Heh, yea Josh sorry I got carried away on my lunch break at work :P Fitment calculations are fun! Oh the possibilities.

This page is lacking update photos, I don't have a good pic of the nrg stuff on the wheel but this should give you guys a taste of the interior now. It's nice, and the nrg 2.0 QR and short hub are the perfect length from the column :)
It's probably 1.5in closer to me than oem which is nice.

Well this pic has been my fb pic for awhile. Sorry for keepin you out of the loop Nico!

I had been watching the ebay market all winter for some form of polished/raw aluminum SR20 pulleys (because I don't want blue or red) and recently a seller decided to sell them for $32 shipped to your door including the mini hardware bag.

Needless to say I purchased because for 32, what the heck haha...
Image
Annnd they work and fit the belts perfectly :)
I didn't install the alternator one yet because I don't have a large enough socket up here at my apartment. It's beyond 22mm, so it's probably 24.

This is 1 of the aluminum goodies I was foreshadowing in an earlier post.

This rainy week has been lame to drive in, but fun to do baby street drifts in.
Til next time!

Edit: For those that inquire, they are NOT underdrive. They're the same diameter on every pulley :bigthumb:

Also, I do not plan on ever getting an aluminum crank pulley. There's a lot of reasons why. If you search, I posted in an old thread about them possibly wearing the crank bearings prematurely, because they send bad vibes through your crank Lol..

Alright so I figured out the easiest way ever to remove the alternator pulley! There's a catch though.

Go to harbor freight in the automotive section, get the emergency impact gun. 150 ft lbs max torque and it either plugs into your cig lighter plug or crimps on to the battery.
It's cheap too. It was actually 4 dollars less than internet list price :P
http://www.harborfreight.com/12-volt-1- ... 92349.html

So I measured the amount of space i had before coming to the store armed with my tape measure. The gun is certainly small enough that, even with a koyo, you can use it on the alternator without uninstalling.
Image

It works great! It'll be nice to have this now for axle/ball joints whatever I can't take apart off rusty old cars that I purchase in the future, and not have to use a wall outlet is sweet for track days but I don't need 150ft lb yet.

Finished.

Heyoo. I don't mess around when I get a new part haha!
Installed Keegan's (but now my) shaftmasters alum driveshaft today.
A fine salesman, thanks Greeneyes :dblthumb:
First I cleaned it up, carbon from an exhaust leak was all over it.

BTW, you might notice the super green grass. Lancaster has the best farming yield per sqr foot of unirrigated farmland. Thus explaining the grass lol..?
Image

I heard about this trick from a rankaster 240 guy who doesn't post on nico much to avoid teh drama. S14 driveshaft shield cut to fit aftermarket shaft.
Image

Installed, just a press-fit into any 240sx transmission. smack it on gently with a plastic hammer.
Image

Picture of clearance with the DS installed. about 1/16" radial clearance. I did run the car in gear to listen for rubbing also, and it runs without rubbing :)
Image

Pictuarrr of the finished DS install. It's about 11 lbs lighter than oem. 22lbs versus 11 lbs. Losing the rubber flex section and carrier bearing win.
Image

I also picked up that passenger seat he used to rock because it matches my chuki fuzzy grey/red drivers' seat, so the s13 original blue tweed seats are for sale.
Image

I did steam-vac both seats and it was definitely a good idea even though no dirt was really visible. :mike Haven't ripped on the car yet to feel a difference, but I'm expecting some excitement!

Giggidy.

This pic was sitting in the camera from when I installed the steering wheel soo here ya go.
Image

Frsport is the only place to get the s14 pickup +gasket according to my research and phone calls:
Image

That can only mean one thing: s***'s nice. welds are all good, plated steel pan ftw.
Image

Installed with partially scraped old gasket. Surprisingly the 10mm screw to mount it was easy with the help of a screwdriver depressing it into the threaded hole.
Image

Eh I use red RTV because it never let me down last time and it was hella hard to remove. Smells kinda like Heinz ketchup!
Image

Pan came with 4 studs for the areas for fastening between the extended oil reservoir.
Image

I put some threadlocker and RTV in the oil gage bung after this pic. Sorry I'm a bad camera man under the car heh.
Image

This pic came out nice. It sits just above the subframe with OEM engine mounts :)
Image

close up of stuff
Image

This pic was me trying to show distance between skidplate and the pan. It's about 1/2" clearance. Nice.
Image

That bout sums up the day, new rotella oil and purofilter. Sr is bulletproof now! Well ok it's closer ;)
I installed these (Avid speed dial 7's) on my mtn bike after just because I'm gearing up for the season, getting into it late this year. Dialing in brake feel is super easy! Brake pads next week when they come in. Maybe a new fork later.

Not sure if I read it right, but are you thinking about bracing your lower control arms?

I'd actually suggest against that. The arm (most of the OEM infact) are designed to bend during an accident. If you brace the LCA, you'll make it stronger obviously, but in an accident the force may be applied to something else. That something else will most probably be more expensive to replace than the LCA. I kind of regret doing the reinforcement to my set.

I kinda realized that when I was strengthening them.

The only option is to never wreck, which is a good option for me :)

Driftpa might have a july funday ppl, heads up

Alriiiight. It's time for an update. I'll have to recap the whole summer.
Here's a better pic of the tails.
Image

This pic is just funny because my gf looks so happy to present to you my new tails! haha.. Dirty car this time, I couldn't wash it because of drying sealant.
Image

My babes and I went to Formula D Wall NJ, this guy who didn't drift well this season was there and signed my MAX shirt :P
Image

Then we went to see the NJ shore at sunset before heading back to Lanc. Some kid was peepin' my car as I returned to it, I know he's just lookin' but I get protective of the '40. Image

My old audiobahn amp blew because the RCA wires both grounded out, it was my bad for not taping them, so I replaced it with a more weight savings related amplifier LOL.
Image

I went to help Chris Bersheim with some stuff and check out what he had for sale. We ended up slightly rolling his fenders and giving him more front negative camber to fit his new wheels. All the while this summer, I had been looking for new 17" wheels but didn't find the ones I wanted or just grew tired of looking and waiting.
Image
Image
FACEOFF lul.
Image

One hot day in july I awoke to another dent. This pic makes it look pretty bad, but it did cover a large area. I managed to pop it out from behind the QP pretty well, most of it popped out but there's a ripple near the wheel well lip.
Image

About 3 weeks ago I got started on these:
Image

Both sides have bushings and ball joints fully installed now, so they will be going on in a few weeks.

Car had been driven a lot since the beginning build. The starter circuit needed a new ignition relay and possibly still a new solenoid. I carry the solenoid and tools to replace with me in case now lol.

Which brings us to present date-ish.
New plastic wrench is my tow hook toy. Just somethin fitting because I work on it so much and it was one of my child toolset toys.
Image

I toyed with the idea of getting a daily and searched for 2 weeks semi seriously for a hardbody pickup. An extremely local guy had one for sale so 2 weeks ago I called him on my way back to lanc from harrisburg to take a look at the truck on my way home.
My girlfrand also attended the test drive. She loved it, and I had to really fight a smile when I pulled into the guys driveway after taking it out :)
I freaked when we stopped at a local elementary school to check out rust, because there was none on the frame or cab!

The bed's rusty though LOL.. Don't care!
It's a 1988 Nissan d21 hardbody pickup. Z24i engine and 5spd trans. had 110100 miles when I bought it. Some pics of when I scoped it out sitting in his front driveway:
Image
Image
Image

I guess you could say I only drive blue on blue nissans now lol!

Link to the daily: didderson-s-1988-daily-pickup-240sx-sup ... 06479.html

Already rollin' on some fun updates for it and upgrades. But as it's a daily, the most I'll be spending on it is for some more snow friendly wheels and tires.

I also have a vid of me backing out of my apartment driveway. It's a stupidly rough incline to this driveway, but at least the 240 gets to use the driveway now to keep neighbors from hitting my car!

Guy who's laughing is Forrest, he drives the red Mk2 supra in these pics: Proper suspension work done over the summer underneath it!

Joe, under 150 bucks. Check sonicmotor mang.

Today I did moar stuff. Installed some things I forgot to tell you guys I purchased!
These were my before shots: Ebay rucas up there..
Image
I do love how the underside looks, but it's dusty! I need to go to an underbody car wash.
Image

Here's the gen3 PBM ruca's I installed :D Didn't tell nicofase about it, I forgot haha. Bought em new from Joel when he parted out for a nice deal. Still thank ya man.
Image

Got the revived LCA back in. Man it's so orange under there now! Moog ball joint was a breeze to install. Greased em both, ready to go!
Image

I took a video of a tip on removing rear ball joints with a sketchy cam, but nonetheless, it will save you guys some time if you do these someday! Keep hammar until it pops loose.

The next step is a rear altima rotor conversion with hawk pads. I've had mehh ceramic pads and it's time for a change!

I thought it was kinda dead!
MGE is modding the m5.
Josh has a 280zx turbo he decided to work on instead of heart transplant that engine into his 240sx (prob get a simple SR20de swap non turbo for daily use)
Jeffs car (WC) still doesnt run, havin a baybay soon and he has a huge gmc truck now, lol got a cam for the v8.

I will try to give you more info on how I modded the side skirts, but I think I posted it up earlier.

This is the year and style the skirts came from. 95-01 and it has to be a 4door without side step bars, just normal urethane skirt. They pull out like panel poppers and being fords, they're usually rusty and easy to pop off LOL.
U don't need the front section of them (they split open 6" from the front)
