this is where the section is puzzling me..

usdm pink & red/yellow have to be grounded to the chassis..shouldnt it be grounded to the chassis in the 1st place?

cuz the jdm analog and digital are grounded to the chassis in the 1st place.guess i dont have to cut any wire over here.

but the Q is... where are the usdm pink & red/yellow connected to originally?

well i found the power wire to it but it still has one problem. When recurc is turned on it will just keep going open and closed spinning and not stop untill you turn recurc off, then it opens the intake vent and stops. not sure why... ill try my other dcc unit and see what it does.

I am curious since some the parts needed can come from the Maxima can I get the main climate control unit and whatever is need from the donor car? I found pictures of the Maximas' DCC unit and it looks like the same aside from a few missing buttions.

okay im trying to do this swap, i took out the analog climate control and i had a hard time with this white/clear cable... that was connected to the climate control (hot to cold)... i got it out, Now... what does that cable go to on the digital climate control? im confused about that... is the rest of the wiring seems easy to do with the first page of this thread... is that all it takes to make it work?

look at this one too zerothread?id=160285

the "white/clear cable" is replaced by wires which connect to a motor (that you install) that operates the mix door

Anybody know where we can get a Havac motor for the hot/cold control?

I believe it is mentioned earlier in this thread. P.S. My Install is now 100% complete! I used connectors and wires from my front clip's dash harness to make everything look factory... you would never know it didn't come with it!

I know not everyone on here who has done the conversion has a havac motor(air/mix motor) for controlling the hot/cold settings. Right now I don't have a radio so I'm just tuggin' and pushin' on that metal rod that I have proped up in the din in order to cycle between hot and cold. I'd like to know what you other guys without a havac motor have "maguyverized" to remedy this situation. If I can't find a havac motor before I get a radio then I'm gonna run that rod somewhere accessible and fashion some kind of pull handle for it.

ericherm1 wrote:The air mix door is pre-wired through the subharness so you don't have to rewire any part of that. The only thing that you have to do is customize the metel rod. If its not working check your connections and the rod position. Mine used to get caught on the blower extension, ended up burning it out so I had to replace it.
I'm having problems positioning the air mix motor so that I can cycle through the positions without it locking up. I've bolted it in a number of different ways but I still haven't gotten the right positioning. I'm thinking that shortening the metal rod could fix my problem. How did you customize your metal rod to keep the motor from locking up when cycling through the functions?

I'll see if I can get a pic tomorrow. I never cut the rod, it has an adjuster built in to the plastic clip on the motor side

I see the ridges on the end of the rod where I should be able to shorten the throw on it by screwing the end up the rod some more. That sounds perverted. Thanks for the info I didn't notice that before.

well, you pop open that white plastic thing, pull the rod out, turn the unit to full hot, manually close the door till it just hits full hot, then push the rod up into the plastic and clip it closed (pinching the rod between it, the rod will not screw in and out... the ridges are ridges to hold it in place and are not threads) ill go take a pic now.

this is great info glad it's up and running. Much appreciate for Eric and his share of knowledge of this. I was about to get started on this when my friend said maybe i should try this method:

http://www.nissansilvia.com/fo...=1912

i was just wondering if there's a difference in the 2 ways and if all the functions work for this way as well?

I have re-read the entire thread many times over, it's fun to go back and remember what stage of the conversion you were on at a specific time but alas, I am at a stand still. I swapped out the blower motor speed sensor and thermo control amp some time ago and I can turn the unit on and off but I still cannot cycle through the blower speeds. I get full blast when it's on or nothing when it's off. I pulled the harness and re-checked everything but I still can't find what I'm missing. Anyone? Oh and all thanks to Ericherm1 and to the moderators this thread needs to be STUCK!

Since most of the sensors can be sourced from the Maxima, does anyone know if the DCC unit and the other parts can be used in the s13? The DCC unit itself looks identical to the JDM one.

theres alot of stuff on this about the s13 but is there anything about the s14 digital climate control. Or is it the same wire up just as the s13?

I like to know as well. Can we just buy? :

- sun sensor- interior temp sensor- ambient temp sensor- DCC for S14

Got a havac motor and plugged it up. The first time I turned on the DCC the havac motor moved but it has not moved again since then. I move the temp all the way up and down but the havac motor has not motioned since the first time. Anybody solved this problem? Anybody got one of those clips that go on the end of the havac motor swing arm for sale?
