TBW,

so for the M45 guys, you will send out the 1/2" spacers and longer bolts for the rear section (4) and that should make it fit?
sorry for being so cautious, but don't want to get her jacked up to do this swap and find out it's not working...
But, I want to be true to my word that I'd buy one.

Yes - Just make sure to leave a note specifying that you are M45 and I will add spacers and longer bolts to accommodate.

You should always be cautious. Never apologize for that! If it were to have any issues I would return the item. I stand by my products :)

I just pulled the trigger and purchased a brushed aluminum one!! Can't wait to get it and mount it up. Planning on changing my belts soon, so I'll switch out the under tray at the same time.

Just to confirm this is only an issue with the M45? I'll be able to change the oil and the filter without removing anything on the M35x 2008 once ilya confirms the fit?

In process of mounting as I type. However, had to change my serpentine/Power steering/oil pump belt first + taking pics.

Man, I love this thing!! Looks waaaay nicer than the stock, floppy plastic tray. Professional fit and finish!

Thank you TBW!!!

came with replacement bolts which is really nice, some of the original ones I replaced were really rusted.
I plasti-dipped mine since I bought the brushed aluminum version and not the powder coated one.

I should be getting the next test shield early next week...hoping this one will be the one. If it is, TBW will be ready to start producing for the M35x guys.

I know this may be a stupid request but would it be possible to have the words oil frail plug and oil filter stamped onto the door so that people at the shop will use the door instead of removing the entire assembly? Some of these guys working at the quick lubes stent exactly accustomed to this new shield.

Good news, M35x guys! I got another version of the shield today and this one is pretty damn close to perfect fitment. Might just be my car, but I had to finagle it a bit. I sent the info to John, but he should have a shield for you guys VERY soon.

Here's two pics of it installed while the car was on the lift. I did not drive the car yet (I'm also redoing my exhaust right now).

Zip ties FTW!! Is that the official mounting fastener? Looks good. I would like to know if there is any noise or vibration at high speeds?

lol...I use zip ties a lot. I haven't driven the car yet (will tonight once I button up the exhaust - needed to get new bolts since all of mine rusted and I had to cut them all).

I'm going to speak to TBW again about the shield so we're getting close to getting a proper fit.

Car is still on the lift at home. I'll take one tonight while I'm finishing the exhaust.

Took the car on the interstate today and all sounded well. Didn't hear any weird noises from the front. This is a solid piece of hardware. I like it. The drain bolt may be an issue for the M35x guys (still looking into it), but even for the aesthetic/protection benefits, it's worth the money.

You mean the drain bolt is under the shield? I guess you could use this tool if needed

Any ideas on final cost to us?

It's not an issue to unscrew the bolt, but draining the pan. I think TBW has a plan for fixing this though.

Since We are making adjustments across the country - I wasn't there to check the drain plug. I expected it to be like the G35X/M35X/FX35 etc where the drain plug is accessible with the same size door. I have made adjustments to it. i'll show you guys what it is gonna look like.

Side - you can see the rear wraps under the back section
Image

top - you can see the rear overlaps because its 2 layers

TBW I wasn't DOH'ing your miss with this part, it's very understandable that working on something like this remotely isn't a perfect process it's trial and error. I was DOH'ing at my failure to see that it's not just removal of the bolt that is the issue rather the draining of the oil as well. :rotfl
