My daughter wrecked her 1996 Q45 Thursday night. Will the 1994body parts work on a 1996?

I'm not sure yet how bad the car is. It looks awful. I know she will need front and rear bumper, driverside rear panel. I just hope the frame is o.k. She will have to fix it herself. She only had liability.

sorry to say...but things don't sound good given front/rear bumpers and the general market value of the car. Q parts don't come cheap.....no matter where you look for them.

If she/you do decide to turn it in for salvage then of course as Wes said...we are vultures and definetly let us know.

Laila, if you're ever looking at selling/parting the car out get in touch... though I'd like to see your Q stay on the road a while longer. Hopefully you can raise the funds.

Possibility on having another Q45 parts car here:

1994 Infiniti Q45Black with tan leather interior Hit Rear, Automatic Fully Loaded, 103K Miles asking $1950 USD

Located at:

Fort Wright, Kentucky 41017

Is there anyone on the boards here that's driving distance from the car?

Early bird catches the worm....or dibbs on best parts first :D

Drivers Side Seat/Possibly Passengers Side AlsoStereo Trim BezelSteering Wheel If Leather In Good ShapeDrivers Side Door = Sheet Metal Needed (not the interior trim)Front Bumber Cover (Definite)...maybe front bumber assembly as well depending all on total price of this projectRear Passenger Door Trim Outline...difficult to describe but the "felt/cloth molding" trim outlining the door (on the body, not the door itself) of the car.Hood (maybe???)....depends on total price and paint condition.

Thats all for now....man, my car must sound like $hit after listing all those parts that I need....but this car is exactly my exterior/interior colors and as you are all aware...I got some serious use on my body panels

If we can get somebody to look at it and take more pics of the items I mentioned above....then count me in for a good couple $100...maybe up to $500+. All depends on shipping costs, unless somebody is able to keep it at their house until first weekend of June and I will drive up to GA and get the parts myself and take advanatge of T3's bring in your own parts offer....Damn, this just might work out really good for me if the car is close to Atlanta and parts are in good condition with T3's special labor rate. I bet that they never thought somebody would bring in body parts on this offer....Hmmm I wonder if they would even do body parts labor such as switching doors, etc.? Then again...money is money to just about anybody.

Maybe we could get the price lower by telling the guy this is just a base model...no options at all.....NO Heated Seats, NO TCS. I don't know what other other options there could possibly be available for this year.

Ahh $hit...no heated seats. I have heated seats in my car, but I don't use them that much. Well I would still be interested in them for the right price unless I can retro fit my heat thing into the new seat or take the covers off of these and put them onto my seats?

I feel like JAWS....I am eating this car alive. I could not find one similar to my car at all in the junkyards.

Unfortunately the car is located in Kentucky! That may be a bit of a problem... we'll have to see who lives in that neck of the woods. Unless the price is right, no way in heck I'm paying to ship a parts car! :pface

yeah...I understand about shipping....shipping can make or break a deal. Hopefully somebody is close to Kentucky...If all the parts I mentioned above are good, I will drive within 1 day of T3 to get the parts and bring them back to T3 for installation.

Hell maybe we/I do it the old fashion way and have somebody drive my car from Kentucky back to T3 and follow behind me in my car while I drive the parts car to T3...eliminate any officer attention. It looks driveable???

If you're willing Rob, it certainly would be appreciated. I'll see how low I can get the guy and we can make a decision off of that.

BTW, is anyone here willing to pull the engine/transmission for me for $$$ and/or parts?

The original guy on eBay is now asking $550 removal included for the engine & ECU. That seams high for an engine with 100k+ miles, no guarantee, etc. Especially beside that engine on eBay that's supposedly JDM w/ 30-40k miles going for $900.

Anywho, any opinions on if it's worth it or not?

I'm close, if we can get the guy to a much lower price, I'd be willing to play along.

Ft Wright is actually Northern KY, nearly Cincy, OH.

Isn't the T3 deal contingent on new (or apporved used) parts?

Wes...you little seat theif you. I got dibbs first :D you can have my old ones. Besides...I thought you needed tan seats...those are what is called "taupe" or what I call chocolate brown (looks like exact same color of a hersey's chocolate bar).

Corey...I really need some more good detailed pics before can say how much $$$ for certain and also need to know if there will be shipping involved. I can come pick the parts personally in June...May is totally shot as I am gone every weekend on business in South America starting Wednesday.

Initially...I am down for a good couple 100 bucks and possibly more depending on how this whole thing works out. Please ask the seller for detailed pics of the items listed above. If I can get a new hood, bumper, drivers door, then all I need repainted is the back corner of the car where the valet did the damage and this would save me some big bucks on getting the whole car repainted....$5,000 vs say $1,500 (parts and rest of the car paint refinished).

I need a new hood becuase I had left the car at the Philly airport for a week in the summer under a lamp post...well when I got back there was a weeks worth of bird **** caked on the black hood and it ate all the way through the paint. So I had the hood repainted, but now it get rock chips much easier so the original factory hood would be great.

I have got to run...but I will post a list of what I am willing to pay per part that I listed above later today.

I'm in need of a few things...the antenea motor and stuff as well as the climate control unit. I also need a small piece to fix my steering wheel. It's a little access cover on the back that conceals some screws...

By the way, if you're out there Dennis...I'm trying to knock off the "low hanging fruit" from my fixer upper list. I know the mechanical service is important. But until I get the insurance settlement I'm broke.

MiniMan talked with the guy and he wants $1,950 firm. I spoke with a salvage yard today and they said the car should go for around $1,500, but that a little higher was fair if everything else is in good condition.

Between MiniMan and myself...we are probably a couple hundred dollars away from making this happen.....so we need a few others that we can count on for the monies to make this deal happen...or we can try to wait out the guy and see if he lowers the price. If anybody is interested in some parts please let us know your interests in parts and monies as well

If I can get
  • fog lights (not sure if anyone "called" them)
  • shifter surrond
  • switches in above surrond
  • ash tray
  • CD changer (if there's one)
  • a few other odds/ends (remote, outside door handle, etc)
I'm good for up to $200.

Edit: Detail to odds/ends

Just wondering RSI, but why are you interested in the tan seats if yours are brown??? Are yours in bad shape?

thanks rex...that helps a bunch. The fog lights are yours as long as I get all the rest of the bumper stuff....somebody decided to make my front bumper a battering ram while parrel parked one day and pushed it in a little.

I should list my items I am staking claim to...I already sent an email to MiniMan when NICO was down yesterday.

Drivers/Passenger Sests (possibly, but not certain)Stereo Trim Bezel (I would like this item, but I can live without it if somebody else wants it)Steering Wheel (Definite)Drivers Side Front Door = Sheet Metal Needed (not the interior trim, but will take the trim if nobody else wants it)Drivers Side Rear Door = Sheet Metal Needed (not the interior trim, but will take the trim if nobody else wants it)Front Bumper Cover & Assembly (Definite)Rear Passenger Door Trim Outline...difficult to describe but the "felt/cloth molding" trim outlining the door (on the body, not the door itself) of the car.Hood (definite)

I am chipping in around $750 for everything...and a little more if need be at I really need the body parts off this car to save me from a major paint job.

The trouble for me is that I will not be able to pick up the parts until June at the earliest as I will be driving from Miami. I start traveling tomorrow on business to South America and will be gone almost the entire month except for 3 days until the first week of June. I will need to change out a few parts when I get there like the hood and maybe a door or two...to make room for the other parts. Can anybody store the car at their house until I can get up there to get my parts? I would be willing to compensate the possibly some monies for their troubles until I can get up there. Shipping is just not an option as I don't want to risk the paint being scratched or a dent put into a body part. Also the cost of shipping would be way more than I would want to pay for this project.

Thanks...Rob

Wes....look at the pics of the car. The seats are "taupe"(brown).

Although the seller listed them as "tan" they are not "tan" color....see the pic. They are "taupe" (brown) which is the same color of my car which is "taupe"(brown).

Now I am confused....from the pics of your car your seats are "tan"...not "taupe". Why would you want to switch colors?

Wes...I will post pics later today, but this is what they call "taupe" as I had the dealer run the VIN number to verify.
