LOL I reserve that term for two other reasons. The first is when it's a Wednesday and something great happens the second is when my wife and I ..... you get the picture :rotflmao

Received my tray yesterday,

This might sound dumb but before I get into something not knowing, I'm assuming its just remove and install?

Installed mine today. First I had a few clips that had broken free from the plastic so I had to clamp the clip down then remove the bolts. That created an issue while installing the new unit since there was nothing left to put the new clips onto. So I actually have 3 holes without screws. The remaining were a pain to install as I was working under the car being on jack stands.

I strongly recommend you do this under a lift and expect to have broken plastics. It may be better to pick up used plastics from a junk yard before undertaking this. These are all car issues.

The part arrived quite quickly and in excellent condition. Packaging was quite meticulously done in a type of shrink wrap then into a cardboard box. No scratches. I strongly recommend buying the additional hardware kit because my bolts could not be reused. They were so rusted and the clips were ready to snap.

The piece looks amazing after install. Even though I have 3 bolts not installed there were no noises generated and I drove about 1 hour on the highway. While I had the old one off I took the liberty to spray asphalt undercoating everywhere. I also found my block heater cable and plug. I then sprayed graphite grease on all the suspension bushings and closed it all up. Just getting her ready for a LOOONG winter.

Yeah I'm missing some holes too (all of my radiator bolts for example snapped off lol). Living in the northeast SUCKS...weather wreaks havoc on the car.

No humidity is nice - but the high heat we get here in Vegas can be downright miserable at times.

I have not read the whole post - but worked with you tollbooth on the tray for my car...

Just a heads up (you may already know) the tray is not plug and play for X model vehicles... I made mine work... but just a FYI. The front half shroud is perfect - the under sway tray is way off.

yes for the M45 - haven't tested any on the M45X. So few out there dunno if the chassis is the same as the M45, or the M35X, or neither.

Do you have any left for the M35x? How well does the black coating hold up?

Thanks!

Anyone here experiencing rattling? Did you install it with some rubber isolators? Also Aluminum to steel causes galvanic corrosion should we perhaps have a pad between?

Nope, no rattling. Even trying to bend it by hand when under the car it doesn't budge.

They have to be electrically conducting from one of the metals to the other for that to happen. While our cars do use the body as a ground path back to the battery, that area down there is not really a place that would ever be the quickest path back, so electricity wont be flowing from one area of the body (steel) through the plate (aluminum) and then back into the body just to get back to the battery.

I'll have a closer look on Monday. Enigma don't forget I live where they salt the roads. Salt+snow=electrolyte.

Finally got the time and decent weather to install the Under tray. Didn't have access to a lift so had to do it with jack stands. Definitely way better that the crappy OEM splash shield.
