I was bidding on this, and I lost last minute. However, the seller had a deadbeat, and I offered $500 on the car.

I have yet to see if he accepts, but I dont have $500, so I would like some people to help out. I will be parting this out.

I have dibs on the seats, assuming its good enough. If its bad, I will probably not get the car..... EVerything else inside will be fair game. The engine (most likely) and the rest of the drivetrain will be parted out.

Any other parts are good. Basically everything from the front doors back is good...... Engine/transmission I assume are OK, I have yet to figure this stuff out.

We should be able to salvage some primo parts on this car..... This car looks like it had a great body before it was wrecked.

Depending on the extent of the damage, I may decide to attempt at fixing it up, in which case your money would be refunded.....

Wes - you know I'm in for some, the only "for sure" things I need/want are the ash tray & shifter surround. I may be looking for a handful of switches and that passenger side foglight.

Update: It is a federal, heated seats, no TCS.

This would be a great ECU for someone who wants JWT.

The car is a driveable distance, in Kansas City area, and we have a flatbed that we can use to trailer it.

Basically Im broke as of now but if I could 250 from Rex and about that from natsoundup i can do the rest. I got my whopping $60 paycheck yesterday. w00t!

If you dont get your money's worth in parts, I will share the profits with you.

Nat, if you want the transmission that will be available, maybe for your 90 :) If you want to be the banker, email me offline.

Basically assuming everything goes according to plan Im gonna get a week or so in the summer and just rip EVERYTHING off the car and store it in boxes and give it to people as they need it.

Find out what color carpet. I am looking for dark brown. I also might be interested in the ECU for the right price. The way I figure for even 570 you would be golden. I am sure you have done the math but these are low ball numbers.

200 for both power transistors400 for the engine200 for the transmission500 for the misc stuff100 MAF------1400 total easy

Assuming we get to the point where we have "extra" parts, sure.

I'm replacing it, b/c the hinge is messed up and it doesn't open or stay closed correctly.

It will fit... This transmission will fit any 90-96 Q, with the correct TCU..

Im waiting on more information like that. If nothing else, Ill sell it for $200 to make as a core for a level 10 rebuild.

Wes....I am very interested, but I need more pics. Can you have the guy take many more detailed pics...including the interior. It looks like the interior has already be torn apart somewhat in one of the pics as I can see something hanging down. I am sure others that would like pics as well and then you would get more interest.

My main interest is the inside HVAC display...about half the lights are out on my unit.

HVAC control bulbs are easy....take the unit back out ( you don't even need to unplug it, but it is easier), flip it over and on the bottom near the front face you will see 5 plastic circles with a slot for a screwdriver. A half turn and they should just pull out.

If you don't want to pay the $5 per bulb from Joe, just head over to your local Radio Shack and pick up some "micro lamp" part #7219, they come 2 to a pack for $1.49. Carefuly pull off the little blue covering from your old bulbs and place on the new ones. Then take look and see how the old bulbs are wired into the base.....just thread the new bulbs wires into the base and trim off the excess. If you want color you can paint the new bulbs....one of those paint markers works pretty good.

BTW all of the bulbs in all of the window switches are the same bulb...however they are a little more involved to change out. I R&R'd all the switches in my Q in an afternoon (about 3hrs), so it's not real hard.

Now I need to do the Bose radio buttons....does not look easy.

Good luck,

Andy

thanks for the info on how to change out the bulbs...I will have to put this down as my next weekend project.

Wes...I am still interested in the car...please post more pics and I think that you will get others interested as well. Also I know that you are asking a lot of questions, but can you ask the seller two quesitons.

How many miles are on the car ?

How long has it been sitting? It looks very dusty and this could affect the condition of some of the parts?

I am interested, but I need to know the condition of the parts first.

I have found several Q's here locally in a junkyard and can get some parts off of them if I need them, but if I can get the parts cheaper this way...then count me in. I need to see the interior pics for color, availability, and condition. I don't think that there is really anything that I need mechanically on the car as I just got done replacing about everything I needed to replace at the dealer these past few weeks. It is more cosmetics for me.

Depending on what I need and what is available, you can count me in for $50 to $100 bucks.

And all the body panels from the front doors back are good.....

Wes, I'd be interested in the engine to use as a core, no need for the ECU. Is there any way you'd be able to pull it/have it pulled for cheap? I should be able to arrange shipping just fine. Thanks in advance Wes!

As well Wes, I am willing to pay for the complete car though still part it out to everyone here from NICO. They'd get first dibs on everything before me (besides the engine :P ) of course. Give me a shout and we can talk!

While we are scavenging cars....lets get this car off the road and terminate it.....This car just does not do the Q any justice. It is just plain ugly...the ugliest thing I have ever seen. I hate to think what the owner looks like...probably even worse as they say cars are an extension of your personality.

yeah...that has got to be about the top 3 ugliest...if not the ugliest car that I have ever seen. Probably the ugliest given that the body of car appears to be in good condition. We might be able to pick up this car cheaper...and it has wheels. Who the hell would want such an ugly car. I have a friend who lives in Knoxville, TN....I will tell him to go take it for a spin.

WTF??? are Cronix wheels and what el cheapo tire is Vogues???

I just love the $500 paint job....and to think that they took the time to take out the windows. Who the hell takes out the windows to paint a car....door handles, yes...but windows. I feel like pouring a good stiff drink and giving this guy a call to see if he is really serious
