wow, first of all i hate to be the cause for everyones pent up agression to release itself all over the effing place.. you guys are uptight.. anyways..Youre silly if you think that i dont know this is the wrong way to do it, but hey who cares? not me, what?! what!? do something...but i digress... nothin like a little experimentin' besides there are wayyyyyy more unsafe cars on the road than a 240 w/ chopped springs.. i cant count on my two hands how many people do this, but they all do it wrong thats why their car rides like crap. they just go a cutting away all wheely nily.. not all of us can afford nice coilovers.. man i bet every one of you have seen an s13 w/ cut springs and went wow.. that looks good. but i bet if you found out that they were in fact cut, youd have some snide *** comment to make.. now dont get me wrong im not bashing anyone.. also sorry to whom it may concern for bringing back this subject.. . im cutting my springs.. do something about it beside talking.. oh you cant.. whatev. the end.

300hp is safe on the road? 12in of lift on a truck is safe? hell cars arent safe.. im a good driver.. i can handle my own work riding underneath me. My car riding around with cut springs is safer than an eighty yr old blind woman driving an 09 volvo.

you're and idiot and may take Nala's throne as the Facepalm king. Stick your junk in the microwave in a hopeful attempt to irradiate yourself plz. I try not to hate so much any more but GD is $200 for a set of S-techs too much to ask? cutting your springs is almost as retarded as trying to defend it to ppl smarter than yourself

see the thing about cut springs is this when you cut the spring there is no longer a seat(flat spot of the coil that meets the spring perch) without thins there is no certain place that the spring will rest, when this happens you ahve a stock length dampener with a spring that is shorter, and without a seat. Its not so bad in the front but in the back where you look at the spring perch, it is not cupped, as in the same shape of the coil itself, which is where the spring would sit. which will allow the spring(when the dampener is strecthed to its maximum height) to no longer have a proper seat on the spring. Which will cause the springs in the rear to fall lower then the actual seat itself and the spring will be loose and cause al;l kinds of adverse affects as in get caught in your rim, tire, or other suspension components, i.e. damaging more then you intended to pay for. Its just an uncostly manuever that will cost you more then you expected. Im not saying that if your going for looks dont do it, go ahead i dont care its your car. But in the long run it MAY cause you more problems then you thought. I only know this from experience. Take from it what you will.

please please dont get me wrong.. i understand the dynamics of suspension components.. and the effects of modifying them.. but what you are all missing is that this is not my daily driver.. this is my rat rod.. my fun car, i drive it to where i want to slide, have fun, then go home.. its an expendable vehicle.. i know what im doing believe it or not.. he he, but everyone seems to be jumping to conclusions.. eventually i will make this car lovely and people will stop and stare.. but for now its my beater fun wagon.. i was just hoping for a little information from an information forum, forgive me.. please oh nissan masters wont you forgive me?! psh .. i see that SOME of you are just know it alls.. just like all the other douche nozzles i have to deal with on a regular basis.. again this is not directed at anyone.. im just saying... lighten up.

ok its a "drift car" but what happens when the spring gives in? then what...you just gonna part the car? sell the car? you then gotta pay for towing/ fixing if you even care about the car. Think about the expenses....

of course i care about it.. but im not an easy way out type of guy.. thats seems to be the trend with most "tuners" these days... or whatever theyre called.. if something breaks i fix it.. i accept responsibility for my own actions.. i know the risks involved going in..

everyone here is just warning you about the bad things that can happen. you are even getting the physics. WE'RE TRYING TO WARN YOU!!! you know the risks yet you still wanna go through with it...no1 wants to see anyone get hurt or worse from a cheap decision. im on 4x4 status and you know what...I LOVE IT!!! deal with it...a 240 is sexy with just stock suspension.

oh i get it.. i really do.. but my point is i asked a question and they could have just said..."nope, no write up.." and moved on.. i mean YOU may be concerned, but most of the people who replied just wanted an excuse to cuss at everyone and make an *** of themselves..

even the thought of cutting springs is madness to people. (THIS IS SPARTA!!!) everyone hears of the risks and the accidents. of course people could have said "no no write-up" but the thought of it being considered just drives people crazy.... to be honest not getting on anyone, if you want a write up...go to a honda forum / google.

people tell you why you shouldnt cut the springs. just save up for lowering springs. in the end you wont be facepalming yourself when you get better fuel mileage, less tire wear, and yes even a better ride. cut springs FTL
