The distance is really not a problem. Like anything, once you take some time to practice and get comfortable with it, you no longer think about the controls.rcabrita wrote: Hmm, this is weird. You don't have to use 1-0 if you don't want to in most games. I didn't play much outside of Counter-Strike and I used the mousewheel for my weapon switching.
Problem with that is with increased look speeds on a controller, tends to be much harder to control. Beyond a certain point, so can mouse look speeds, but since mouse look is based on distance of motion rather than distance of thumbstick and time, the movement is much easier to get accustomed to. Zeroing in on a target is much faster with a mouse too.rcabrita wrote:True I have noticed that the x-axis is usually much faster on the PC, but you can play COD4 with the sensitivity turned up to PC speeds.
Isn't that something you could do with a usb thumbdrive though? Card readers seem rather unnecessary is all I was saying.rcabrita wrote:I use my flash drive ofter. Not sure if you are implying that lots of 360 owners are complaining about it or not. And while I do see that there is a need for wireless connections for many products, the fact is not everyone needs it. That's really my point. So given the price of the 360 wireless add-on, I've saved $100 bucks on each of my 3 360's. And frankly,if I decided to use a wireless adapter, I'd buy one that is essentially a wireless bridge. In fact I own one and my GF's brother is using it for his rig.rcabrita wrote:Yea Xbox is doing great, but how many people on Xbox complain about the cost of the MS USB Wireless add on.
I actually started out with a wireless connection on my first xbox (the one I mentioned above). Turns out wireless connections aren't as reliable as lan cables. As long as its logistically easy enough to run a lan cable, then its much easier doing that than having to troubleshoot issues with wireless connections. The only wireless devices in my house are all in devices that are more mobile (laptops, pda, phone). I am considering adding a network printer to the house using a wireless connection, but that's simply because I am out of LAN ports in the router now and should be a relatively low bandwidth device anyways.rcabrita wrote:As petty as it sounds, once you've tried it, its hard to go back. Once you set it up correctly, its extremely simple to use. I tend to recommend it for those that are less technologically inclined as it makes operation of a complicated enetrtainment system very easy.
Not sure that solves the problem as almost all the PC games I own still require a disc. And frankly, I don't need much more capable. I just need it to be capable of specific things in an easy to use package (GUI has to be simple enough to use in a car). If you saw how I had the XBOX running in the G35, you'ld see what I mean.rcabrita wrote: I would look in to a micro PC that get installed into your car and it would be much more capable then an Xbox and no hacking involved.
