Blindside Imports is a local (Knoxville) import speed shop, not a turbo supply shop. They stock the parts that are most in demand, by more than just the Nissan crowd.

AMS specializes in the 240 now and they still stock only 2 turbos...unless they're out of stock.

Yes, next week after the ski trip, I'll get some street clips up.

Took it for a spin today. When the pavement is cold, I get a little wheel hop in 3rd gear around 4500rpm.../gasp!

KAT, can you post a pic of your injector setup? Wanna see how you spliced the clips together.

Thanks,

Kevin

Actually, there's no splicing to be done. You just pull the wires from the stock clips (very carefully, so as to not damage the pins on the wires) and slide them into the STi clips. They don't just "click" into place, and they take some heavy persuasion, but once they're in, they're NOT comin' out.

I'll post up some pics when I return from the trip. You might want to shoot me an email to remind me.

Ahh, I see. I misunderstood you on that. Where did you source your STi clips? Other then the dealer?

Thanks,

K

Did you make your downpipe out of 2.5" or 3" exhaust?

The biggest flange I can find is with a 2.5" hole...

2.5" is what I used.

KAT, can you please post a couple of close up pics of the STi injector clips? I need a shot of the female side of the clip & side shot. I found a place that might be able to get them, but needs pics to verify.

Thanks!

Kevin

Same here. I ran out of money due to today being valentines day AND my anniversary.... Stoopid wiff Hope I can get one of those turbo's to get everything running. I'm shooting for a T3/60-1, but for that price, why not get it and use it on another DD or another project..?

It is a T3/T04E 50 trim w/ .50 A/R compressor housing.

Sorry I haven't posted any vids, I've been very busy this week in dealing some other stuff. I'll try to get vids up next week.

Vids comin'. Track day is Saturday.

Honestly, my times are totally gonna suck. Despite installing the NISMO 1.5 way lsd (got that for $200!), I'm still driving on Kumho All Season radials LOL. So, it'll be like to slick marshmallows back there.

Vids to come!

Nah, it'll be fine.

Seriously, if it blows, I'll probably throw a stock motor back in, sell the car and get a better beginning platform. I'm just not puttin' thousands more into this project.

The lsd goes in tonight, springs/struts this spring (if it lives) and rock & roll, here we come.

I'm gonna play it like the domestics when their engines are limpin'....SEND EM THROUGH THE HOOD!!!

lol

By platform do you mean motor or car itself?

Probably car. But we'll see how it all plays out. Heck, I might fall in love all over with the car between now and tomorrow. LOL

I was gonna ask, how long of a oil feed line are you running, and are you using an oil restrictor?

Im getting my identical kit put together/welded up right now, hopefully drop my engine back in the car this weekend.

4ft long, -4AN supply, NO RESTRICTOR.

Drain line is a -10AN.

You'll love the new setup once you drive it.

No vids this time...smoked the clutch on the first pass.

It was supposed to hold 500ft/lbs torque...slipped 2nd some and 3rd every pass. Never got better than a low 9 1/8th.

So, centerforce, here I come.

Ceramic disc that I bought from Blindside Imports. Their instructions were to rev, slip a few times, drive car normally after that.

Well, it has less than 2000mi. on it and it slipped in 2nd and 3rd on the first pass, then slipped in 3rd on every consecutive pass. It's supposed to handle up to 500tq. Maybe I've done something wrong here, but I don't know what that could be.

I don't like the way the puck style clutch engagement feels on the street or strip (launching), so I think I'm gonna look at a Centerforce heavy duty street disc.

I will say this: +1 for 220k mile stock suspension on the drag strip! I didn't get the lsd installed in time, yet I was still able to leave the line @ 5200rpm on the open diff with just a "chirp" and then it hooked. No wheel shake or spinning. LOL That's on Kumho All Season tires!
