thanks, and GL, keep it going
Thanks man :D By workshed do you mean the garage my car is in? It's been at my house since it was built in the 50's

If its any consilation. I just got a 89 the other day with a SR in it. Bought it from REPO MAN here on NICO. Anyhow, yeah gas factory in the garage....OH YEAH. I just checked my injectors and no leaks, cleaned MAF, still same damn ****. So maybe i can have mine running before you. But nevertheless i hope we both get them going.

I will keep watching this build, it looks great love reading about ppls builds.
Yeah man, sounds like a similar problem. Did you try switching the fuel lines? If you did, was it really hard to get it started and keep it running if you even got it started at all? Definitely let me know if you get it running and what you did. We'll get this thing figured out!

okay so i got it running and staying running but now im running PIG RICH again on this thing. IDK i hope you have better luck on this engine than i am. I dontknow if i need my ECU remapped or not. I shouldnt since its all stock and its a stock ecu. And as for the fuel lines, no i havent changed them yet. But let me know if you get yours going with the top feed. I may go with what you got.

Does anyone know if I would suffer a loss in torque if I went with a short runner manifold without running a larger turbo? I've been looking at the GReddy short runner and I found one on Enjuku for a sweet price.http://enjukuracing.com/greddy...24_62

those expensive though, i plan on going with a knock off unit. you will lose some torque, but chances are if you REALLY wanted torque, you'd have a different engine in there

Try putting your fuel filter line on the other end of the fuel rail. I did that today and the fuel seemed to be running through fine. When I went to start it up though, it wouldn't crank...... Pretty sure my batter is dead It's always something.

Yeah it is definitely not a cheap setup, but I've been wanting to do it and it's something I plan on doing later on anyway. As far as knock off brands go, I was seriously considering the KU Engineering kit on eBay, I don't know if you've seen it or not but it seems pretty legit. For the torque thing, yeah you are right I would have chose a different motor if I was going for big torque, but I don't want to LOSE torque, ya know?

lol yeah i know what you mean, i dont want to lose torque either. i've heard good review though from similar intake manis. there's a member on here using an ebay knock off and he's putting down like 400+ hp.

do you have a link to the manifold you mentioned?

I'm not cranking at all now, WTF!!!!!!All I did was take out the fuel rail and put it back in. The fuel pump primes fine, then I turn the key and the starter starts to turn and then it just locks up and the motor kind of jerks a little. I don't get why this is happening all the sudden.

nice analogy. ill go with that:

my CA is like that girl that grew up with many people hating on her and when pops into your life and pleases you no matter how hard you bang on her and beat her shes only thinkin "i need to make him happy cuz he picked me". just a lil TLC and attention and shes happy as ever. you can dress her with whatever upgrades or leave her plain and simply stock and she will still give you the joy of riding her.

ey matt are there any goods from either junkyards? ....u prolly wont get this message in time so ill just txt you

Sitting. I got the fuel problem worked out, the pump is priming fine now.... no backing up. Now my car wont crank though. The starter turns for about a half second and then locks up and the motor kind of jerks. I dunno what the hell is wrong with it so I'm about to stop messing with it for a while and take some parts off to polish them up in the mean time hahaha.Any ideas?

Did you end up getting your car running good?

UPDATE!!!

Okay so today I went out to the garage and spent some time with big red.I still couldn't think of any reasons why the car wouldn't be cranking so I started checking things. I took out my plugs because I thought that maybe I had another liquid lock.... oh man oh man did I ever. There was so much fuel sitting in the cylinders I could see it just by looking down in there. So I got all the fuel out and it started cranking again. SO! I hooked the fuel lines up (fuel filter to FPR) and once again the fuel pump was straining and getting backed up. So I switched the lines, return to FPR, and then I got WAAAYY too much fuel and got another liquid lock.I'm not sure what the freakazoid is wrong with my fuel setup but I'm about to order a new fuel rail, possibly top mount with a manifold to go with it We'll see what happens!

Tested injectors, spark, and maf... All working properly. I fixed my fuel pump relay issue and I no longer have to have it hooked up to a grounded switch to control the fuel pump. I just found the wire on the ECU that goes to the Fuel Pump Relay and wired it directly to the relay wire.So I figured maybe that would help a little? Nope, I tried to start it and got another liquid lock. My guess is either my CAS is bad or plugs have gone bad and I am no longer getting spark OR 550cc injectors are too big to even be able to start the car. Any thoughts?

Nah my fpr is going to the return side. And i just ordered another fpr the other day still waiting on it to come in. sorry about the whole thing going funky on you now. I am assuming that you redid your ecu for those 555 injectors? I dont know much else about whats going with your car. It seems like youve done almost everything to see whasts going on. Im still have same problem with mine that i was before. so im going to check all my intercooler piping this weekend and test all of that.

But maybe make a video with sound on what your car is doing that might help when people watch it to get an idea of whats going on. my walbro pump is hooked to a toggle switch on my dash, so i can turn in on and off manually and ive never had a problem with that. so maybe try that. Ill keep watching and hope you get her going.

i think you should just find a working KA or something...swap it out and do complete rebuild for the coupe

-u get the hatch driving-tracing your problems would be easier cuz you know what you changed-get a chance to drive a 240 again stead of an old truck

if not then call me up yo! lemme know whats been up and whatre you planning on doin...

Already thought about it but it's so close now and I finally got a hold of stock injectors!!! They should be here by Wednesday and HOPEFULLY they will solve all of my cars problems. I'm pretty sure the reason the motor keeps flooding is because the last time I put the injectors in they aren't seated right, and they never fit as good as the stock ones anyway, so fuel was leaking past the o-rings all the time. It makes perfect sense. Then all I need to do is install the turbo timer and get my gauges setup right. I definitely need to get up with you though.

First off, thanks man. That means a lot, it really makes me want to keep doing more and doing it the right way.

I recently lost my job so I'm not really able to spend a lot on quality parts right now so I've got to put a few things like a boost controller and defi gauges on hold for a while. Don't worry, this doesn't mean I'm going to get cheaper alternatives. I did however get a hold of stock 370cc injectors, platinum NGK spark plugs and a recirculation fitting for my BOV all for $103 shipped from Heavy Throttle! They are having a rediculous final inventory sale so I jumped on it as soon as I saw it. Once my parts come in I will be installing them and hopefully my car will be running If you're interested in the sale, check out this site http://srownersclub.com/garage.aspGrab the parts while they are still there!

Today sucks so far.

I found out my knock sensor only had 1 wire pinned to the plug, so I had to take my lower intake manifold off to get to it so I can re-pin it. While I was taking it off I found a lake of fuel in each runner, just sitting there. Then I went to put my injectors in the fuel rail and I broke one of the caps that screws into the rail and lost another. Now I've gotta play the waiting game again. Damn
