interesting find. i noticed that all their results and dyno numbers are for rear wheel drive cars

Quote »*Regular: This engine tune is recommended for use with 85 or 87 octane gasoline. This tune can be used for everyday driving and towing. Dynamometer testing results have shown a 10-12hp increase in rear wheel horsepower.

*Premium: This engine tune is recommended for use with 91 or 93 octane gasoline. This tune can be used for everyday driving, towing and racing. Dynamometer testing results have shown up to 22 horsepower and 24 ft.-lbs torque increase, on the premium tune, to the rear wheels.

I was google'ing this product and found a discussion on another forum. One person said that he ordered it, he has a coupe, and i believe is on this forum as well. This discussion was a current one so hopefully this will be a great product. I will definitely purchase it if it is a legit and solid product.

I fail to see how 1 item can accurately help all those models listed... If that were the case, theres plenty of nissan titan stuff we could use in our cars lol...

I think its full of hot air

Well I got the update needed from Lance Hunter @ Bully Dog, downloaded it to the device, and all is good. I was able to remove the speedometer limiter and I'm currently using the premium setting on the Bully Dog. I can definitely feel a difference, everything runs smooth. I'll get her on the hwy to test the speedometer limit that I set (from 110 to 160mph). No, Im not going to attempt going 160mph on public roads, I just set it to that for now. I actually paid $373 for mine from http://www.autoanything.com

n00b question here but . . .

So i been hearing one of my friends, who drives a evoX, saying he got his car professionally 'tuned' the other day because of all the recent modifications he's done. he took it to a shop and they did it for him.

Is this the same kind of thing? Is this a performance tune? Is there any difference between this, and going to a shop to have your car custom tuned?

NO WAY!What your friend has is someone who spent a few hours trying to get the max output from the car, not just some generic stuff... Think about it, this is going to do the same thing to a stock 2.5 as it will one with intake/exhaust/pulley.

Ah ok that makes sense, it was all a bit confusing to me becuase he said he paid like 3-400 for the tune alone, and on top of that he got a unit like this that allows him to tune it himself . . .

So that got me to thinking, I am going to be putting that Ypipe and pulley on in the next 2 months or so, maybe I should get a tune too? this seemed like something convenient that I could use to custom tune my a/c after each mod i did, but as you explained thats a-hole-nother ball game lol

So is it safe to say, since I am using a few bolt ons, this is most likely not the most cost-effective way to be spending my money on mods?

AFAIK there isnt anyone doing tunes for our car as of yet... Although this bulldog thing seems like just feeding your car a can of redbull, you cant compare it to a custom tune where each aspect is changed to achieve the most output from the car along with its modifications...

Like an Equalizer, think of the bulldog as "radio" and "concert" settings, sure some of the stuff sounds better and is louder etc, but its not like having a pro move each of the levels based upon your environment!

Again this isnt my area of expertise, but I think im on point.

I havent rasied the rev limiter yet, right now stock is 6375 so i might raise it to 6500. I also need to increase the timing to +2.

I was waiting on installing it before I posted about it Someone beat me to it. I actually saw a thread on another Nissan forum then looked into it.

And yes for the 2.5, raise the rev limiter to 6800 max.

Will do bro!

The price is not bad considering that Super AFC's cast about the same.
