Eh, it's more of a design flaw from the manufacturer. Chris, are you sure that turbo is similiar to a 30r? It spools up really low in the rpm range on that SR. Most dyno's I've seen of SR's with say a 2871r hit full boost at ~4000rpm on the dyno. Although, dyno dynamics load the wheels, so the engine "acts" more like it would on the road where it would spool the turbo a few hundred rpm sooner. I dunno, it's 6am and I've been up since 10am yesterday (at work now) so I'm a bit tired.

Supposedly, everyone says it's like a 50 trim Garrett...not really sure what that means. I just sold my Pulsar turbo, got $370 shipped for it, sold within like 5 hours on Zilvia haha. It was a fun turbo, but it's time for moar powerrrr!

Quick question for you SR people, KA-T too I guess. My roommate's car has an sr, t25 at 10 psi, and has a bogging issue. It only happens at full throttle, it builds boost fine, exhaust gets really loud, but it doesn't go anywhere, it just bogs. Kinda like when you shift too soon or go into a higher gear than you meant to. He boost leak tested everything from the hot pipe to the throttle plate and didn't find anything, it might be something post throttle body since it only happens at full boost, but it idles fine and doesn't sound like he has a vacuum leak. The only thing I can think of is that he's running a stock FPR with a Walbro pump. A new FPR is on the way so that will rule that out soon, but is there anything else that you can think of? I haven't driven my car in a while so I have no idea what it is, it honestly feels fast to me since I've been driving a truck all Summer haha.

knock sensor? I was at 12 psi and could get smoked by hondas(not really but you get it) wiring to the sensor was shot, after that repair it would fly, never could sort it out this motor.

does the car get a sharp power hit around 5000rpms?

Bingo, he unplugged it, reset the ecu, plugged it back in and it doesn't bog anymore. Thanks!

not sure what gains will come on the t25, but I know I picked up another 60~80 whp. Glad its sorted, make sure you reset the ecu too!

Glad he fixed the issue. My first thought would have been a tired stock FPR being overrun by the Walbro and he was just running too rich. My transmission is on the way out. I knew I shouldn't have cheaped out and sold the SR trans while keeping my higher mileage KA one. Oh well, live and learn. Question, why can't I see any pics posted on NICO when I'm on my home computer? All I get is a constant loading circle/symbol.

Yeah I think the FPR gets here tomorrow, that should rule out everything fuel related.

As far as the pictures, maybe try clearing your cache?

Doesn't work :/ B/t work and school I haven't really had a ton of free time anyway to try and figure out why it's this way. I'll get around to it though. If my trans is indeed going, I think I'm going to swap in a 300zx trans. I'd like the Z33 trans, but the prices have skyrocketed lately and I don't like the shifter placement with the Z33 trans. I don't know, we'll see.

Not sure, school started again so I'm attributing it to that.

Experienced an earthquake today, I guess that was pretty neat.

Nothing really going on with cars for me. Vacation starting tomorrow (hopefully avoiding a hurricane). And football trips start next week, 4 weekends in a row, gonna be broke).

^Be cafeful dude. My best advice? Buy a bike that you can use on track and only use it there. I've seen dozens of accident patients come in the ER in only a month (in an ~65,000 population area) and the motorcycle ones are always worse. Even if the person is alive, they have more current (broken bones, spinal cord injuries) and future injuries (back problems esp.) You're just more likely to get permenantly screwed in a bike accident and usually it's bc someone else caused it, not the motorcyclist. I've started school too. One more year to go. Have fun at the football games biggie, and yes, you'll be broke, but it'll be fun :)

Good luck avoiding Irene Biggie, hopefully you're heading west haha. I was planning on heading back home this weekend to work on my car, but this hurricane might make me stay down here. Home for me is in the "extreme" threat level area, and even though my neighborhood has the highest elevation in the city it's still only 5 feet above sea level. As long as the water doesn't get into my garage I'll be happy.

ha thanks buddy.

so my buddy has a tommy k skyline gtr r33, he blew the head gasket then took it to nissan to have them put a new one on. 1000 miles later the engine blew (he says it threw a rod(assuming it has rod knock). he wants me to swap out the engine for him, he already ordered another and trans, and for payment he said i can have the old engine and all accessories. so should i put the rb26 in my car when i get to that point? that would be crazy..

RB26 swap would be sex :) But, since you jacked your leg, you should probably focus on paying that bill so you don't ruin you credit lol. You can set up a long term payment plan with the hospital/doctor (you know $50-100 a month or so for however long). How old are you? A few years ago, I was able to get private insurance plan through Blue Cross with $3000 max out of pocket per yr (like if I had been admitted to hospital), $2 million max payout, 4 paid for (no co-pays) doctor visits a year, covered immunizations (had to get Hep B sequence for nursing school), covered bloodwork, etc. basically a decent coverage plan considering it wasn't employer subsidized, for around $90 a month bc I was in the 19-29 yr old age group (still am, just have mandatory coverage through my nursing program now).

Yeah, those orders got curtailed due to a career field shortage. Now we're going to Dover AFB Delaware, which is where we wanted to go to begin with. For us Dover is the closest base to both of our families.

^Cool, worked out in the end then didn't it? Moto, I know you're responsible man, i was just giving you a hard time about not paying and all. You also don't have to swap the RB in the 240. You can just keep it sitting around for a future project.

homesizzle no worries bud. and not a bad idea about keeping the rb on the side... i know it sounds F&F of me, but i have a 65 mustang fastback my grandma handed down to me.. lol how sick would it be to have an awd 65 fast back? sounds tight to me! haha

No, that would be awesome actually. If you don't do the RB, you could always keep it era-specific and build up a nice 289 for it.

well right now it has a factory 289 with a factory 4 barrel and a 4 speed. but other than that its pretty lame. no rust for the most part, but the body is kinda beat up. its been painted 3 times. when my g'pa bought it he re did the interior and then got to old to work on it. so its been in a garage for 35+ years. im pretty pumped on it but i gotta finish one project before i start another lol

An RB in a Mustang? That might be too fast...and too furious.

Just bought a new exhaust manifold, I'll post pictures of fitment and quality.
