That queer link you posted in the other thread just went to the main web page. They don't list the T3/TO4 anywhere I could find. Ya big jerk...

I removed my statement about it, because I'm missing some information from the site. I was certain they had told me about a complete kit (fuel and all) for $1600. I'll talk to them tomorrow about it.

However, they do sell T3/T04E's for $375 with a 1yr warranty (TurboXS).

How heavy is your T3/T4 and do you think that bottom mount mani will support all that weight just fine?

Also.. why did you decide against putting the T3 flanger at a 15* angle?

You and I must have taken the same turn cuz I'm right behind you in the wrong neighborhood....

*Edit* Just read the part about the whole system for 1600 bux..

*Edit#2* *looks for boznuttz* Hey, I've found the way! Follow me!! It's not just the turbo, but what he was talking about as the whole kit gimmick. http://stores.teamblindside.com/Detail.bok?no=138

I'm pretty certain it'll support the weight, but I won't know for sure until I thrash it a few times.

I ended up finding that flat-mounting the T3 flange was going to be the ticket for me. The 15* angle was a preliminary speculation, but ended up being no-go. I didn't mind just grinding away a little bit of engine mount bracket material. The turbo can be close the block with no ill-effects. However, I didn't want it close to the A/C line or steering shaft.

Hey KATwo40, I see when you added the T3 flange, you mated it up flush at the front and let the backside of it hang off. *hopefully u know what I mean*How did that work out for DownPipe fabrication. I see your downpipe looks awesome, but a:is it cramped back there? and b: would you think if I mated it flush at the back of the T2 flange, moving the turbo forward a hair, would work out without any ill effects?... possibly work better?

Thanks! and keep up the good work!

With an elbow coming off that turbocharger, it looks like an SR hotpipe would correctly match up too?

Well I'm using that same manifold in the T2 setup(without the T3 welded on it)with my GT28RS and I have my compressor outlet 'cocked' towards the driver/front tire. And with a 90degree reducing/exducer silicone coupling, I'm using a stock SR hotpipe. I'm gonna be doing pretty much the same thing as KATwo40 in welding on a T3 Flange and going that route. Brilliant idea considering all the decent T3 header mani's are costing a pretty penny now-a-days. And I can imagine Downpipe fabrication 'could' consist of an SR Turbo-Elbow hacked up into something pretty decent that would mate to the SR downpipe....<---purely speculation in high hopes of re-using most of what I have already!

Actually, there's so much freakin' room, it's great! I'll snap some photos later of the clearance from underneath the car and you'll see what I mean.

If you move it forward any, you absolutely MUST rotate it so that the compressor inlet is pointing toward the stock airbox location. Otherwise, you'll be in contact with the P/S bracket. Also, I would have been required to grind even more off the engine mount bracket.

Actually, you can use the SR hotpipe from the compressor with a good elbow.

Unfortunately, this idea of using the SR exhaust elbow is no good. We tried it on an SR that was upgraded to a T3/T4 and it didn't work out. The pipe is extruded design and has a funky oval shape that doesn't really mate up in any way, shape or form to the T3 exhaust housing. It wouldn't even fit over the 5 bolt flange if we cut off the T25 flange. Everything was just all wrong.

However, you can go by your local muffler shop and ask for about 3ft of scrap 2.5" pipe and they'll likely either give it to you or sell it for maybe $10, probably less.

Don't forget to purchase a bung (drill the hole BEFORE installing the bung...learned the hard way on that one) too.

The SR downpipe will work, so long as you make the elbow mate up to it. You can get a 2.5" ID, 2-bolt universal (slotted bolt holes) flange at A-zone for a few bucks.

Since my stuff is custom from the cat location forward, I didn't bother making a sepearate elbow from downpipe.

You already have a following, as this is also becomming one of my favorite threads, lol. Im looking for used gt28 type turbos from garret or hks since the oem t25 and t28 will just really be hair dryers on anything more than stock boost setting. So far what you're doing seems optimal since the t3 turbos are air cooled rather than dealing with any issues requarding heat problems. The more deatiled you make this writeup, the more followers you will have. This is so interesting. Keep up the awesome work !!!!

Ugh, the gt28 series turbos look too complicated. They'll cost the same as that t3/t4, but the oil and water lines must be a pita. Sign me up for one of those turbos in a couple weeks, lol.

Yep, Johny is the man. We were talking about this on AIM...so he just went and did it. If all works as well as we hope, this will probably be the next big high use setup. I'm interested in flow/spool and back pressure.

^^^ Good point! LOL

I actually ordered the couplers through Blindside Imports and they're bummed about it, too. However, I refuse to be one of those ******* customers that yells at them because some 3rd party, whose actions are beyond our control, can't get their stuff straight.

Oh well. I guess next week will be the tuning week, not this weekend. /sigh

My car isn't very low, so I'm not concerned.

However, if it is a bit too low, it can easily be modified to hold higher in the undercarriage.

Nice, you've done a very good job on all of this, im impressed. get your couplers yet? I want a manifold for my CA that has a flange for an external wastegate on it.

According to UPS tracking, couplers should arrive Monday. If they don't, I'll have to duct tape it together (just like when it was stock!).

J/K.

Thanks for the compliment. It really isn't hard to adapt the external WG port to the manifold.

However, you should wait until I verify that there's no creep issue with this placement.

Are these turbo's worth investing in? That price is ridiculous low for a brand spankin' new T3/T04E. Anyone on this forum got feedback for this turbo?

I would love to invest in one if it was worth-while.

The turbo in all the photos of my manifold on this thread is that very turbo. As soon as I get to drive the darned thing, I'll let ya' know how it works. LOL

Nearly every Honda in town is running one and they're fantastic.

Like I've said before, this turbo comes with a 1yr warranty. My $750 Garrett, which I purchased from AGPTurbo.com came with only one guarantee -guaranteed to be a turbo when you open the box.
