If you have the clamp that is securing it off then use PB Blaster or even WD-40 and let it soak in for 1 min then try again.

You know, I love my Q. I have spent many hours working on her and researching how best to do a mod or two or three.......I take pride in a job well done. It just rubs my fur the wrong way to see teens playing online guess and win. Oh the money I have thrown into her. It's just not right. Oh well, I guess now that folks can actually afford one this is what we get.

I learned by trying stuff and making things work with nothing when I was a kid. Reusing intake gaskets on chevy v-8's. Using permetex gasket sealer on carbs. My buddy used indian head gasket sealer on everything. We even found all the roller bearings except for 2 when we dropped the driveshaft in his duster. It was a pain finding all the u-joint roller bearings on brick streets. There is something to be learned from everybody

unknown007 seems to be trying and asking questions. I will give him credit for that.

Old Q45's seem in the price range for learning

WTF is the mater with you are you pissed off for not getting any??

Why not let the guy who made the thread ask the questions he want without any insults from bungholes like you.

You seem to have something to say about everthing or everyone who is young at least.

When did you learn to tinker on a Q45?

Have you even read the WHOLE FSM, Owners manual, all the TSB's, the SAE paper on the Q45 including the VH45DE and all the cars componets and worked on the interior and engine?

When you have enough knowledge as Q45tech then you can do what ever you want until then don't say anything if you can't say anything useful And from what I have seen so far in your 26 posts none have helped anyone.

WOW!!!WOW!!!WOW!!!HATERS!!!Well yeah sticky it so this thread can make your guys all look stupid and be embarrassed that a teenager got the job done while all you (Trumpkin,qship96,maxnix) couldn't.It's coo though i'm not playing with a car buddy cars are my passion.all i do is sleep cars, eat cars, live cars, even my gf complains because i talk to her about cars and my cousins does to because we do.I take pride in learning and learning from mistakes. When will you learn if you haven't tried? Think before you post up something you never probably done and if you have good job if you screwed up then that's your fault. We all got different ways of getting things done.Thinking this like a game makes it less stressful because it keeps me calm and makes me take my time. But anyways nice of your guys posting B.S.

Thanks mx662 and Paul Wall if i was messing around then i'd be saying i did this and that with out asking.Guess some people are just born to fail in the auto industry and go off building boxes to blow up car windows.Lucky for me i can do both. Just don't got material to build on but i know how to measure it all out.HANDS ON!!!so don't test me. Okay anyways back on topic i will try to take pictures tomorrow hopefully i get that hose off.

Removing any part is the easy part! Restoring things to oem working condition is another matter.

For years from 1997 thru 2004 we used to get a lot of Q's with the trunks full of engine parts..............where the mechanic just gave up in the middle of the job.

Perhaps, but that doesn't change the fact that they are very sophisticated engines compared to OHV V8 and lawnmower engines, where one should be learning.

The price makes them available to the great unwashed masses, unfortunately.

I gotta tell you... I learned on the Q. It was my first car that had a major issue (failed injectors) that wasn't covered under a warranty - my 100K warranty had just expired. I was fresh out of college in 1998 with a nice car, some time, and just enough cash on hand to pay for parts. Before that all I had done was normal maintenence like belts and oil changes... and a lot of cleaning and detailing.

The nice thing about learning on a Q, is that it makes "normal" cars all look easy! I laugh every time I work on my truck

Given enough time, patience, funds, and some natural mechanical inclination - and the FSM and NICO - one can teach themselves how to do this plenum job. Would I say grab the FSM and start rebuilding the transmission... no - but the plenum, rocker covers, suspension, fuel pump, alternator, even injectors... absolutely.

And yes, these cars are in the price range that anyone can buy them... and do what they want with them. If you want to see some real Q abuse - go to YouTube and type in Q45. There are some jackasses that use two Q junkers for "muddin" - now that'll make you cry

Let's ease up on the guys who come here and ask for help trying to keep them on pavement instead of plowing up mud tails in a corn field somewhere.

Lawnmower engines are where you should be learning.Like i said we are all different and learn different.I suggest stop posting useless posts that tell people what they cant or can do or what they'll end up doing. You messed up on yours your fault if you haven't congrats.I've noticed not one topic of yours are about repairing your own car.Hmmmmm......

Heath it is true everything I been learning on the Q makes my cousin's 07 camry easy. Plus since the end is kind of hard to work with we learn double. IMO

People keep comparing grapes to pomegranates..................it's the number of seeds [cylinders] that counts along withe FWD vs RWD.

Of course a I4 or even a V6 is easier than a V8.

I love the Mercedes forum when people learn they have 16 spark plugs along with 16 plug wires and 8 dual coils on a V8.

Is that a gaping hole in the hose between the left and right bank? If so, it would be a wonder if it hasn't run hot at some point... wow.

My next step would be to go to Wal Mart and buy a case or two of brake parts cleaner to clean up the plenum, runners (stuff them with paper towels before cleaning to keep from filling them with cleaner), throttle body, etc. I think I went through 20-25 cans...

Then it's time to call Joe for every hose under there. Might want to check your knock sensors for cracking, and replace it's harness. I would bet a cold one that it's showing corrosion, especially after sitting in coolant for that long.

Well i'll see how much the pricing is and call joe.If it fits my budget which i have very tight then i'll get them. Will check everything and update pics saturday morning.I was gonna take them to school to put the plenum and runners in the parts washer. Then maybe bead blast it?

It'll make it look like never and then air hose dry it.
