yeah the KA is a beast, and it decently easy to build, all mechanical

no replacement for displacement

I'll keep that in mind if I get a 2nd 240.

So tomorrow me and a few people are going to load it off the truck and I'll take pics of the engine. I will also take pics of the engine bay. Stay tuned

Wow nice job.

The only thing that bugs me is the all red top and sides. should have left the sides black and painted the top black. just looks wierd to me.

Other than that it looks great

Yea that had bugged me too when I got the back the car, but it grew on me.

So I have an update but not the one I had mentioned yesterday. Yesterday, at work, I wasn't feeling so well. I felt like I was getting a fever. Today I didn't go to school. My temperature was 101.5. My mom took me to the doctor and I got tested for the flu. Turns out I have Flu type A. The doctor told me basically its the flu affiliated with swine. They can't confirm it because they have to send the test they did to me to the lab, and by the time they get the results back, I'll probably be better. So now I can't go to school or work until I have no fever for 24 hours. Basically I have to be quarantined. Yay. This is really going to affect my paycheck.

I've been sleeping all day.... Time to go back to sleep. lol

So i got some pics of the engine.

The turbo has tiny bit of shift play. Nothing to worry about at all. Next friday, I get paid so I hope to order the following:-Exedy stage 1 clutch kit-Nismo engine mounts-240sxmotoring boost gauge package

Right now I have some money and plan to buy paint, turbo gaskets, heater hose conversion, and maybe a nismo thermostat. I was thinking of getting a MR manifold but I'm still deciding.

Stay tuned.

PS: Time for a new avy anyone? lol

Looking good. Your definitely doing it right. Subscribed*

In terms of SR vs KA debate. Why can't we all just get along? The SR and KA are both great motors, sadly people in this thread are spreading misinformation.

If you want 300+whp out of both motors, if you build the engines bottom end it will cost about the same. If you don't build the engines bottom end, it still will cost about the same.I am spending roughly 3600$ to do my KA-T RIGHT minus building the bottom end.Tell me you can get a SR motorset, new clutch, turbo, fmic, downpipe, new manifold, tune, wastegate, BOV, exhaust for under that price.

I feel a lot better now. I'm going to school tomorrow and back to work Friday. Since I have nothing else to do I'm gonna go take off the transmission and see if there are any surprises and then swap speed sensors. Pics later.

beautiful car. i had a red chuki before the wreck. love the sr going in. i've done both. swapped sr into a friends sr and he loves it. and did a cheap ka-t build on another friends, but like i said cheap and the car never ran right and its back to na. but he is a rice boy so i doubt it ever runs correctly again. guess thats what i get for selling him my old motor after my wreck. my next 240 i have will go the ka-t route though. wish i could work as much as you to save, but with school in the evenings and me buying stuff for my z i cant keep anything saved up.

Thanks man. Much appreciated. I saw pics of the wreck and damn, but good luck on your ka-t adventure. I don't even work much. I'm still in high school so I only work an average of 20 hours a week. I need to take advantage before I go to college. lol

Take advantage as long as possible, Im 20 & a junior in college and I am still milking every minute I can lol Enjoy every minute of being young and not having bills to pay because once you hit that point...your gonna regret not doing it while you can.

lol Trust me I'm not the person to save. I was into clothes and shoes at one point but now I don't care. Once the car is running, its back to saving...for suspension!!! lol

Should of done suspension first, gotten a feel for the car and learned how to push it. GL though the guys at elite are awesome and i doubt you will have a problem with that motor ever

^No sir. Unfortunately, I have not.

My plan is to start dropping the engine the 15th of November.

I still need a few more parts:-Turbo elbow-Heater hose conversion-P/S lines-Nismo mounts (still debating whether to get them or not)

I also need to get the wiring done.

The thing that I really need to get done is to cut the old radiator support and weld in the replacement, then paint the bay.

Hopefully I will have enough to get atleast more than half of those parts on my next check.

Look for an SR build by the username "Positron". I listed the heater hose conversion you can pick up for $25 in that thread.

For the wiring, contact Durdan Perfab. He's the best in the [email protected]

part# from car quest to get the heater hoses:

1962819619

Same kit Enjuku sells for $45, but for half the cost.

Tell Durdan I referred you. His harnesses rock.

I've got a 52mm GReddy EGT gauge with harness. I don't have temp probe that goes into the exhaust. I only want $25 for the gauge.

Will I get a discount if I refer you? lol I've seen the enjuku racing conversion kit. Does it make it easier than the regular 3 peice set?

I'll get back to you on the gauge.
