Bummer for the dude in Korea...I did 2 years there. Don't remember a whole lot of it :chuckle:

If you think the motor is reliable then I'd snag the dude for a grand. You can finally stop being a puss with the boost :dblthumb:

Hahaha it comes with 550's and I have a z32 mafs, so I'll definitely up the boost from my current 9 psi. I datalogged yesterday and I have an event coming up where I'll be hitting the limiter a lot, turns out I'm at 91% duty cycle at 6200 rpm. I definitely need to adjust my wastegate again so I'm not at as high of a duty cycle, especially since the rev limiter is higher than 6200.

What do you use for your dataloging?

Consult cable and ECUTalk software. You select what you want to monitor and it dumps everything to a .txt file.

Cool. I need to get a consult cable and the PLMS developments cable so that I can go see a NIStune tuner :) Will probably use Datascan along with it.

Hmm, I should log my injector duty cycle as well.
I'm running 8 psi instead of 9, but 91% at 6200 seems a bit high!

Yeah, anything above 75% is considered unsafe, I bet if you hit the limiter at full boost you'd be really close to 100%. I thought about pulling a WD and just upping my fuel pressure, but I'd rather be safe than sorry!

When I blew my ringlands on the dyno my duty cycle went up to 101%, that was at 12 psi though haha.

Apparently my car is loud. That is according to the young guys in a caddy with windows down that thought it'd be funny to floor it from a red light. Top of 2nd they had to slow down to put their hands over their ears.

Congratulations, you're doing it right!

My clutch decided to let go yesterday, no matter what gear I'm in it starts slipping when I hit boost. I'm having a new disc shipped to me, but including transit time I have 4 days to get the new one in. fml

For real. It gets here Thursday so I have time to swap it in before the track, but ugh I hate pulling the transmission out from under the car.

Edit: My head gasket is for sure blown. Time to kill it at the track come Sunday!

I tried to do a transmission install with the motor in...f*** that. I screwed around for awhile and then decided to pull the whole thing and stab it as a unit. Maybe on a lift with a jack...

Anyway, where did u purchase the datacable chingus? I would like to mess around with it and log all the factory parameters before I modify anything. Are the text files clearly labled or? I have been tuning cars for years now...atleast my own...and have never really logged anything other then knock and AFRs.

well i figured this would be the best place to start on this site, first off i just came from Zilvia and those guys are pretty much di cks hoping this wont be the same

im buying my 3rd and 4th s13 tomorrow, the first one is a 92 that was sent into a tree on the passenger side but has everything still in the car, comes with a ka24de with full engine back exhaust, brand new transmission, short shifter, and a racing harness, the second is a clean 89 shell on coil overs, basically im looking to do a dual cam swap and eventually turbo it, i want to do a wire tuck and everything i can while the motor is out of the shell to make it clean and help with all the work im gonna do later, pretty much just looking for some constructive criticism on steps i should take and possibly some good parts sources for things like aftermarket fuse boxes and such

Assignment to CA got canceled and we're now going to Dover AFB in Delaware. East Coast FTMFW, getting away from CARB is such piece of mind.

these headlights (ab flags) are really rare, so instead of hunting a set down and spending over 600 batz, I thought i could try to find someone who could make me a set.

A friend of mine makes clear lenses for zenkis and koukis, I've talked to him about making the Ab Flug lenses but never got around to doing it. If you're serious about wanting them I'm sure he'll make you a set. Here are his zenki lenses, these were the first run so they've gotten a lot better.

I got the transmission back on last night, had to karate kick it while a friend ninjy chopped it. Now I just have to put the bellhousing bolts back in, starter, drivesahft, downpipe, bleed the clutch, etc, then break in. All in about 18 hours haha.

I've been working too much to even bother with the car (I was supposed to be taking it easy this summer lol) that and it's been 95 degrees or so and super humid everyday for the past couple of weeks :/ I'm going to bring the car to a somewhat local shop beginning of July to run on their dyno.

Built engine comes with 550cc's...I already have a z32 mafs...sounds like it's time for MOAR BOOST.

I really like the t28 I have. I drifted a friend's ka-t with a Holset he35, made sooo much power but anything under 3500 rpms was useless because the turbo spools so late. I think what I'm going to do with this new engine is run that new xs power top mount manifold, a t3/t2 adapter, and just run my current turbo top mount. I'll have to get a new downpipe made, but once I upgrade to a t3 (possibly an hx30) I'll only have to weld a new dp flange on since the turbo will be in the same spot. Or maybe I'll just flip this manifold and weld in some bracing, instant top mount t2 mani haha.

Woot, Woot, East Cost Holla! Delaware's OK, a lot of retirees; I think they have really low or no state tax. They have really high sales tax to compensate. Over all I think it's a cheaper cost of living than the surrounding states of MD, NJ, and Eastern PA.

Chris- I'm interested in a set of Zenki's. I just did a 3m treatment on mine with a huge improvement but there were spot where the previous owner got over spray on the sides of the lenses like he just taped the fronts off or something. It's picking at me.

I checked with him, he doesn't have a way to make any since he graduated and was using the school's design shop. Sorry!
