They don't turn very much at all. I seem to remember there being a chart or something as to what they do, and when they do it (they turn the same or opposite direction as the front wheels at different speeds).

I suppose you could put the car on jack stands and try it all out? Has the car been previously modified? Sometimes people perform a HICAS delete.

I bought some 8k HID lights for $20 (I thought it was a deal until I checked online) but the previous owner said one light went out. He wasnt sure if it was the ballast or the bulb. My question is if its the ballast thats messed up can I get another replacement? if so should it be the same brand? cant find it online and I will try some stores tomm. What housing would you guys recommend? Are ebays fine?

I think the brand is xentec, will post after work

and does anyone have the scan of the seat belt recall guarantee, its not showing up in the tech page

Thanks!

I really just want some advice from people that know what they are doing. Is it worth the price (got him down on the price)?

Heres the link -

* There are more pics on page 2 of the car. I also know that the swap with the newer KA was done 2 months ago and the ride height is goofy because he has stock springs.

Thanks to those of you ahead of time that decide to help me out. =)

Just a quick questions for anyone that knows. What's the type of bulbs that go in the dash switches in an S13? Not the radioshack replacements that reuse the original holder, but the whole holder+bulb. I want to replace them all with led versions and I remember finding them on a site a while back but I didn't save the page. I can't figure out what they were called now either. T6 maybe?

I'll post up the link when I get home, but I have yet another issue. I think the guy at advanced auto wrang me up for and ordered an o2 sensor for an automatic but I have a manual. Is there a difference between the two?

There shouldn't be. But depending on the year you have... there could be a front and a back.

Quick stupid question(s)..

I've got an S13 shell and haven't had the time to go down to P2 to look at the motorsets. The shell has the steering rack and the brake booster + BMC but pretty much nothing else.

Basically what is the motorset missing that I'd need to source. Like the power steering components, ect... Just trying to decide if it's worth the extra $700 when I won't even be using the SMIC or the Rad..

Would I NEED to purchase a pre-made harness as well?

Found them. T3, T4, Tall T4, & T5. I think the switches take T4 and Tall T4. I'll measure 'em soon. Here's a link for anyone that wants to replace them with colored LEDs: http://autolumination.com/74.htm (halfway down or so).

Found this page:

sr20det-parts-guide-page-7-has-complete ... 59345.html

and it pretty much aswered my questions on locating some of the common maintenance parts needed, but I still don't really know what exactly I would need to source component wise for the shell to be 100% complete.

A standard Motorset from Phase2 comes with the transmission, ECU, harness, and the motor... but I'm sure I'd still need more for it to be complete.. only problem is that the PS pump is the only thing I can think of at the moment...

The shell already has the steering rack and the brake booster/BMC, I'll also be getting an aftermarket radiator, intercooler kit, driveshaft, and downpipe but that's pretty much it..

You should just have to loosen the mounting bolt on the pump as well as the tensioner, then just adjust it so that you have enough slack to pull the belt off/put the new one on. Tighten the tensioner again and then tighten the mounting bolt for the pump.
The factory service manuals are available from my signature. There are diagrams and stuff in there that should help.

Hello all and thanks for this wonderful forum. I have picked up a 1992 240 hatch and I am in the proccess of taking out the interior. I searched for dash removal and a post came up that use to have pictures but for some reason they are not coming up now. If someone could refresh this or send me a link to help me out I would be grateful. Future plans are SR20det when the boss lady see's fit. Thanks for the help. John

the IACV doesn't go to the exhaust manifold... and you'd have to block off the EGR at the intake manifold as well as the exhaust.

iacv is idle air control valve. it is necessary in supplying air to your system at idle since the throttle body is closed.

Is it a stupid idea to replace the old worn out bushings on the RLCA, FLCA, Steering Rack, and get new ball joints on the FLCA and RLCA (b12 ball joints) as well, if the car will just be sitting for another 3 years or so?

I picked up an S13 shell before I was actually planning on it just becuase it was an awesome price. So since I cant really drop a motor into it right now (have a wedding to pay for and a house to put a down payment on in the next year or so) I wanted to do at least SOMETHING with it while it sits. Going through and replacing bushings is pretty much the cheapest and most time consuming thing I can come up with while I wait... other than cleaning out the interior and getting rid of all that sound deadining. Will be treating rust too if I end up finding any :ohno:

So stupid idea to let polyurethane bushings sit in a frame that won't see the road for atleast a few years?

Not a stupid idea, but by the end of the build you may be able to afford cooler parts,so I would probably hold off.
