I have a CA in an S14, but I did standalone, so I'm not much help.

Oh I know, but seeing as how I'm probably about to lose my job, I can't go standalone. Or put any money into this car. Blech.

Good news! I may not lose my job! and even if I do, I've had a couple of job offers! woo-hoo! Back on track!

Plus, Carl e-mailed me back today

Got the front end back on. Fitment on the drivers side fender is a little off, but it always has been. I wanted to do more, but I'm fixing to go to work, so that's all I had time to do. Also, I mailed my harnesses yesterday to Carl to be wired together. So without any hiccups, it should start in about two weeks.

I'll post some pictures tonight when I get off.

Okay, so I've been lacking with the pictures. But with all this good news, I'll be sure to post them up for sure next week.

but. Carl has my harnesses and says I should have them back by the end of next week. Killer. I got my fuel pressure gauge in. I just ordered my exhaust from summit about two minutes ago. Should be in by next week. Even better.

Also, talked to a buddy of mine. I'll be getting four Nitto NT450's, mounted, balanced, best warranty from the store and tax for $540. Also includes dismount and disposal of old tires. Heck. Yes.

Tires are in a 225 50 15 all the way around.

dude i think you got an awesome deal for $800. i bought my s13 with a blown ka for $1000 and bought my ca for $1200, so if all you have to worry about is wiring you came out fan-f***ing-tastic lol

lol I did all the math. I should come out to $3200 with a road worthy car and a brand new paint job, with base, color and 3 coats of clear.

I got my exhaust in today, here are some pics:

That's a bfm!

Fuel rail still out.

Front end back on. Note the polished headlights

New headliner! This is in my sentra.

Yeah, I know I'm missing a sunvisor. Heather broke it last summer on my way to a 5-man paintball tournament

So I finished up the fitment issues on the bumper today. Also routed the main harness and got it all hooked up. Just waiting on my wires from Carl to start it.

And quick question. Who wants to put my fuel rail back in? For the life of me, I cannot fit it in there. Best way to do it?

Just take off enough stuff so that there is room to maneuver it. Once you have it all exposed and whatnot, its easy. I'd help you out but I am car-less. Hopefully I will find a good deal on a truck here in the next few weeks so I can drive around. I could give you a hand then.

Well, I've got the idle valve thing off and all the vacuum hoses out of the way. I'm wondering if I should take the valve cover off? I'm thinking that ought to do it, but I'll have to wait until I have a new gasket.

Valve cover removal is totally unnecessary. What is the problem, exactly?

no need to remove the valve cover.......

what is stopping you anyhow? You could take the plenum out if you had to, but it really isnt needed.

I can't get it back in without fear of breaking the injectors. Like, the injectors, will NOT go back in. At all. Am I doing something wrong?

Tip: install injectors in fuel rail, then slide all four injectors into bungs on intake manifold simultaneously. It makes it incredibly easy. Mine won't go on any other way, as my DSM injectors are a really tight fit.

And don't forget to put some engine oil on both of the o-rings too. It'll help them slide in and keep you from cutting them when you do put them in.

There should be tons of room in there to install this without removing a VC. I pull off that idle s*** and of course those metal brackets and that free's up all the space you should need.

I think I'm just doing it wrong haha. I fiddled with it some more today and still no luck. For whatever reason, the #1 injector is getting hung up on the plenum and I can't push it back any further to slide the injector in. I took off the fpr to try to make the install easier (which completely defeats the purpose of me taking it out to make the install of the fpr easier). Still no luck. Maybe I don't have everything removed that I should? I took off the idle control valve and all that, and also removed the vacuum hoses above the fuel rail. The hoses in the back are easy to manipulate, so they don't bother me. I think if I could get that thing with the hose nipple on it (real helpful, right?) next to the fpr and vc, it'd make it easier. But I'm pretty sure I rounded out the screw head today...

You did take the nut off the back of the rail that holds it to the intake manifold, right? It's really hard to see, you kinda have to just know it's there. It's like the last bolt that holds the upper manifold to the lower manifold.

I got the fuel rail back in! woo!!!!

Also connected the hoses and put the iacv back on.

Now I just need some help with a couple of other vacuum hose issues. For anyone interested, e-mail me or post here. I can snap pics pretty quickly.

Runs to the wastegate. I'm thinking boost gauge hook up?Part of the butterfly system, maybe?

No idea. Four hardlines, only three soft lines. On the intake manifold side.

One of the soft lines. Not sure what the t-fitting is for

Next to the alternator

Hard to see, but it's the hard line on the backside of the motor. I can't see where it runs to.

so Carl is done with my wires. Summit should be shipping my battery the end of this week or early next week. So I'm hoping to start this thing by the end of next week. If someone could help me out with those vacuum lines.

Here ya go, zerothread/225309

That covers everything but the red cap. From what I can see in that picture, I THINK it just needs to connect to the intake before the throttle body. It's the air supply for the idle control valves.

Float to the rescue!

I remember looking at those before, so silly me

And Sean, of course you can't wait to see it run. Cos I'll be at your shop

Edit: If I'm reading that correctly, does the one solenoid from the volvo replace the vacuum canister and the actuating solenoid? What about the valves or does it render those useless?

I'd like to have my butterflies working, so knowing what all I will need will be awesome.

Oh and Float, where would a run hose to from that red cap? It's got two hoses running off of it already, one of which does run underneath the intake manifold.

Awesome. My wires should be here this weekend, so I'll have them all plugged up and hopefully this thing will start Saturday. I've got a battery sitting here waiting to go in once the wires get here.

If I have any issues, I'll definitely send you an e-mail. Maybe you can bring Tim along and we can have a nico party
