That's a really clean swap Luke, congratulations. Did they dyno tune it for you or do you still need to get that done?

HCI magazine, this month's issue, has a write-up on preparing and turbocharging a KA24 if you want to do some reading up on it.

That SR swap looks clean and nice, I hope I can make mine look that good.
ClubSX wrote:Yea, i might have to email some SR and KA-T guys and give them my whole story. Im pretty sure it'll be SR. The thing that gets me is i still have to do a 5speed swap = /
5 speed swap aint bad at all. If you get a clip you should have everything you need except maybe the driveshaft and I know you can find one of those pretty easily.

Well, once again things have changed. My grandfather looked at all thats wrong and stuff and think's it would be best to just sell both and buy something. I dont think its too bad of an idea i guess. I'd have to part out thought because both are just hideous.

I told him though if im not driving a 240 i dont want to drive at all

what is so bad about them? The thing is most parts are readily available and cheap in the NICO classifieds, and you're going to throw the whole drivetrains in the garbage and use something else, so I don't see the point in getting something nicer and more expensive to do the same thing with. Aren't the bodies pretty straight?

Yea. His deal is that i wont have the money to get this **** fixed. Here ALL that i know is wrong with both cars

91'Radiator is broken, broken axel, brake line is broken, engine is knocking, rust under the hood by radiator, dirty carpet, door lock motor dead, no hatch interior, auto, rust on hatch, no radio

93'Hole in block, auto, ripped driver's leather seat, complete broken quarter window, needs paint, tires have no thread left, rust on hatch, no radio

Here's an idea, you want to build a motor right? Whether it's a KA or SR, it's obviously not going to be the motor in either one of those cars. You could use one of your 240s as simply a temporary host for your motor project and then either swap everything into a better chassis or do the body work required on the one you have, which unless there's a lot of rust, bondo, or dents I don't see a reason to get rid of it.

Seeing how i didnt start on either of them yet. I kinda like the idea of parting out the parts. I wouldnt mind getting rid of both and finding a nice black Zenki like i used to have =/. Im thinking of doing that.

A nice black zenki.. that sounds cool. I like S14s better than S13s anyway.

Don't worry I still think S13s kick *** too. I'm sure you'll have a kick *** car either way. One of these days I may be looking for a cheap S13 body to build a drift car out of, maybe you'll still have one by then

Well peeps, I got the pig and it runs really good. Pulls strong and shifts really smooth. I'll post up some pics a little later, my wife is mad @ me right now. It's all good though, enter Silvia and I can finally join the ranks of Nissan owners.

CONGRATS!!!! It was a long time coming man! Your wife will get over it, it's better to ask forgiveness than permission right? j/k I first heard that saying once when my uncle went out and secretly bought a turbo MR2, but his wife came to like it later.

Sounds like you got a good car, once I start pulling my KA24 out, you may go from the guy with no 240 to the only one in here who has one that is legal and in good running condition for a while.

good luck with the build!

Thanks for the accolades y'all !Yeah, she will get over it, time heals all wounds. I'll have to remember that saying for the next time. I'm gonna try to take care of the dmv stuff this week, but I probably won't have time with my busy schedule. It's sitting @ my moms house right now until I can get everything squared away to drive it. I need to go over there and disconnect the battery though cause right now I don't know how long it will be before I'll be able to finalize everything. I do also need to replace the passenger side mirror. The glass is missing, but at least the guy threw in a replacement for me along with a replacement front pass. fender and headlight cover albeit they need to color matched to the car.

I just figured that I would throw a testimony out for you all. The guy that I rode down there with has an SR in his 240, and it did pretty well overall. He had a problem with the car running high temps and he didn't have a/c. He also had to run stock boost because of an exhaust leak. The car still behaved like a 4-cyl, but I really had an appreciation for the power differential when I compared the performance of the SR vs the single cam KA in my car.

I think I'll be happy with the SR's performance, I mean loads of people out there love their sr 240s so why wouldn't I? The only thing is, it is the first 4 cylinder car Ive had in many years so I'll have to get used to that.

Although, after driving the van to work every day, a KA powered 240 (the one time each week I get to drive mine) feels like a rocket, so I can't imagine what the SR is going to be like.

btw I my SR has the lines fabbed up for AC, so I'll have AC

hey guys tell me what you think, instead of selling my KA, what if I found a crappy S13 for a few hundred bucks and just dropped it in with maybe a better clutch and a used lsd and then take it to drift events and flog the hell out of it? I've seen a few coupes around here that might fit the bill and maybe a hatch or two.

Of course it would be a little while before I could do it because I think my wife has just about had enough of me dropping money in this pit.

What's up? I was just wondering if there were any meets planned for the week of July 14th-23rd???

I'll be up that way(Holden Beach, NC) for family vacation that whole week. If there aren't any NICO meets going on, where do the Myrtle Beach folks hang out, or should I say where's THE SPOT???

I wonder if we could set something up somewhere? None of us live near myrtle beach but we should set up a meet some time this summer.

It would be good to have a meet. The topic came up before and I was thinking that it was agreed upon that the Skyline Club would be a good location for various reasons. I don't know where that is in relation to Myrtle Beach or Willmington. I would like to meet you all face to face just be on a more personal level with y'all. It should definitely be before NOPI though imo.

i definetly think we should have a meet sometime soon. but we must all agree that i have to have my car running whenever we do it. i think we should do something involving some hardcore driving too. i have been wanting to go to the tail of the dragon for a long time and i think that would be an awesome place to meet.

I'm down for whatever, even a little hard core driving. I know that I won't have any mods done to the car between now and then, but I'll come out and flog it a little anyway. I just need to make sure that I get an extra set of tires

yeah, I'm with you I hope I have my car down, then back up and running with the SR by then. Did you get the clutch yet??

stock is fine, most of us in here don't have much more than that anyway, and if we do something like the tail of the dragon I think we should take it easy anyway since most of us are probably not that experienced yet.
