i love how trends change like the tide here on the webz.
dude is not going to get fishy in the road, theres plenty of tread there, short sidewall stretch...not thin tread tall sidewall stretch. they are very different characteristics on being roadworthy. the wheels almost 10 inches wide, a stretch of any sort on that isnt going to handle like a clown car no matter what anyone says. anyway, outtowin, i know your stance man...and with your car you need the meat back there...me personaly, i wont go bigger than a 245-45 on any thing. more is unecessary and were back to form/function, only on the other end of the spectrum. i compare it to kids running 29 or 30 inch street slicks with a stock 5.0 ...its just silly.

It can definitely go a lot lower but my exhaust pipe is waaaaaaaaaaaaaay to close to the ground. The ride is a lot more comfortable than stock wheels+suspension, mind you the suspension is from 1993 and its seen better days. All in all not as bad as youve all made it out to be and i drove on some pretty nasty pock-marked roads for 2 days.

wait so your not slammed and you have a pretty big stretched on the wheels?

i don't understand....you could easily fit a much wider set of tires on there without hitting the fenders.

stretch is for cars that are low enough to need the clearance, it just looks stupid if not.

nice car though.

wont be slammed until i get the exhaust pipe that runs around my rear axle out of the way, then we can go lower.

Oh, it's no secret. The 17x9.75+25 527's weigh 21.4 lbs. About as much as 17x9 FN01RC's, but almost an inch wider & $100 cheaper... :naughty:

Confirmed by a vendor on the other forum...

Just fyi because I recently bought a whole set of four and weighed them individually on a digital scale; the 17x9 +20 FN01RC's weight exactly 19 LBS.. I just wanted to clarify that lol.. 2.4 lbs is quite a difference and not really "about as much" as the 527's. :)

^^^Cool. Thanks for the clarification. I guess all the online resources I've seen were either guess estimations or they have inaccurate scales.

But it was Sonic Motoring on the other forum who provided that 21.4lbs figure for the 17x9.75's. NLMotoring is saying they're 20.1lbs.

Sounds like someone needs to put these on a digital scale too. Either way, they're a pound or two more than FN01RC's but about $100 less....

Word, and it's not even my bday or anything she just wanted to help me out with my build
She put a ton of time into researching which wheels to get, she learned all about offset and tire sizes etc. then had to search to find these wheels. I'm a very VERY lucky guy.

There's a little bit of stretch on the rears, the front tires fit pretty even. It's exactly what I wanted a more "meaty" fitment a good balance of form & function. Hopefully they fit nicely with my sportlines. I'll try to get some pics up tomorrow night.

PJ I would've probably preferred a 40 series tire but my cousin helped her pick out the sizes and he advised 45 for a bit smoother ride. He's definitely the function over form type. Depending on if I get coilovers and decide to go pretty low and how fast I go through these tires my next set will prolly be 225/40 & 255/40

5mm Spacers up front but they would easily clear Z brakes without them

Can't put her on the ground yet because I'm waiting on new bolts for the front tension rods, should have the whole car finished and a proper set of pics next week.
