For those who have already gotten..what's the process to install. I know I'm being lazy... Do I need to go out to the website and download the current engine code then upload that code into the tuner then upload that into the car?
RTFM

(i took docs words to heard and read it.)

then i had 2 weeks to re read it while i waited for my tune to be written.

Ok well I downloaded the Bully Dog Update Agent and installed it. When I launch it and connect the tuner to my laptop via usb cable, which btw, did not come with it, all I get is a white screen on the tuner and nothing pops up on the application itself. I'm assuming that the tuner is not being recognized?....

Anyway, reading more into it, it said that you can download the drivers and manually install it but when I do that nothing happens when I click on the .exe I'm tired and sleepy. I'm packing up shop and try tomorrow.

Umm yeah pack up shop and give BD a call tomorrow. Their tech support should be able to help you out.

Ok..finally installed the tune but I haven't tried it out yet cause it's raining and frankly, i don't want to be doing any "spirited" driving when it's wet out. That and I don't want to be cleaning my new SS Fast Intentions exhaust. Anyway while it was updating the ECU I noticed the file that was being transferred was JB10C. I used the premium tune and maxed out both the speed limiter (180mph) and rev limiter (7100) I know I will never go that far but it's nice to know I can go to that limit if need be

Besides, I can always remod the tune if necessary

DO NOT put the PMT file on the BD GT gas mem stick, that file is for another device if you put "PMTidf.bin" it will recognize it as "Performance Management Tool" that what PMT looks like http://www.bullydog.com/produc...l/143

The correct file is GTGIDF.bin which should be already there, there are no update yet for BD GT gas that's why you don't see anything on the updage agent.

Yes..that's exactly what happens to me. I downloaded the update agent (like it says in the manual) and launched the application. This is what I see before I connect the tuner..

Then when I connect the tuner to the laptop with the agent running I see this...

That's right nothing! According to BD Tech Support, what should happen is that the agent should recognize the device and auto-magically go out to Bullydog land and download the latest and greatest. However since there isn't any updates available nothing appears on the agent screen. So I asked the guy why is it in the manual. He said because a year from now when there is an update this is what the user will see and basically BD doesn't want to re-publish new manuals showing the change so they figured why not publish it now. Are you kidding me?..Here I am reading the manual expecting what they're showing and it'll never happen because there's no updates available

Anyway Mehdi, the tech support guy said don't waste my time trying to get it to work cause it wont. Now he tells me

Someone should really revise their tech pubs deptartment

So is this going to affect putting it on the car in anyway? Will it still work?

You should be ok. There's a member on here (from State College) that I emailed back and forth with but I can't find the emails now Anyway, he has the 3.5 SE with CVT and I think he said he didn't have to upload an updated file, that the file (JB10C) that the GT Tuner came with worked right out of the box. I'm trying to confirm that though. If it wasn't raining I'd would have the coupe out and testing out the tune!

Yeah, that was me

I had preordered the tuner and got it when it first started shipping, and even at that point the version that was on it worked just fine for me. I didn't have to update it and I didn't have any issues whatsoever with it straight from the factory, and it definitely made a difference.

By the way.. I've moved to Myrtle Beach!!

Great...it involves all of them but what is the glitch? That it actually doesn't limit the rev?

The glitch is even if you increase the rev limit it won't change anything it will stay same as stock.

My rev limiter has gone up.

It defaulted at 6350... i can tell that it revs longer

I think stock was 6100, but that little extra is noticeable.

Well I know when I get on it, the tach goes up to almost 6.5K before it shifts. Default on the 3.5 premium tune was 6350. I programmed it to go to 7100rpms. Honestly though I don't think I'd ever take it that high..

CVT FTMFL

My car cuts fuel out once a week cuz i hit the redline. (1st and 2nd mostly and once in 3rd on my way to boston)

whoops, thats why i didnt put the rev limiter higher, cuz i would always be hanging out up there.

That and the fact that you're running a 2.5 and I'm running a 3.5.

Hugh Lamont@BullyDog wrote:The fuel cutoff happens at 6350rpm. However, the throttle limit rpm (where the throttle begins to be limited, not cut completely) is at 6200 rpm. You can think of it as a soft and hard limit. At 6200 rpm it will begin to lose power and at 6350 you will lose all power.

The GT changes both these values the same amount, so if you go up 50 rpm on the fuel cutoff the throttle limiter will also go up 50.
BD GT didn't increase your rev limit it's by default 6350rpm, I'm sure the rev limit doesn't work on 2.5 Manual Altima, or at least on my friend MT 2.5 car.

Can you verify that it's working on urs 2.5 Altima ? try 6500 RPM for example.

Well you're right about the rev limiter...it doesn't work I just took it out and it's still shifting a little above 6K and not 7100K where I set it. Should I call them and tell them this or do you think they know about this problem?

In a side note, you can def. feel a difference, especially in acceleration Very nice!

do timing increase. i did +5 once (now I can only do +4, go figure)

if you get the chance , call them about the rev limiter and also about the driving coach wizard not being avaible.

I get mine today or tomorrow I believe, damn I'm itching to put this on. So noob question and I'm sure it's in the instructions but what does this thing plug into? Any special adapters needed?

And yeah, I'll prolly be calling them and harassing them about those missing features. :P

Yeah well don't count on the documentation that comes with it. It's ok but not great. Since this device works on a lot of other vehicles, the instructions are more general than specific.

This will come with the Tuner, 512mb Micro SD card, OBDII adapter, HDMI cable, power cord and of course the manuals. If you look at the OBDII adapter, you'll see that there is a switch. I didn't notice it at first but if you plug the adapter in and connect the HDMI cable to the tuner, the tuner will come on. That's where the power cable comes into play. If you don't use it, the tuner will be on constantly and the only way to turn it off is to actually remove the cable from it or switch it off by the little switch on the adapter. But if you connect the power cable and connect that to a ACC wire, then it will come on and off with the car.

Don't worry Medhi, I'll be calling them tomorrow. As for the timing, I advanced it +2. I'll keep it there for a bit and see how it works.
