some reason hesitant about the smell, there is none. like the others I used a heat gun and there was no odor

I dont think so I just got mine like a week and a half ago.

It's not really a problem, I just don't really see it benefiting much. Most vibrations come from the metal..

The s13 seats do have metal on the back of them. Putting the sound deadening there may help but, I truly don't no. Hell thought, as cheap as this stuff really is it wouldn't hurt to try.

The Grace product is 25mil thick. That sucks... I guess it will be a nice bottom layer until I can get ahold of this peel & seal stuff.

I read some more on it and you can actually spray it under your car. That really is perfect and I will definitely be trying it out...

To be honest, I thought this thread was full of fail when I read the title, now I stand corrected.

That's pretty awesome, you always hear about people taking out the factory sound deadning, you're actually installing it.

I will be doing this to my coupe now.

Should have done a vid of before and after.

people take the factory stuff out b/c it suck donkey balls. A lot of people install dynamat, fatmat, etc to quiet the loud exhausts, and make sound systems perform better. But that shizz is expensive. I'm putt this stuff on my xmas list lol. cheap and by what it sounds like, just as effective.
