Don't forget to post some pics once you get everthing squared away. Did you already clean up the engine bay, or will that get taken care of just prior to installation?

Yea hopefully im going to just get a RB or SR motorset. Im just overwhelmed with all the work i still need to have done. I hope that the 5speed conversion is not too PITA. I still have some other questions i want to find out. Like, the wiring harness. Do you NEED to have that done by some place or what? and also, what other things should i be looking to get when i buy just a motorset (i.e- Intercooler, 255-lph)

Depending on which motor you go with will depend on what other types of details you need to attend to. With the SR you may be able to splice your own ecu depending on how good you are with electrons, wiring diagrams, and a soldering gun. If you're just talking basic swap, I would say larger injectors, new brake hardware to handle the extra power, and colder plugs would be good starting points. You'll probably wanna go ahead and pick up a few gauges and a GOOD radiator too. I've heard that sr's have issues with cooling. That's all that I can come up with right now since I've never had a boosted car before.

Yea. Maybe i should start asking around and stuff. I just dont want to post anywhere and get flammes ya know? I just dont want to get well over my head and find out i dont have the $$ to do ALL of what i NEED after i spent money on stuff i DONT.

On your last post it reminded me of my engine bay. For mine i was going to take it over to my uncle's machine shop and clean it out, and spray it with his gun gray. This way it takes out some of the dirt look later on

Thats a good idea. I would hate it for you to spend your hard earned $$ on non-essentials too bro. Money is hard enough to come by these days to waste any of it! That grey color should work out really well, btw what color are you going with on the exterior?

Well me and my grandfather are going to analyze the cars a bit more this weekend and see which has less work needed to be done and then we'll take that. If i use the 91' im keeping it black, if its the 93' i'd like to change it from the stock Red to that Cherry Metallicish color.

No guts no glory james!

10 under par in the BILO Charity classic. I think that was good enough to get me in 3rd place. Well actually my team since it was captains choice.

Brandon- congrats man! I guess either you're good at golf, or the rest of them suck! j/k.

clubsx- I think you should make one a daily driver and the other one a project. If you get an S13 SR20det, the wiring harness from tophat is only $100. For my car (S13 SR into S14 chassis) it's $300. Still worth not having the headache imo. As far as I know, of course I haven't started on my swap yet, the only other thing you absolutely have to buy, I think is the downpipe and then you can drive it. Of course you need to get a walbro fuel pump soon, and eventually upgrade your radiator, and go to a front mount intercooler, but the jdm car it came out of came originally with the side mount and stock radiator so it can't be that bad to drive with. Of course a 3 inch catback exhaust can't hurt either and I have one of those to get rid of.

Yea. Im sure SR would just be alot easier since its going from S-chasis(180) to S-chasis(240). What are you looking to sell that exhaust for?

I don't know, let me try to clean it up a little and see what kind of condition it's in, if it's in really good shape then probably about $100. I don't even know what kind it is, and it's pretty dirty. Are you interested? I'll also be ready to get rid of anything to do with the KA motor after the SR is in, so I'll let you guys know in case I have something yall need.

staticx1134, are you talking about the black s14 that was in the classifieds?

If it is I was thinking about getting it and stealing the 5 lug hubs, the z wheels, shocks and springs for my car and then parting the rest out.

Do you know if he'll be intrested in selling it after he takes the motor? If he is I'll buy it.

Maxima if you need any help putting in the sr let me know I'll be glad to help.

thanks man, right now I'm trying to figure out where all the little hoses go, cause it looks like a lot of them were cut off or something. Looks like I'm missing one small piece of intercooler hose ( about a 45 degree angled piece I can probably pick up at autozone, and I knew I was missing the maf, but I didn't realize that the whole air intake was missing. I guess when I get those things squared away and most or all of the parts I need, then I'll send off the wiring harnesses and start doing the swap. If you want to come down and help out especially for a practice run for your car, you are more than welcome to.

Wuz up everyone; just chillin' trying to stay dry. Alberto was dumping sheets of rain down here in Cola. yesterday. I didn't get out of class until 11:00 last night because the dumb Ford Explorer that I was working on was giving me problems when I was doing a front end alignment. Granted that it was a good learning experience for me, I had already gone through a long day @ work prior to class. Doing all this is really tiring but I know it will pay off in the end.

You know I'm going to come down and help. I haven't decided when I'm comming down again but if you have a specific weekend your wanting help let me know.

10 under par was enough to tie for 3rd place. Basically how it was set up was you had a team of 4 players. Everyone would take their swing and the captain would choose the best ball and we would collect our balls and move to where the best ball was and play from there. When your playing best ball if you don't come in around par your doing something wrong.

staticx1134, if you get it set the 5 lug hubs aside if you don't need them, and I'll buy them as soon as I get the money,(my kouki is feeling inadequate with only 4 lugs) if you don't get it let me know, and I'll snatch that thing up in a hurry.

The last time I played golf (also the first) I had more fun on the golf cart and I found out that I can throw the ball a lot farther and straighter than I can hit it.

LoL its not about the golf its about the cart and free beer at every hole. I walked out with two cases I ferreted in my bags. And the pre and after party had 3 fully stocked open bars and huge coolers topped off with beer that you didn't have to stand in line for. I also got a new golf bag two dozen balls and it was really cool just hanging out.

They auctioned off a 5 day racing school trip in Arizona for 4 at $27,000!!!! A HummerH3 for 35g a 06 Mustang GT fully loaded I didn't catch the price that one fetched. The nike store was packed *** holes and elbows the whole time. Limo service for the really big donators. I'm just a little fish in a big pond there but it was cool to go see. I'm still jazzed about the whole deal.

well, maybe I'll just have to spend some time getting everything ready, and then schedule a weekend to do the whole thing and you guys can come down and take part in it if you want. And, even though I wish to God there was someone who could do this for me right now, after it's done I'd be more than happy to bring mine up for one of yall to use as an example when you're trying to figure out where everything hooks up.

hmmmm..... I turn 21 this Saturday, I just might have to attend one of these events. You woudn't happen to need a golf cart driver/ caddy would you?

You can pay me with beer.

Man you guys, I'm in a bind. The guy that I'm buying my 240 from is leaving the country next Friday and I have to p/u the car this weekend due to my work and school schedule. My dilemma comes in because I'm trying to square away some stuff w/ my SCDL but I haven't been able to do so yet due to a delay @ the DMV. Should I expect to get my deposit back if I can't get the car b4 the guy moves?

The car is in Atl. I've talked to a couple of people here and things look promising, but I wanna have a back up plan for just in case things don't fall through. One of my co-workers says that he might be going that way on Saturday, so that's my first option since I'll be able to save a few bucks on gas. Ideally I would just like to tow it back to Columbia, albeit the car is drivable, but I only have $46 and I don't think that will be enough to rent a tow dolly and put gas in the tow vehicle. I still have today and part of tomorrow to square things away so I'll see what other options I can come up with.

Too bad i didnt have the money. Zenki ++++ RB25. Thats insane. Finally i see some light through the tunnel. I've recieved a pretty good pay check the other day from work and I have so many $1 bills in my drawer (because im a server) it looks like i robbed a gang of stripper's. I have decided that if i can find a low mileage KA that i will be going KA-T. That way i can get the parts that I want to get and also time by time, and swap in the 5speed at that time too
