Don't forget to get new "half moons" that fit into the heads.

Must be pristine as when new. Use the chemical bath.

I remember that being a problem now that you mention it. Seems like I had to use an odd John Deere wrench I found in my dad's tool box...

And don't discount cleanliness with these parts... remaining carbon deposits and grime attract the new stuff faster vs. clean metal.

That's the whole point!

The longer you can wait to pull it to clean it again, the better!

Pristine now = more miles of trouble free driving.

Just loosening the nut at the exhaust will allow it to swing sufficiently.

What you have 2 keys. I only have one.

Get rid of the Fram oil filter and what ever else Fram you got.

Plenum looks great on the inside the out side could use a new Infiniti logo. I don't like the one piece look.

Did you sand blast the inside of the runners or at least above the injectors holes (Where the Fuel cleaner can't get at)?

Nice job though.

No did no sandblast any of the inside parts or Plenum or runners.Reason it i didn't tape the ends where the o-rings go it would un-level it. We want leveled.

One key is for my trunk the other for the car. So i need to make copied.

Fram filter was the one my dad always buys his money his budget my car my oil change i'm fine with it.

Other than that if i scratch or brush the Plenum emblem it turns shiny. Dunno if that's bad.

As i was cleaning my fuel rails they started turning chrome or silver.Lol is that bad because i just decided to make the whole thing that color.

I need more carburetor cleaner and a small pipe cleaner to do the injector hole.Need more money send me some Paul.

Well thanks I took my time on the Plenum got scared when i found out some of the sandbalst particles got inside.I cleaned it out as much as possible if everything got out like i hope since i didn't see anymore inside, then i'm good if not. That will get into the engine and since it's tiny pieces of glass it'll eat my piston up and kill my motor.

I hope for the best wish me luck guys. Most likely ordering hoses tonight and it's almost $300 Oh well Plus the Knocks.

Well my cousin said i can sell his car and get half what he gets. trying to get my uncles 240sx and sell is as is since it hasn't tasted gas or been driven for 2-3 years.

Anyways back on topic.

The plenum could be cleaner, but not bad... probably as good as 95% of them ever get cleaned. Did you get all of the crud out of the EGR port?

Outside looks awesome! Inside is what I was talking about. For the EGR port - I used a dental pick, drill bit, toothbrush and a lot of brake parts cleaner. Basically anything that will fit in there and break up the crud. A long screwdriver would probably work.

I know a lot of people don't like the plain one piece Plenum look.I filed the Inifnit emblem (not the oval the symbol) and the two lines. They shiny now just gotta file them even and polish them and im set.Was thinking of painting the oval white?

what still dirty inside the plenum? The yellow/gold is discoloration.

Will look into that maybe tomorrow.Good thing i still got brake cleaner.

Do i have to change the runners gasket that is on the block?

Good job! You may want to upgrade to phase 2 injectors while you have it apart.

Only reason we recommend OEM is because there the only parts designed for the cars we drive with the exception of SOME OEM equivalent or better parts such as Tokico shocks, sylvania long life bulbs among others.

I once saw a black Q45 with a tow bar and Autozone parts on it, wonder why it was in the junk yard, But it could have been the chain guides too.

Phase 2 injectors AKA 1994-1996 injectors see this topic: zer...npics

I only trust Autozone, NAPA, Pepboys and other for cleaning products and easily replaceable and cheap parts.

Don't have the money for that yet.Wish i can do the swap soon.Maybe if i sell my cousin's car and get that half I'll do it until now we're lagging on getting parts bought.

Gaskets from my store are set to oem specs or basically any store. If it wasn't a good idea to buy a gasket from a local store and always get oem don't you think everybody would do it?Even on Hondas and Mercedes?

Well i'll stick to my local auto store gaskets they've not have failed and work and look just like Nissan's.Better yet I did somewhat notice the OEM were metal. If the auto store doesn't have them like the OEM then i'll go to Nissan if they do look and are the same what do i have to lose?Nothing in my eyes.

Anyways all i did today was clean the block. Can't clean completely but looks better.Fuel rails I don't get how to clean still it keeps turning silver so I gave up unless there's a way it'll turn gold again or can it stay silver?

Also took some gas that was sitting inside one of the cylinders.Got in there with a flash light.

In which cylinder was there gas in?

What fuel injectors did you say were bad?

Compare and see if the bad fuel injector leaked gas into that cylinder?

Sometime NOT always do you get lucky with Autozone or other store parts.

Are you saying you had a cylinder full of gas?

You need to make sure they're completely cleared out before you attempt to start the car, or you run the risk of hydrolocking the engine! You might try turning the car over with the starter with everything disconnected and opened up, so that the pistons will compress the fuel out of the spark plug holes, etc. Of course, if you do that with the rocker cover off you'll sling oil all over the place, so reinstall that first.

In regards to the gaskets, check the prices... it's very possible that the price is about the same either way. In either case, I would go with OEM parts wherever possible. Aftermarket support for a relatively rare imported engine isn't as good as for a more common car.

Want to put the car together already but we have a fat irritating selfish delay. Im not getting any help or support on buying the parts.I've gotten bored and feel like just parting out the car.My parents are terrible this is the 3rd day they say okay buy the parts and when i ask them to they end up saying hold on and go to bed.Selfish enough that they want me to graduate but i have no ride to night school.I live 30mins away from the city my school and night school is at.Instead of helping me they are fixing their computer. Well dunno when I'll finish it thanks to the dumb economy I cant even get a job since nobody is hiring and wish it was easy to make money just doing photo shop or art at least.

Honestly I'm stressed and everything because as I'm trying not to fail any classes or I won't graduate my parents don't give a rat's a** about my transportation. They complain when i call for a ride or tell them i need someone to pick me up.Well all this right now is anger dunno what I will do now just wish I HAD A JOB OR SOME SPARE MONEY.

Also please don't be all immature and start saying I told you to get a civic or this or that. It's not me who's lagging it's my parents and the economy is bad.If it wasn't for the economy I'd be hired.

OK this may sound absolutely wrong but here goes:

Why not put the car together with what ever you you have that is good and not broken ie: all the hoses that aren't ripped open, the knock sensors and what ever else you got. Then replace everything that needs replacing which shouldn't be more than a couple of hoses and put it back together so you can go to school and find a job.

Or part it out wait a couple of months yes MONTHS because not even I am selling a ton of things these days despite what other may say about parting out cars.

Or sell your brothers 240SX and use that money to put your car back together.

Actually I have a box of hoses sitting down stairs (Not the complete under plenum hose kit, take pics of the bad ones on your car and send them to me and I will see if I have them, you can have them provided you pay the shipping ($6). But you will owe me.

It's my hard headed uncles 240SX.He has like so many cars and doesn't let a single one go he's weird. My knock Sensor cracked.I'm trying to sell my cousin's BMW 325e posted it in BMW forums and stuff.I get half of whatever it's sold for.So I'm waiting on that.I don't wanna part out my car just the frustration but we'll see where this goes.Trust me I have hoses that i saved you think I was gonna cut away pshhh........... yeah right. I'm replacing the necessary and hose that broke or that i cut not all of them. I MISS MY CAR!!!

To get a job it's pretty hard haven't checked restaurants or fast foods yet though. But all retail or whatever stores aren't hiring.JCPenny isn't hiring or firing because they are losing money. In order to keep it running they aren't doing any budget raise.

Paul email me what hoses you have thanks.
