Yea definately. Im going to wait a bit i guess. Crossing my fingers about this FNF stuff. Yea i really would rather just take the parts off the motors instead of taring it apart, and then putting back together.

maxima278 wrote:That actually sounds like a good plan. Why put so much work into 2 crap motors? I wonder what your black hatch would get you if you parted out the motor, then sold it as a shell, even without some interior pieces. I bet that along with parting out the other motor would get you close.
Seriously, why work harder than you have to. Allow your investment to create a return for you towards your new motor! It will be a lot easier to part it out and maybe even have the person remove it too

Does anyone know of anybody who currently has or will be getting a full S15 clip and is looking to sell the bumper support components? I'm looking for the two pieces that go under the bumper cover, the bumper retainer and the bumper reinforcement, shaded in red below...thanks.

Wuz up peeps, just checking in to see where everyone is in their lives. School is going good, I'm really learning a lot in this suspension and steering class. I got my tools on Tuesday and I'm stoked !! On the days that I have class (M-Th), the thought of turning wrenches keeps me going through the day and I look forward to going to school.

You might wanna talk to staticx1134 about that, albeit he's run into issues lately with his overseas connections. Options auto: http://www.optionsauto.com may also be able to help you with this. It's good that you brought this up, now I know to ask about these components when I get my S15 conversion done.

the duke got his car back from getting an sr swap done. good lord that thing is a beast. he let me drive it and damn, i was not expecting it to be that fast. maybe its just me but it seemed fast as hell. he got a front clip, aftermarket turbo manifold, cat, downpipe, vlsd, 5 spd conversion, and some other stuff they threw in like the digital climate control. i think he is VERY happy with the work that nsperformance did. they pressure washed and painted his engine bay and put the lsd in for him for free. makes me want to turbo my car sooner than i had planned

I got my SR! It's sitting in the garage right now, all I need is the time to work on it. I need to order a few more parts for it, then I guess I'll send off the wiring harnesses first, and then start working on changing out the motors.

scs13- that makes me feel good about what I'm doing, I don't know what to expect out of a stock SR, I know they only put about 180 to the wheels, but it doesn't sound like the duke has much more than a stock motor. and if it left that good of an impression on you, then it's got to be good.

I do have the 3 inch exhaust already on, an I'm going to get a 3 inch downpipe and I will have to get a cold air intake of some sort I guess, so I wonder how much horsepower that will add...

Also I wonder if it's hard to adjust the timing?

yeah, ive never driven a turbo car or even a sporty car with a decent amount of power like that before so i thought it was insane. that sudden surge of power is just awesome. i would probobly be happy with that much power for quite a while. im sure its addicting to keep trying to get more and more power though. oh and he paid 5500 for everything i believe. and what are the details about that clutch you were talking about? when would you be able to send it and stuff like that?

staticx- how does all the trunk carpet look in that 96? Mine is not the best, I'd love to replace it... Also, my radio trim (second one my car has had) is broken, so if you actually have one that is in one piece that would be awesome. Other than that, you know I want some kouki tail lights really bad, so if you come across another set let me know. That's all I can think of that mine needs as far as usdm oem stuff goes. I guess you won't know about all that till you get the car home will you? Just keep me in mind when you do.

Jordan- that clutch is a Nissan clutch with the pressure plate. You still need to buy a throwout bearing though. I can ship it if you want it.

Looks like my car will be joining the ranks of all the rest of the non-running 240s in here for a while when I start working on the SR swap.

Don't feel bad, you have a bigger start than I do, I'm still trying to tie up loose ends so that I can get my 240. I'm getting a little nervous cause the guy's parents want me to pick it up b4 June 23, but I don't know if I'll be able to or not. It hasn't gotten to a critical point yet, but time is winding.

Props to everyone that has made progress on their projects!! It's good to hear about the positive things in others lives

Yeah, I know what you mean. I remember riding in my friends 25th Anniversary FC RX-7. I'm not sure if it was boosted or not, but that thing was fast as a mofo!

I do have paypal, it's the same as my email address, I think $25 should cover it.

I almost hate to rip my car apart now. It's all cleaned up sitting in my garage with that shiny new exhaust on it and running fine. But oh well, I guess it's time to take it to the next step, right?
