Excellent. Im at school right now, and everyone who is intersted PLEASE send me an email so I can keep it catalogued.

Basically now I am concerned about shipping, as money isnt a problem..... Itd be an 8 hour drive for me, and thats too far to do in one day, plus Id most likely have my dad come help me tow it.

I think we need to be on the lookout for more situations like this one.... the biggest problem is tearing down the car and storing the parts..

I am kicking myself....I saw a 92a on a flatbed the other day....totaled in the front...

I should have turned around and followed the truck.

Got an email back from the guy, $1000 is his final decision...

too high for a wrecked Q.. I could find a junker cheaper than that...

Lets not keep this idea out of our minds. I am going to go on a mission to find one around me, sometime.....

Agreed... No email response for him, $1000 is stupid.....

Keep your eyes out for a parts car. If its in the midwest, 4 hours away from indy, we might be able to work out something.

I realize that, He said that he would cancel the auctions...

Rob, could you look out for some nice looking 94-96 seats, tan, heated for me.. if you find a good set, let me know!

actually I just might know of a nice set. I had found a 94 Q45 that was junked after 56K and I am almost postive the passenger seat is "golden" (sorry could not resist). The drivers seat looks in good condition also, but for some reason you can see the stiching in the seams really bad, but the leather itself looks great. I will take pics and talk with the salvage yard tomorrow.

If anybody needs a perfect pearl colored hood...this car has it. I will take pics and post just in case anybody else is interested. Within about a 2 mile radius...there are about 20 salvage yards in Miami which makes it real easy to go salvage yard shopping and I saw about 20 different 90-96 Q's...some were okay...some needed to head to the metal grinder as there was nothing left. This is where I picked up my differential core and my 93 TCU.

If anybody finds a good "taupe" (chocolate) colored steering wheel..pleaes let me know. My current one is all torn up.

Rob, mind if I ask how much if that 56k engine is left? I just sent that guy on eBay a shout regarding his engine, but it'd be nice to have another choice when it comes to it.

BTW, I'd probably go $750 for the complete car Wes. I dunno if the guy would take that though and we'll have to see what he says about my motor request.

the whole engine & transmission are gone. only thing left driveline wise was the rearend and I bought it. I can't figure out why somebody would take everything including the driveshaft...but leave the rearend...but I am happy that they did.

In all the Q's I saw in the salvage yards, about 20 or so, I did not see one "a" or "t" model. I would have thought that I would have at least seen one "a" or "t" and there was only one with traction control which is the rearend that I bought.

I will keep an eye out for an engine. Does it matter what year?? 90-93 vs. 94-95???

Rob. I went and bought a wood grain steering wheel cover from walmart, and I love it. It gives the steering wheel more width so its better to grab on to...

Thanks Rob. I'd prefer a 94-95 just so I know there aren't chain guide issues, etc. with it.

Once again Rob, greatly appreciated :D .

Not to mention a 90-93 wont fit. Only the shortblock and that would be a TON TON of work to get that swapped in.....

Since there are so many people who want parts from the Q's I'm going to talk with my friend who parts out vehicles and see if he can pick up a wrecked Q or two. What I would need to know is what year would be the best to look for? A year that has common parts and so forth. Like a first gen and a 96 for example. Would that work? One car for the first gen people and a 96 for second gen cars.

I don't think he could get one right away, but if I can convince him it would be worth the effort he may come up with one or two from the auctions. You tell me. What say you?

All I want is a set of 94-96 tan seats in prime condition, with heaters.....

All driveline stuff will be the same 90-96, major stuff anyway......

Wes....I went to the yards again today...but the one with the good seats was closed. Wes....before I go back there to take pics, do you have the monies including shipping to buy these seats? I don't know for certain, but I am sure that after shipping you are looking at least $300. How about you call them first and get an idea of the price before I drive over there again to take pics. The salvage yards is "Minton's" 305-688-6661 and ask for Chuck. The car they have there is a 94 Pearl colored Q with tan interior. I think the passenger seat is perfect and driver's seat was good, but it was dusty as the car was hit in the drivers so it has been exposed to the elements more. After you talk with them and still interested, I will take pics. By the way...Chuck was the only reasonable salvage yard as all the others were trying to rip me off every single way possible. I got the rearend for $225 and the 93 TCU for $50...so I think that what ever price he quotes you should be very reasonable price as everybody else wanted at least $300 for a rearend and at least $125 for TCU's and that is after a lot of heavy bargaining. I did not try to bargin Chuck as he gave me a very good fair price straight up without any negotiations. Hope you have a similar experience with them.

Corey...I found one engine in a 94 car base model. The car was rolled....looked like at least 2 complete rolls at the car was very round. This salvage yard guy was very "proud" of his junk and so he charging way too much. Wanted $1,000 and I said yeah right. The engine looked good, distributor/ignition was gone but all else was there but I could not tell how many miles at the speedo was gone. The car has been there a couple of months at least as there was rust on the car and pulleys had typical rust around them as well. The phone number is 305-688-1611.

Other than that...there is not much out there in these yards. The cars have already been picked over pretty good except for the car at Mintons with only 56K on it. There were a few clocks and the like, but nothing special and no more 93 cars where I could buy the 93 TCU. I could not even find a drivers side door that was in good shape for me to buy as I have a big dent in my door from some nice person while parked at the grocery store. There were only about 5 94-95 cars and the other 15 or so were 90-93 cars.

While we're talking about parting out cars, I'm in need on an antenea for my 94. The idiot that owned the car before me installed an aftermarket motor/mast which doesn't work. Or, any idea why it doesn't work?

Danny....call Minton's at the number I posted above. I think that the same car...pearl 94 Q has its complete antenna assembly. The car only had 56K on hit so the remaining useful life of the antenna assembly is probably really good. They can probably ship it right to you. I know the dealer charged me over $200 bucks to replace my antenna alone after the valet guys bent it for me...the valet company paid for it, but still a pain in the a$$. The motor runs something like $350 from the dealer...not including Joes discount.

Rob, thanks for taking a look for me. I've sent the guy parting out the Q on eBay an e-mail. I didn't offer him much for the engine so we'll have to see what he comes back with. $1k for that engine, he's dreaming. You can buy them rebuilt and/or with low km's for under $2k.

Unfortunately, Vogues are very expensive, ultra quiet tires. I remember seeing them on new Cadillacs years ago. Dunno about their recent position in tire related pecking order

Nothing this group would be interested in though. ;)

Wow!!! I learn something new every day....and just by looking at that car I would have no idea that Vogues are actually a good tire....I can't believe it. Those tires cost more than the car is worth.

Here in AZ, caddy capital of the world, everyone has vogues..

These dealers will stop at nothing, dreaming up "packages" to include new wheels and vogue tires..

The summer package

the AZ package

the diamondback package

the im rich and old and like paying for packages, package..
