Yeah, injectors should test b/t 10-14 ohms. I need to pull the ECU and see if there are any codes before going any further. Thanks for the help guys.

Boost is so much fun! Just got my turbo setup back on, spools so much faster with the rebuilt turbo!

Haha.
Boost ftw!

After I set my timing properly, I've been going into boost more often.
The gas station is getting money more often now. :(

Aight, here's a new problem. I just tried hooking up my PS cooler that has been sitting on my car for a while, and some weird things happened. First, once I refilled everything with PS fluid, I had no power steering at idle but crazy power steering while cruising, like any bump in the road would throw the steering wheel in that direction. I took everything off so it would go back to normal, and now I have no PS at all. The pump isn't making any noise, it's like there's a clog somewhere in my PS system. It's possible that there was water in the cooler and now I have a bunch of water in my system, but would that make it not work at all? Any thought on what else it could be? I might even make a new thread since I really want my power steering back haha.

Did you bleed the power steering fluid after you did all that?

I'm sure there was air in it after hooking up the cooler, but I went from lock to lock a few times as well as drove around the block, it didn't get any better.

Since putting it back to normal and bleeding it I have absolutely no power steering, it actually feels harder to turn than not having power steering normally feels, so I think there might be something blocking the lines somewhere, possibly water. I think once I get home for Spring Break tomorrow I'll jack the car up and take off the lowest PS hose from the rack and start the car and let everything pump out of the system, then put another pump on.

Weird.

Yeah I guess something is blocking the lines since PS systems aren't all that hard to bleed.

When you lose ps, your fighting against a sealed system when you manually turn the wheel, that's why it's so hard. If the lines were routed differently it would be much easier...not that you want to, just sayin.

Yeah, I thought about just looping the lines but I really enjoy having power steering haha.

I just looked through my garage and found 2 spare pumps, one of which I know is bad so I have a 50/50 chance of putting the good one on lol.

Draining the fluid and re-filling the system somehow magically brought the pump back to life...score!

Hey moto! Long time no chat haha.

Probably had air in it then. 3rd shift sucks. My sleep schedule has gotten completely out of whack in the last 3 months.

Turns out draining and re-filling only worked temporarily. When I installed the new pump I just disconnected the return line from the reservoir and turned the engine over a few times (no fuel/spark) so the pump would pump everything out.

I finally got my wrecked shell out of my garage, it was sad seeing it in the crusher :(

At least you were able to sell/use a lot of the parts so only the shell was crushed, still sucks to see a car crushed :/ I guess your PS pump is bad then. Is it whining any? If not, it could be the rack. I went to Atlanta today and even with the driver's window down almost the entire time, I got 28mpg. I'm 21 mpg around town, so 21/28 and the car is running a bit rich even though the FPR is set at 36psi (with vacuum hooked up), so I know it's not the injectors dumping too much fuel. Wonder what mpg I'd get with the window up and a tune? I have checked so far this week, and they all tested good: Coolant temp sensor, O2 sensor, injectors, coilpacks, spark plugs (pulled them and they looked good, gapped correctly) MAF, and TPS. Haven't checked the timing since last fall (need to rent timing light again, but was dead on ~3000miles ago) I'm beginning to wonder if it's the fuel pump, turbo, or wastegate.

How long has it been since you changed the fuel filter?
Our Q45 was acting super sluggish and it turned out to be the fuel filter.

Less than 3000miles ago Razi. I changed a lot of stuff last summer/fall. It's an OEM Z32 fuel filter too. Jeez Casey, is that a stretch or what? A 205 on a what, a 9 inch wheel?

Biggie: Haha the scrapyard only had pink hardhats!

Homeslice: I replaced the pump but it's still acting up. If I don't use PS for a while (highway driving or if the car is parked) then I have it for a few turns and it's gone. I'm betting there's still water in there and it's causing weird things to happen. Pump doesn't whine at all though which is weird.

Do you have a consult cable? Maybe you could datalog some stuff to see if anything is acting up.

Erryone else: I got 2 tickets in one stop today, first one was for being too low and the second one was for exhaust. First time in 3 years I've ever had a problem.

Okay, a 205 on a 9 is not a big stretch at all, people do WAY stupider stretches then that. Plus itll help my little KA sping em.
