Dude that vid you sent me, I had to think if it was yours or not, because all the dash lights looked blue. I think if VLED's ever gets their crap together, we should go blue. Sounded great...wish mine could have been with you in the tunnel.

Man the vid didn't come out how I wanted . The wind got in the mic too much and you couldn't hear anything else.. Not even the bov O well. I'll get other vids.It was fun, my butt hurts but dayum i got 34 mpg on my 500 mile trip this weekend! I multiply my mileage by 95% when I calculate due to the smaller tire and stretch.

I didn't want my family to think I was talkin to myself when I recorded the path of electrical fan switch wiring lol so I sound like a nerd.

I ordered a new thermo fan switch today Typed in 240sx radiator switch and came up with this:

10 bucks + 5 shipping from Rockauto.com; wholesale sale. The rest are about 35 dollars.

Gonna be fixed and proper again soon

And yes joel I might go blue with the gages. Well I'd still love to stay white (because of boost gage) and paint the gage trim blue like the car, and install the digital speedo cluster while swapping my dohc tach into it.

We will see, but it's time I used a good speedometer. Mine's too crap to fix so I'll just use the digital one I've had lying around for years!

Nah urs isn't the same paint code as my car. I'm talking the same color blue as my drift knob. it'll be hot with white led hud

I fixed up my moped for spring today. Aligned the drive belt and started it right up after winter storage :Dhttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UlKzJGi1uUc

In the meantime I made a website so i can blog or whatever with updates or w/e I want without being under the mercy of the server change.

I will give u the boring part of the update here haha..
I fixed my privacy cover. Tried gluing it with numerous compounds, none worked, so I bolted the hinges on!

im diggin the 513's. it probably says somewhere in the thread what offset they are but you mind just telling me. i dont feel like reading through a bunch of pages looking for info that might not be there. keep up the build. i thought i was the only one that thought of putting exploder flares on a 240.

Are you still running a Mr. Gasket copper exhaust manifold gasket?

That too will eventually fail. A great replacement is the exhaust manifold from a 01 or so Sentra, with the SR20. It's 3 layers, and like $12. Super duper.

Good to know man, it looked great though, so I left it in but I'll be wary lol..

Cait took a few pics of the car today. Slapped on a roof lip spoiler.
I was concerned the new lca's raised my front but IDK what happened. O well we'll see if I feel like correcting toe again and lowering more.
Image

Spoiler doesn't fit perfect, kind of a mock up install just for the show.

My flushed (just about) ford sides

The bay lookin clean.

She chopped this pic with the contrast to get more blue out of it hehe, looks great!

TST sonic meets are insane for an east coast event. It's a must if you're near next year.

Ah. I didn't get to see all the cars, there were sooo many! I'm a redneck now for a few days.

Thnx for the 'bay compliments guys, I wash the engine bay before shows now heh, it's become part of the routine.

This is the pic I took with my phone the day of install, it was a dirty car.
Image

Ok I found a pic someone else took that really shows off the skirts. They still slope off flushness in the rear, but they're not flared out anymore so you don't notice as much, especially from 5ft up from the ground.
Image
^err sorry it may be too dark to see em still. It was overcast most of the day during the meet.

I didn't see this car in person but seeing it in the photos thread made me wish I had:

I'm thinkin about painting or powdercoating the wheel lips blue like his rear wheel there, lmk what your thoughts are.
I'm also considering painting the black part of the wheels blue and leaving the lip shiny machined looking.

Got some samples in the mail because after doing the steering wheel/hub/drift knob it's looking clean, and the door panels stick out like a sore thumb!
Discountdesignerfabrics.com fella's. 7 free samples haha!
Image

I'll probably go with this one, it's nearly identical to my paint color! Black tweed and the lighter blue is a close 2nd. Didn't like the microsuedes as much as I anticipated.

That's all y'all. Finals this week. Nico is my reward on saturday!

I think you might be doing too much with the color of the paint involved in every other part of the car.

Ive seen it done and it looks like s*** 98% of the time, but then again it can be done so good luck :)

Hmm ok well... The black tweed looks best, and it's the easiest to flex around the armrest area.
Once I find a local supplier cheaper I'll buy, or if not I'll get the tweed later, for me, the door panels are not really a quick project.

Other aluminum goodies coming soon. Say, some within a week, a few weeks and a month or so lol. :D

Carlisle was awesome, could have been less windy though. I'll post up a pic a friend took of me vs cones if he emails it to me finished.

Midnight blue pearl. The chart posted here says it all man: oem-s13-paint-colours-t361817.html
As you can see it explains why I have blue interior, it lists interior options :)

My last 240 was a 1990 also, it was charcoal metallic. Duplicolor made a charcoal metallic that matched it perfectly. They have some new colors out right now at Advance Auto, I have to see if they match up better than their old phantom blue pearl which I used on my lip and side skirts.

now bare with me on this i know little to nothing about wheel sizes/offset. i heard that if you run anything less than +15 on a lowered 240 that you'll rub the inner wheel well. have you had any issues with your wheels rubbing anything?? im thinking about getting those wheels is why im asking. anyway this is the last question. sorry for bugging you

It's totally fine dude no problem, I just didn't notice your other question went unanswered. Yes they are 16x8. with a 0 offset this would make the outer wheel distance from hub an even 4 inches.
Yes I rub still with about -2* camber in the rear and a slight roll/pull (baseball bat handle method). Running PBM coils though, it takes a rough road to make my tire rub lol, but you can see the scarring on the tire. It's no big deal, not enough for anyone other than me to really notice.

I'm hoping to order some 17x8.5+10mm for the rear. To figure out the distance from hub for these the math is trickier, but google can help you out. take the 8.5 wheel width and divide that by 2 = 4.25" of wheel sticking out past the hub at 0 offset.
Now just go to google and type in 10mm to inches in the search bar and their calculator tells you: 0.393700787 in.
If this were negative offset we'd add it to the earlier computed number of 4.25" half wheel width, but it's positive offset so it takes away from the lip.
So just do subtraction: 4.25"-.3937in offset = 3.8563 inches away from the hub.

So now you can compare the current wheel I'm trying to spec out to my old 8inch wide ones. the new ones would be 4-3.8563" more tucked in, which is .1437in, or 3.65mm more tucked.

This doesn't take into account the increased diameter of the wheel though, but it can give you a better idea of how to size up wheels and tire sizes.
For more info I like rimtuck.com. you can see tire stretches and all sorts of offset profiles. If you go through this simple calculation process you can find a setup that (even with different offset and wheel width) would equate to your same wheel spacing from the hub to the fender.

I also desire less camber, so I'd probably run a 205 45 17 so I can clock it back more. We will see. Either way, I need new rear tires this summer so why not try some new wheels haha.
