Or a Vband clamp setup, or a flex tube with a gapless bandclamp. Thye work very well and allow you to run plumbing anywhere.
I'm only saying this for everyone else considering this project.
Have you had it running yet??
Damn, that's a good idea!
So, where my first weld is, I really should have welded on a flange, then used a mating flange on the rest of the pipe.
Please, don't think I'm gonna whine about getting some criticism. This is called R&D and it takes more than one mind to get things right.
When I first swapped in the STi injectors and retuned accordingly, I had this silly little phantom stumble/flood issue that would happen randomly when coming to a stop/idle. However, despite the "flooding" issue (would only restart if I pulled the injector clips for a few cranks), all AFR's were in check.
Well, after getting my chip burner straightened out, I adjusted the injector lag time from .76ms to .72ms. The car runs and drives like stock! Holy crap, it's so smooth now!
So, yeah, it runs and runs well. This turbo spools up quickly. I'll do some drag racin' tomorrow, get it on video and post it up. Keep in mind, it's a 1/8mi track. Please, don't expect any low 8sec passes, as I'm on street tires with an open diff. But, it'll give an idea of how the car goes.
