No, I see the point he was trying to make... however those weren't pictures of an S13 as far as I could tell. Your contructive critisicm I appreciate, when people just make random remarks though it makes me concerned as to their mental capabilities! LOL
Yeah, I noticed there was some back and forth stuff going on occasion and a bit of a defensive tone against most remarks. I'd just like to mention that anything I say is meant for the benefit of the build. I'd like to see this thing hit the track, so it was a concern of mine that it wouldn't pass tech. The other thing, above all, is I'd like to see this thing built safely.

The pics veilside180sx posted are of an S13 coupe. It's actually an open-track car as far as I know.

Doesn't change the fact that Mark is one tall dude.

I've done that same setup for someone that is 6'3" and 6'5" and both have plenty of room to go, which you also stated that he had long legs which makes it easier because the further back you go the further down you can go with it.

Good luck with your project

Again, with no helmet or rollcage there is no issue, we are amature's and cannot afford to build a custom rollcage, so we ordered a FIA approved autopower 6 point cage, not exactly form fitting, but close. All these things cause for low headroom, I am 5'10" and I just barely squeeze in. Whats done is done, we are taking precautions to make stronger what we weakened, and there is no doubt in my mind that this car is structurally sound.

Yeah it's a 90 degree now and give a little more room left and right. As you can see though I can have my head up straight and there's a little room for a helmet. The car is now out of Dan's garage (something else already moved in) and on it's way to its winter storage.

Yeah, that cage is ridiculously low, and it'll be worse with padding added... I just hope you're not a very animated driver. Hitting your helmet on things while driving isn't fun at all

Not only that--But will it be legal? I am pretty sure most organizations require the helmet to be below the bars. At least the main hoop.

Guess I'll never be able to race 240s. As it stands now with the floor modified and everything there's only an inch between the roof and the top of my helmet.

Dug through SCCA and FIA rules today. About the only thing that I saw pertaining to helmets and roll cages was requiring FIA somefunkynumber.2001 certified padding where a helmet may come into contact with the cage so I guess I can still drive this thing on a track.

There's always a few fans in a room full of haters.

That was pretty funny though.
