Thanks for the pics Joel. Before we fixed up my car we did an oil change on my bro's cavalier and then installed a sony xplod headunit in my gf's car :D I went ocd keegan style and heat shrinked/ double grounded/ soldered it nicely in for her . Sounds so much freaking better than the dying jensen did! Why don't i have pics of her cab on here... She likes oem vdub stuff. Only slightly into the dump/wheels thing, but someday I'll build her an mk1 rabbit and slam it .The speakers used to sound like they were on their way out, but it was just the dying head unit .

I'm running about a 30% coolant to water ratio which should have me covered to 0-5 degrees F. Install went flawlessly, and even allowed me to spray the light oil seeping out of the block again Under the PS pump/CAS area. It wasn't bad but now it's clean as a whistle again. Fan fit absolutely perfect in the koyo. I'm very impressed by the tightness of tolerances in their manufacturing.

Working great and I'll let y'all know how it fairs tomorrow :D Hoping I don't hear the rad fan turn on when I park now heh.

I'm very ready to put it to the TEST! Driftpa events I am ready for action! And yes, 1.1bar is 300zx based psi, 16psi.

Yea mang, least I could do for you since you aided me so much in getting my car prepped for low, and helping getting the car started. Glad I could help return the favor with some help for once.

PIGNOSE CONVENTION! hahaWooow some quality pics in mah thread! Weeee! Thanks dougman, it was hella fun even tho the get together didn't last long lol. I forgot to setup some driving shots but w/e plenty of time.Bersh mang next time yo. hit us up on aim. We saw 2 other 240s while chillin at keegans work... dunno why they didn't stop in heh.

Car wasn't clean but it wasn't a requirement . I guess you could say this is how it looks on average especially during the winter, but the bay surprises even me everytime... I need to pop it more often to remind myself.

Some may think my shock towers have rust near the little rubber grommet. They used to but before paint I ground it down like mad and used some metal filler so it wasn't perfectly smooth. I assure you it's not cancerous anymore or a whole lot less than before.

Heyyy nico! I have been brewin' some winter car fixes because of my preemptive nubness in days of old. I cut the cooling line nipples off of my iacv for weight savings (yeah I know big dumb one HAHA)... So when winter hit I finally (through research which i should have done prior) figured out coolant is useful in helping the car idle in the iacv because of some wax that heats up or something. SO I bought a working one for 34 dollas shipped on ebay just because it had a broken idle screw. I guess ppl were nub and didnt know u could just dremel a line into the screw, remove and replace? The pic above is of the screw I dremeled out and then placed into my OLD iacv that had the cooling nips cut off... Yeah. At least I can use the aac and idler valves in the new housing like transfer them when i need, so now i have spares.

Took off the manifold. Really pretty easy stuff, just time consuming and my back still hurts. If you have a lowered car and are around 6ft, i find its easier to do this work kneeling down... seriously LOL. Not undoing fuel lines will save you time/brain cells.

New idler going in. My gasket for that iacv is only 2 yrs old so it looked great, but i fingered a small layer of red rtv sealer on top of it before reinstalling new iacv because if I have time, I will be as much of a perfectionist as possible.Because I run my heater core lines like a pro I used the iacv mini cooling line nipple off the manifold area for turbo coolant, and T'd it off with 5/16 brass fitting. I should have taken a pic because it was nice I swear and it would have helped u guys ugh Oh well next time I take half my engine off I will.

Rockstarrr can cut up and put on my intake. Because I'm a fanboi (they're my fav energy drank) and I just put a stick of theirs on too... w/e. Looks b****in, now where's my sponsorship!

Car idles like a winner now. I should have fixed this sooner, but I lived with it and even today it was idling at 1500 on the way to pick up cooling lines/the T fitting. I was like... just you wait car... I'll fix your runaway idle soon! Can't wait to drive againnnnnn and save gas at idle too.

few days ago I had 3 holes in 2 tires... so 2 flat tires. Maybe I'll do a new thread on how to plug tires? Idk.

Pcv was leakin a smidge thru the threads so it got tightened and that's fixed. Also throttle adjusted a bit tighter. Just one of those quality of driving mods. Makes my brain realllyy happy when I know everything is working as it should.

Thank god the idle is good now, I can ride with you and not hear you whine about it, I'm sure Cait is gunna be happier now too...LOL...Just messing with ya, yes, your idle was high, I can't wait to hear it. Can't believe your car is that demanding that you need kneepads....

U are a funny one Joel I almost typed that so it sounded even weirder like I was gettin on my knees for my car... yeah haha..

Ok I didn't take pics of like how to use the tools so w/e I won't do that new thread thing. New update already haha.. Old update tho. Negative camber pwns me just a bit but these tires are old in the rear... and they're rear tires c'mon!

I will spare you with the pics I took of the screws inside the tire(s) None of them were my fault, they looked like random road screws and one is a horse shoe nail GRRRRR lol it's freakin' old school blacksmith looking.

That day I mounted my z wheel just to see how she looked w/ the 5mm spacer in too. Not even lowered on the ground it looks sweet, but i have too high a sidewall rating so the overall diameter is too big, but the tires were free heh.Maybe I will run those sometime. If I paint the centers black it'll match the xxr's

Ok so step 1 of power to weight ratio knowledge is complete. My vr6 corrado buddy showed me a nice scale that was built recently for an organic waste/compost dump. I guess you could say it's damn accurate, needs to be for measuring the amount ppl dump.We weighed it 2 times with the same result. The snow on the scale didn't seem to make a difference because it tared to zero when my car wasn't on it.

With 1/2 tank of gas and my 10" sub in the rear and nobody sitting in the car we got:Considering my car's an SE and I have necessities to make daily driving enjoyable I'm happy with the weight !I'll probably go back this summer with less gasoline in it and no sub just to see lol.Sittin' on da scalee: My front end is now winterized... no lip. I couldn't keep it on anymore because classes start monday and I don't want to be plowing during school lol. Those are not F&F speed decals... that's salt from driving today ><.If anyone's around and wants to weigh their car this place is really easy to access because it's public domain so lmk.

Negative, they are 0 offset 8" wide yo, so 4 inches out from the hub.

On the datsun wheels I use the 5mm spacers because they won't clear the J30s without, and also because they are still sunk a bit with a +12 offset on a 6" wide by 15" wheel.Looked it up. Great OEM wheel spec website:http://kmhafer.datsun510.com/wheelchart.htm

I should start a blog... Sorry for the lack of build parts this page. For the exception of the radiator I fail but I like updates haha...

My car hadn't been washed fully since maybe thanksgiving break? I gave her a nice pro machine wash with undercarriage treatment .I think the bike adds to the hype that is.. the partially stripped hatch!

Homish (3 wheeled bigtime gettin in my landlords driveway to pick up some workout clothes lol) Salt on the tires because we got dusty flurries last night. No more snow til mondayish though!

My fav pic of the day. New sticks reppin' my fav company thanks to Joel We spent a LOT of time prepping and figuring the best looking way to place them.

Lawl. This nub moved his dads Hemi Magnum out the garage for my baby 240... scraped the crap out of my exhaust upon entry.

I need to cut down on the stickers, but I'm repping for driftPA as soon as starkos mails it to me. All silver vinyl on the hatch = classy.

I should double post Dougs pics because of his photobucket bandwidth but I'll wait til sunday, probably more pics because of the mini-meet up here.Til then y'all!

Long time no update. I've been itching to get out in the snow and play! Get some slow speed practice for another driftpa event. Currently planning to attend one in late feb but because of all the snow we'll have to see if it even works out .

Anyway so a week ago I put these wheels on WITH NO SPACER because only the front brakes need a spacer to clear these. I'll enjoy not rubbing tire for now but the balloon tires are so close to fit anyway. ahahah..

The other day I was jammin' to Depeche mode's you spin me right round and thought about spinning my TURBO right round baby right round. So I got a 5th gear full spool pic a bit late for ya lol

So about the sliding tonight. I went down the street to the community pool parking lot for some undisturbed fun. There was probably 3-4" of snow... A little much for no weight in the rear.

Oh and these ^ \/ are iphone pics, the real cam i used in night mode gave me dumb blurry pics but i'll post em anyway.I likes this one:Hey and you can tell the difference between sylvania silverstars and regular OE bulbs (license plate) in this pic very well. See how much nicer silverstars are. Still not as nice as HID's but whatevvv.

These are the pics from the kodak dumb digicam that came out good.. But stupid flash was on haha...It was a bit too much snow for having nothing to weigh the rear down but a 10" sub box hah, buut like I said; seat time for driftpracticeeee

Front in night mode. Night mode kinda requires a tripod and I did not bring haha.

Yeah I didn't really wipe ALL the snow off the 'shuttle' before driving off tonight lol, and I'm not plowing snow either

I think this one's night mode w/ flash

Sry for pic spam This pic would have been cool because the pig signal lights had glowing snow in them, but the blurry fail haha.

I'm workin on led license plate lights. Not sure if I should update cluster lights because 5k white light will probably look blueish through the nissan gage faces.. what to do!

It's cool you can see the camber in how those rear tires have snow on the outside tread and the inner treads have none lol.Hope I gave y'all something to read if you're snowed in and bored. I know probably all of the NE is right about now lol. Why do I still say y'all?

I'm going out for the first round of plowing the driveway in a few. Gotta keep at it or it'll be hard as hell for the midget snow blower we have!

Oh yeah and I put my moped carb cleaning skills to work today fixin my girlfriend's snowblower (they bought from an auction but it never ran) before the storm lol. Just in time ftw. I assume most of nico has small engine skills as well? Like lawnmowers and sheit like that? I mean I hit the point of being able to recognize stuff in any engine big or small and work on it successfully a long time ago. I started with a 7 dollar crappy lawn mower I bought when i was 14 and fixed it up. It's always fun for me to tinker and hear it roar to life again .

LOL, finally got your DriftPA practice in, I'm glad you got it outta your system, although its never truly out of you. I like the swasticas, love how it fills out the wheel area so nice. Notice any change in MPH with the taller tire?? Like cruising, is the rpm higher or lower at 65? Can't wait to see these bright a** liscense plate bulbs.

rpms should stay the same with the swastikas besides the marginal difference with the weight of the wheels. speedo might change though depending on how different the total height of this setup is

Jeff you're right the overall weight of them is less than the XXR wheels, especially considering the weight is less focused on being around the outside of the wheel ( 8 inches away from the hub for a 16" wheel/tire) Fatter tires weigh less than the wheels.

I noticed my sprung weight definitely decreased in the rear because my coils are bouncier back there. Took some getting used to but we're good now.

The overall diameter of these rear wheels is probably an inch more than the XXR ones. so let's assume these are 1/2" taller than OEM suggestion and my XXR setup is 1/2" Under(smaller) than the OEM suggested overall diameter.

I checked my speed w/ the iphone gps (speedometer app, kinda looks like a digital cluster haha..) and my cluster speedo is only off by 1 mph.

So it doesn't change it enough to matter. I still hit 70mph at 3k. It's definitely nicer for cruising though, you can tell.

RPM's are a bit lower with the taller tires, but its probably negligible because I can't tell a difference. We can calculate it though.... hahahaahah

Well reason i mention it, when I used to drag race the magnum, with the shorter drag radials, I noticed faster times because of shorter gearing, taller tires lengthens gearing a little, if its over or under by about 1/2 inch, it is a noticable difference. I'm not sure what the size i had compared to stock, but i know it was at least an inch, I got massive increased performance outta running a shorter tire. Just saying.

im not disagreeing, but on the street you wont notice it. on the track where you're carefully monitoring your performance you'll notice it greatly
