Hey what does your type r bov sound like. There are a couple of us on here that are curious to see if it really sounds like it is surging. My car sounds like it is suring but im not sure. It worked fine on my stock turbo but when i upgraded to a 60-1 all i hear is surging.

S14_NEO has a Type R BOV, and Type R Wastegate dumping running a 60-1... All I can say is that its the nastiest sound ever when he touches that pedal.

Sounds pretty mundane to me. I've actually had this douche bag gate guard on my base tell me I needed to "get rid of that stock BOV so you can turn up the boost!". I did my best not to laugh. As if the idle with cams wasn't enough of a clue, along with the 275 nitto's out back.

I don't buy BOV's for sound, but if that was what I was into, this one wouldn't be it. I'll see if I can get a vid or something later.

I like to refer to it as the worm gear clamp capital of engine bays.

Darius, the bay looks sweet but can you do something about that recirculation pipe going across the top of the engine connecting what looks like the BOV to the turbo inlet? It really makes things a bit busy...

Anyways, I wish my bay looked that clean!

That was my only option. Couldn't fit the BOV on the hot side let alone recirc plumbing for it, and didn't want to spend another $45 on a stupid silicone bend to make it run in front of the CAS.

I don't really mind the way it looks and it is out of the way of the oil cap and everything else, so I think I can live with it until I decide to go MAP. Plus it keeps my oil catch line company.

I think your engine bay looks good enough as is. It'd be different if it were dirty as hell or mismatching colors, but at least it's clean.

looks good darius. i'd get a turbo blanket and wrap or coat the downpipe, or say goodbye to your valve cover paint the coated turbine probably won't be enough

The turbo housing and top leg of the down pipe are coated both internally and externally. Don't you think that will be enough? The stuff on the down pipe is called Cermashine so it looks like polished metal.

The manifold and lower exhaust pipe with dump pipe is coated on the exterior and as far down on the interior as they could reach (~12").

If my valve cover paint goes, I'll be happy to get them high-temp powder coated. All it is right now is auto body paint and it's already starting to bubble off from the heat in places...

I will update my build thread so we can continue this discussion there. I don't want to get off the topic of engine bay pics here

haha I was just joking around with cdorhout about it but I could have put 1/3 of the price down in cash for a new GT-R with how much I've spent on this thing. I cringe at how big my retirement account would be right now. I think this car has cost me about 10 years in early retirement savings.

When it comes right down to it, we all simply want to drive the things whether they have stock power or more.

^ Did your car go through a flood? LOL jk. It may be dirty, but at least it's running. Which is a lot more than many of us NRRBA members with spotless engine bays can say LOL

Those Cobra rims look awesome. What's the backspacing on them? You need to adjust you camber hard core too.

thanks! iirc its 17x9 +26 all the way around. Need a slight pull/roll in the rear to fit my 275 DRs, but they look sick otherwise! That rear camber does need some work, lol been trying to get it all buttoned up before I start w/ new projects.

why is your turbo blanket covering the compressor side of your "master power" turbo???
